I hear Hossa is close to signing with Chicago. Does this mean that Chicago will make it to the Stanley Cup Finals next year and lose?

Haha, now just get Elias and call them Montreal Devils. And Marty Brodeur would definitely join his city of birth, too :-D

To add some trade here: Craig Anderson from FLA to COL. Avalanche haven't found good starting goalie since Roy retired. Theodore, Aebischer, Budaj... Now it's Anderson's turn.

Nothing big here Craig Anderson sign with the Avalanche. Does this mean that Gustavsson wouldn't sign with them??

I'm also really surprise of this news. 12 years? darn he would have 42 years old when is contract end? :-o Though he got 5.2 millions year and this is suprising, i was thinking much of a 6.5, 7 million a year from Hossa.

Roloson sign a 2 year deal, 5 million with the Isles. The goaltending begin's to cost a lot in Long Island, that's what happen when you sign a 15 years deal with a goalie who's always on the injured reserve.

But Hossa will recieve 60 million in first 8 years (7.5m per year), and the rest in years 9-12 (2.2m total).
It's just another salary cap trick that B72 mentioned above :thdn:

Even 8 years is a long time for Hossa, IMO.

I hear that Spacek signed with the Habs. Knuble signed with Washington. Neids is staying with the Ducks. Brashear to the Rags.

I got the confimation of Spacek signing a 3 year/ 11 millions deal. Completely RIDICULOUS! darn he's got 35 years old, Gainey wants a team as old as him my god. :-p

Tough, for 4 millions i prefer to got Spacek with averaging 40 pts a season than Komisarek at 5 millions with 8 pts a season.

Great :-x Now every team in Northwestern division has superb goalie except Colorado. Luongo, Kiprusoff, Bäckström, now Khabibulin. And Anderson/Budaj/Rycroft will face them. Looks like new Avalanche management is a bit sleepy.

Yeah that sucks. Colorado can forget Gustavsson and then just hope that Anderson will do as good as he was doing with Florida. He can't goal 70 games a season but the 40-50 games he could goal are great performances tough.

I'm noticing that the Coyotes are not anywhere on the board at all. Are they not looking for UFAs or trading at all, or is it that no one is willing to sign with them?

Hal Gill to the Habs for two years. The also signed Spacek, but TSN is being highly critical of both deals saying Montreal is getting too long in the tooth on the blueline.

I just hope Philly has adequate plans to replace Knuble on the PP, just in case JVR isn't quite ready for primetime yet.
