He's probably one that's randomly generated when you start the game.

Probably that is the "problem".

Wow, the prospect depth is bad. I hope I will get a good draft pick already who can help turn this around.

Anyone doesn't use their 1st rounder on a D-man in the first season is nuts. 8-)

We will see, I tend to go BPA. It has worked out for me so far.

You know Batdad will draft a forward just to spite you. :-p

BPA baby. Anyone who does anything else....nuts or at least a smurf lover.

All of this Smurf talk reminds me of a recent episode of South Park. :-D

South Park spoofed the Habs???

Posted: Wed Nov 18, 2009 8:23 pm
by bruins72
Nope. They spoofed news talk show hosts like Bill O'Reilly and others. But Cartman (the one who was the host) claimed that Wendy (the class president or something) lead a massacre of the Smurfs. Then in the end it was all a giant dig on the upcoming James Cameron movie, Avatar (which has these blue humanoid creatures).

Just goes to show... I make an inappropriate comment about how terrible the roster is and it gets picked...
Haha just kidding! I at least have a bit of experience in working with them. I tanked the first time to get Hall but I've made the playoffs with their roster... took a lot of work though. I'll see if I can get them back into the playoffs again, just now with the Challenge team.

Well we are 2 games in and have found a way to win both. The plan seems to be throw as much at the net and hope it goes in. So far we have scored 6 goals in each game. At this point my goal is to make the playoffs. I don't know how close we are to a team that can do that. We will see at the end of the year.

I just saw the Bruins and Predators make a deal in my game that I would love to see in real life. The Bruins sent Matt Hunwick to the Predators for Colin Wilson! Like that would ever happen in real life.

That sucks. I hate not being able to jump on Sharp and Thomas when they hit waivers.
I think I'm going to tank and get Hall... I need some offensive depth. I left Duchene in the AHL, O'Reilly back to juniors. Duchene will be with the big boys next year.

I hope I can get into this! :D

They're quite fun when you do get into them, since you have to think about the roster day to day to ice the best team. You're not competing against the NHL anymore, you're competing against the best of TBL. And some of these guys can play. So it's quite fun seeing how you match up :-D

Great to see the new Challenge on! I'll get down to it come the end of the week, and I already can't wait

I noticed that some or even most of you are leaving Duchene and O'Reilly out of the NHL roster, and the reasoning behind that seems clear to me. But who then are you playing as your 2nd and 3rd line centres? Hensick? Is there anyone else there or am I missing something? :dunno:

Looks like a huge challenge already! :-D

In a previous playthrough, I had great success with Durno. Willsie is playing stellar too. I've had him hit 69 pts in the 2.1 before.

I think Duchene is far enough along that he won't be hurt by playing in the big show. I'm planning to give him top line type minutes and we'll see how he does in the first 9 games. I'm expecting he'll be good or great...if not, then I'll think about sending him back to junior for the year.

O'Reilly is almost definitely going back.

I'll have to have a look at Durno if I end up sending Duchene back - I had him penciled in for the AHL.

I dunno, Durno just seems to work for me...

Lines look like this right now, 3-0-1 record so far.

Wow I feel like the real Avs.

6-0-1. Just beat the Hawks and the Laffs. We're on a roll! On to the Sens.
Wish me luck!

Wow - nice work dude. You must have the tactics nailed down for this type of squad.

Getting any scoring from the bottom three lines?

Actually Cody McLeod has the most goals on my team, and Willsie has 4 assists and a goal. Anderson already has a SO.

Anyone know why Duchene is AHL-available? He should not. He is only 18 and has CHL rights

I'm not compaining... Hah I'd rather he get to dominate the AHL for a while. I sent O'Reilly down to Erie though. Let him rip that up with Torquato.

So does everyone sign Bobby Carpenter?
