I think it's absolutely astounding what the NHL 04 community has achieved. You've made what I think is the best version ever of the EA NHL series even better! I've been planning on checking this out once I've finished working on the TBL site. I just need to get that adaptor that allows me to use an XBox controller with my laptop. Hopefully I can get it to run in Linux Ubuntu too...

Archi, if you get playing this regularly would you be interested in joining an online league? The commish of the league said he'd reward me for getting another Englishman in. On top of that, it is really good fun, and I'm sure you would like it

Hehe I see! Try asking me after the summer once my other projects should hopefully have been completed by then. I'm still interested in looking at the html/php addons for NHL 04 too. It's just that I'm so busy with other bits at the moment that I can' commit - and I also want to take a look into joining DMHNL too.

Sure will! Would be great if you could get some new html in and bring some new features! But of course we don't pressure you to do this, if you did however, it would be wonderful!

This looks awesome, i abondoned the NHL series after 2007 becuase it got pants after 2004. I had all games since 97. And now this...awesome...and with my usual luck i can only find my 2006 and 2007 versions
I finally decided to buy NHL 2004 and give this mod a try, but it seems that almost all .rar files are corrupted. However it opens the game without a problem but when I tried to test it going into exhibition game it throws me back to Windows when I've selected teams and pressed next.

None of the RAR files are corrupted. They have thousands of downloads and zero reports. You might have had a bad connection.
Previews of new cyberfaces... there are lots of them.

Actually I hadn't noticed before but... what's up with all those Maple Leafs fans in the crowd for a Montreal-Anaheim game??

Aren't those Habs white jerseys ? There seems to be some red on them.

No, not these. There's a bunch of blue jerseys scattered in the crowd that very much look like Maple Leafs jerseys.

Next to the penalty box, on the left, you can clearly see one. Looks like Toronto, for sure.

That's just the idea... we wanted to have some occasional/random rival team fan jerseys for each team. When you go to a hockey game you'll see them... it's not like 100% of the audience are wearing the exact same jerseys.
NHL 2004 Community has moved...!! No more Flyermania.
The forum is still WIP... not much have been done graphically... but it's all functioning now and you're all welcome...!!
Please make an account and register...!!
Thanks.

We have made some really epic new revelations from the game... again... for the first time ever we can see the upper tier (and the arena illumination in the replays).
Check it out...!!

Wow, it looks like a full blown management game. I've embedded your video so people can view it straight from this thread.
Have you been able to add additional leagues or modify structures, etc? Or all editing solely based on html modification/creation?

Yes to everything. We have modified the schedules, points system and we have even added individual music for each and every team. That includes all correct goal songs and even intermission music.
Everything has been possible because the code is in html/JS.
Frankly, I don't understand why EA has been into other direction in their new games. They have removed some "simulation" sports game stats elements, like the basic plain boxscores. That's quite ridiculous. The new console sports games have only a fraction of these stats features. 2k is a bit better in that department.

I was most disappointed when I first found this out in NHL 13.
I don't think I'm thinking of the same things you are, but playing Be A Pro as a junior goalie for example, you can't go back and look at the boxscores for any games you didn't play. I mean, the whole game revolves around a full-blown 3D hockey engine... you can't at least pop out some stats?
...Ugh. Anywho

Yep. That's extremely LAME. But the kiddies who buy the series don't really care. The NHL 13 game engine itself ain't all that bad though. NHL08 was still the best next-gen EA game though.
The boxscores were gone since NHL 2004 by the way. This game never originally had them, either. NONE of the post NHL 2003 had them. PC or next-gen. We added them back to this mod because they accidentally? left the boxscore hardcode from NHL 2003 intact. It used similar HTML/JS based interface and the game responded to the same <span> commands. Crazy, eh?
I originally posted this thread here because I thought there could be some Javascript guys who could help us to develop the game even more. We can put pretty much anything to the menus... Javascript/HTML skill is the only limiting factor.
