Thanks archi for a great response , I'll try to keep it short so it won't take too much space on the thread ( should have started a new one in the first place )
I totally understand your main point which I presume is releasing only quality , and that is truly what this site has done over the past years .
Now when I think of it , I agree that it is very likely that MANY of the thousands (tens of) I was talking about in my post will start a new game
and update their rosters/histories when they're entering the 2012/2013 season and wont download the completed 2011/2012 rosters at all
I'm not going to bother Manimal with this question because as you said he is probably very busy in tweaking the best rosters available for EHM 2007 .
I'm very sad of the fact that I could not help with the research because I did'nt get the History Editor to work on my sh*tty old laptop
But finally i've gotten my self a brand new PC
So in the future I'm willing to participate in any way possible .
Thanks again for a comprehensive answer .

I share all the thought put in to Archi's response to the beta-testing question.
JUst so you know, it won't be that long until a version is released for all

Manimal - Here's your list of teams in EHM without a Division or Last Division and who are mentioned in the staff histories:
https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?ci ... 29C5C5!280
If you open the spreadsheet, look at the worksheet entitled "Teams with blank divisions" and you will see a list of teams which don't have any division set and are referred to in the staff histories. The "Total Entries" column shows how many entries in the staff histories data refer to that team.
The "history_tally" worksheet lists every team in the database.

Great news! Any and all help is always very greatly appreciated. And thanks for your kind words.

Dallas Stars:
Nicklas Grossman 06-07, 07-08
Mark Fistric 06-07, 07-08
Loui Eriksson 06-07, 07-08
Steve Ott 06-07
Toby Petersen 06-07, 07-08
Tom Wandell 07-08
Francis Wathier 06-07, 07-08
Raymond Sawada 07-08
Florida Panthers:
Greg Rallo 06-07
Krys Barch 06-07
Phoenix Coyotes:
Matt Beaudoin 07-08
These should be all the players that have the wrong team in their histories. Just change those to Iowa and it'll be right.

Thanks Reave. With regards to the unknown teams, this relates to those particular teams not having a league or a 'Last Division' set in the database. Once we add 'Last Divisions' to any team that isn't currently in a league then those 'unknown' teams will appear with the correct name.
With regards to Jed Ortmeyer, it is also because the team has been set as Hartford Wolf Pack rather than CT Whale - this is also something we'll be fixing.

They will only appear if the league in question is enabled at the start of the game

So we are dealing with two "unknown club" issues? One with regards to their being no division set and another where the nation is not selected upon starting the game? Lukas has reported a similar thing to me today:
Lukas wrote:The known thing with an "uknown team". I noticed that there were more unknown teams when I selected only NHL as playable, than when I selected the Czech Extraliga as playable as well. E.g. team called Litoměřice became suddenly known.
However, it seems the defunct Hartford and Iowa appear in the player histories in my saved game which is odd as they don't have Last Divisions set...
P.s. I have some corrections to post in here from Lukas. I'll try and find time tomorrow evening to post them.

is it possible to release a roster update without the trade deadline moves? I think manimal mentioned somewhere that the moves would be included. so maybe something up to trade deadline, and a separate one for after

I am swamped with things to do so I will not do that.
It is an easy thing for you to change them back with the editor, though

Anton Rödin, should be Swe-2 instead of the two Swe-3.
Stefan Schneider, its blank at team name 08/09 and 09/10+PO, should be Portland Winterhawks.
Kevin Doell, should be Swe-2 instead of Swe.

A bit from Lukas:
Lukas wrote:4) I apparently assigned the history to wrong "Petr Zámorský" (I only guessed which ID was whose) - history is assigned to the one who is assigned to juniors and is smaller in height - so probably an older entry into the database.
Basically, the history has been assigned to the wrong Zámorský.

While playing the game, I noticed a lot of interest in Dany Heatley, so I considered making an offer for him. As I took a look at his stats, I noticed that from the 06/07 season to the 10/11 season, his +/- stats are wrong. Here's an example of what I mean. In 06/07 he had 105 points and is listed as being a +105 when he was actually a +31.

I noticed that most, if not all, of the Player Info stats have not been updated. Is someone working on this? I believe this is why most of the younger players in the NHL are rookies in the first season. It's also where the stats come from for league records. For instance, Nick Lidstrom should enter the Top 10 all-time in NHL Games Played during the 2011-12 season. If you look at his history he has enough games, but he's not on the list. When you look in the editor under Player Info you can see that his numbers are much lower.

Are you sure about this? Did you make the changes in the Editor for a player or two and see if it gave you the expected results?
In all my testing I couldn't find how the stats on the Player Info tab had any effect.....but I don't think I ever thought to look at the effect on league records

After some tests I think the key to having a player not be a rookie is under Player Info: NHL Games (and possibly Regular Season). If I gave a player Club or League Stats, but left NHL Games at 0 he was still a rookie. If I put 5 NHL Seasons and left NHL Games at 0 he was still a rookie. I'll try a few more variations, but hopefully all we'll have to do is add a number to NHL Games and that will fix it. It seems like the highest number I've seen on that is 200, so maybe that number is also used for waiver eligibility or something. Apparently beyond 200 doesn't matter.
As for the Club and League Stats in Player Info, here's an example: Nicklas Lidstrom starts in real life with 1494 NHL games played. He is listed on the NHL All Time leaders under Most Career Games with 1494. When you start the season and he plays a few games, the number in his personal history goes up, but the number on the Most Career Games list does not. For some reason it counts starting from his Player Info stats (which is at a little over 1000). I can tell this because he isn't even the Active Leader in the game. It's Jaromir Jagr who in reality should start at 1273, but in the game (and in his Player Info) starts at 1109. Also, if you look at Detroit's history and look under Most Career Games, it's Lidstrom with the same number as was his Player Info.

I just checked Ottawa and it's the same there as well.
I don't if it can be fixed, and it really doesn't matter to me. I'm extremely happy with all the work that's been done already.

AdamOates wrote:I noticed that most, if not all, of the Player Info stats have not been updated. Is someone working on this?
I want to automate the calculation of the Player Info stats. It would be a big job to manually go through all 1,400 NHL contracted players (plus UFAs, etc) and update them. It would be much easier if there was some sort of utility that could update it all in a matter of seconds.
However, I haven't started work on this yet. I need to help straighten out some of the mistakes/issues in the history updating and then I want to work on a converter (which would allow lots of users to modify player attributes and contact details using Excel and to share the histories with UUDB, etc). However once I've done that, I'll see what can be done with the Player Info.
Something that would help a great deal would be what leagues count as NA Jnr / Canadian Jnr / NA Major Jnr / College. If anyone has any info on this, please post it here:
