Makes perfect sense for the Western teams to have their affiliates closer
Edmonton and Calgary aren't so close to California.

But they are in the same time zone (and for the Oilers, Bakersfield is actually a little closer than Oklahoma City), and if the parent club is on the road a call up from the west coast will be closer to most road game destinations

Yesterday was 31st January, and Antti Niemi had his 31st career shootout, with 31 saves. He's 31 year old and he's jersey number is 31.

Not to be picky, but to be picky--Calgary and Edmonton are not in the same time zone as California teams. They are one hour ahead.
Still not going to be easy for the northern teams like Vancouver, Calgary Edmonton (Canucks might move a team to Abby or somewhere close for 2016-17 is the rumour...when deal/lease in Utica runs out....as the flight times are still not great to get guys up/down fast after injuries for back to backs etc. BUt it totally makes sense for the travel for scouts and team management to see the guys play. Will save some $ there. All in all a better situation if they get the crowds.

Could be save of the year right there, it was amazing!
Also, third defeat in 4 games for the Habs against the Sabres.

That's really funny, how can you manage that?!

Yep...he wore sweat pants to the rink. Evander is not the smartest young man. He has serious issues. I would not touch him if I was ANY other team, save the Rangers. CANCER

And Kane is injured for 4 to 6 months. Guess the Jets will have to wait if they want to trade him.
Nabokov has been traded back to San Jose and will most likely retire with them. Nice move from both GM.

Kane AND Bogosian got traded to Buffalo! Holy Adam Oates!
Myers, Stafford, Armia(?), Brendan Lemieux (Claude's son I think?) and a first round pick go to Winnipeg.
Not surprised that Buffalo take the risk to go pick Kane, they're really desperate! I'm still surprise though that the Jets traded Bogosian. I think he's better than Myers so far.

I didn't think we'd see Kane traded until the off-season since he had season ending surgery.

I may be negative but I just don't see how this is good for the Sabres?
They lose:
Myers- A "top" Defender
Stafford- A "decent/top" forward
First round pick- vital for rebuild
Two good prospects
What they get:
A problem, injured player with top forward potential
A decent defender but not top
A goalie prospect
I guess I just don't see how this evens out at all. If I was Buffalo GM I would have tried to trade Myers/Stafford for more draft picks this year and just become utterly stacked. Who knows what will happen with Kane both health and maturity wise, I'm sure getting dealt to the worst team in the league isn't exactly a joy

Just to make this whole thing even crazier... that Buffalo pick could be the #1 overall pick in the draft. If you're in contention to get the 1st overall pick in the draft, you don't trade that in a package like this. A team like Buffalo should be using that pick to build their future around. I see Buffalo being a bad team for a long time.

It's not the Buffalo pick they said it was their lowest one which ever that turns out to be (Islanders/Blues)
