Hey Lidas,
Will you add the trade deadline deals in your next update or not?
I think it would be better not to because now some teams are not competitve anymore (like the Maple Leafs), and other teams were boosted for the series (like the Flames). Because of this, there will be less parity in the league. Also, some teams now have a very high number of potential free agents. Some teams like the Leafs and the Sabres got goaltenders only because their number 1 goalie was injured and the maple Leafs took the contracts of Jamie Heward, Olaf Kolzig and Andy Rogers with a draft pick because the Lightning wanted to get rid of these salaries.
I think including those trades in your next update will unbalance the league. There is no way an NHL season could start with the actual rosters. It's more fun when every team has a shot at making the playoffs and it also nice to play the trade deadline day yourself rather than having it done for you already.
That's my opinion, of course you're in charge so you do what you want.
Thanks a lot for all the work you've done.
I have completed a season with the Blue Jackets with your 1.1 roster update and it's been a lot of fun.

I'm all for the league becoming unbalanced. It's another opportunity to rebuild a team that's in ruins. What I'm more concerned with is the situation that tksolway described. If we put these contracts on some of these teams now, they'd be over the cap.

I'm glad you like my database. My 1.2 update will include all deadline transfers (I have already updated it). Im fully aware that some rosters will become quite unbalanced, but users who want the more balanced rosters can keep using 1.1.

I want to use version 1.2 because of updated slovakian league, but I don't like the idea of including deadline transfers...but meh, what do I care? I am gonna be stuck in middle Europe, so I shouldn't care about North America anyway...

Yes, I have recieved most of the teams from Racicot. Unfortunately I dont have enough time to add it before I release next update (before next challenge), but it will be in there for 1.3.

Hey Lidas, thx you so much for the new 1.1 version 2009, it really fun! But for 1.2 just some couples of things to rearange:
Jonathan Boulet in olympiques de gatineau has a good futurs and has a great slapshot, but in the game he is one the worst of LHJMQ.
Only info I have on him is one QMJHL game
Paul Byron will be better than the potenciel you'v put him.
Hockey's Future has him projected as a 3rd liner (maybe 2nd), so I feel -7 potential is appropriate
Marc-Antoine Gélinas is the goalies pf olympiques, and olympiques alot of new players.
Moved - more players will be created for the 1.3 version.
Matt D'agostini in montreal canadiens has great potencial, but why in ehm the scouts says is never make the NHL?
I cant do anything about scout reports
PK Subban would need a higher potenciel
I upgraded him from -13 to -7 potential.
Price is so good in EHM, but in life he sucks in the moment.
He only has a CA of 135 when he starts.
Why Marc Denis better than Halak in the game? Halak should be better than Dennis!
Because v1.1 ratings are based on 2007-2008 season. Halak will be the better one in 1.2.
THX for 1.1!

:aplause:
EDIT BY ME: I forgot to say that Jordan Leopole is way better in real life than in the game, I'm sorry but in EHM I have buffalo, and all my defenders are better than him??????
Leopold is good in my game. Still, when the season is over, I'll go through all player stats and include this season in their abilities.

Nikita Filatov is listed as being 5'7" when he is actually 6'0". His weight is also too low (158), it should be 172.

There are a lot of young players who are bigger IRL than they are in the game. They have all grown since the DB was created, and I'm mostly focusing on more important issues than body size. Since you mentioned it here, of course I'll make him bigger.

Lidas,
One small problem that I realized with the database lies with Wade Redden. He is far too good in the database, consistently around 50 points and a rating of over 8.
He is nowhere near that good, God knows I wish he were.

That's because his ratings are based on previous seasons. I will go through all NHL players and based their attributes on this season for a later update. But since you asked, I'll downgrade him a bit now already

Speaking of editing ratings, do you have a specific formula you use for any ratings?

Thanks. If you want it to be realistic though in the end, just drop his ratings to a player who gets un-drafted and plays in a non-playable league.

Hello, I cannot find Ryan Ellis of the Windsor Spitfires in the DB. Could anyone help me in locating him.
I have searched on EHM, but cannot seem to find him. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I'm using an Excel spreadsheet created by Shadd here at TBL.

He is in there for sure. Just look through the Windsor Spitfire roster. or type "ryan ellis" in the search field, and you should find him. He is two years too old in the 1.1 database, but that is fixed in the upcoming 1.2 release.

pity, that you are didn't integrated the DEL 2008/09 v1.2 roster. That would have saved much time for a roster 09/10. Now I must start again from scratch, some players and staff to create.

If you could send me your changes, I can add them to the 1.3 version

is to much...
I work always with the current cadres and with the homepages of the Teams.
It would have been better if you are worked with the DEL 2008/09 v1.2 roster. This based on your DB v1.1.
I will wait now on a update 09/10 and then edit new.

I don't get it? Why would it be too much? Should I discard all work I had done since I released 1.1 and take over from the changes you made from 1.1? I'm sorry, but there is no way that your DEL work is more than everything I have changed since 1.1.
