Lidas,
I was looking at the last database and just wanted to make sure some of the Rangers positionings were updated:
Sean Avery almost always plays LW, hasn't played Center in forever.
Artem Anisimov is playing LW sometimes but he is a natural centerman.
Evgeny Grachev is mainly being used now as a LW but still plays some Center.
Brian Boyle isn't being used as a D-man anymore even though he has played it in the Kings system, I'd take away the LW from him but keep D with his history. He is primarily a center-men now.
Brandon Dubinsky is sometimes playing LW but again, is primarily a center-man.
Thanks for everything, well all greatly appreciate all of the hard work that you put into this game.

hopefully you can up jonas gustavsson a bit, he's really playing well and has the potential to be a really good goalie. i think that stahlberg, stefanovich and bozak's potentials should all really be raised, in 1.3 none are even good enough to make a nhl team. also rene borque should have high 2nd low 1st line overall in my opinion. cammeleri (sorry for all the naff spelling) should also be a definite 1st line talent, maybe even a franchise forward (i can't beleive i'm saying this i hate montreal), and i really don't think that gomez, hedjuk, dipietro, turco, and spezza should all be star franchise players. craig anderson should be upped a bit so he is atleast a higher end backup goalie, cause right now in 1.3 he sucks. jon quick should also have be made a bit better, and antero nittymaki should not be a higher end starting goalie in the game. carrey price should only amount to be a core goalie, not a key star goalie.pekka rinne should also be made a lot better and tim thomas should be a key star goalie, and cam ward should be a key star goalie, not a superb goalie. Toskala should not be a franchise goalie, but instead a decent backup goalie. peter budaj shouldn't be a franchise goalie either, just a midlevel backup. Jonas Hiller should also be a lot better in 2.0 also. sorry if this all sounds bossy, but im just posting my thoughts on this, hopefully these changes can be made to the update, and im really excited for 2.0. One last thing, would u be able to change how the all-star game players are voted in, and how the top players are ranked? like for example, last season for me tavares won the conn smythe and the hart trophie, leading the league in points and assists with 55 goals and 100 assists, and had the highest average of all players in the league wit ha 9.26, yet he wasn't voted into the allstar game or even ranked among the top 10 centers, only the players who had a star or superb ranking were in the allstar break. hopefully you can make it so players are picked for the allstar game based on their statistics that season, not their ranking or attributes

I disagree with Spezza.. He is playing like a changed man this year. His stats will come along as the season goes by. He's much faster, stronger with the puck, and has been put on PK situations..Something that management would cringe at in the past. He really deserves franchise player status and hope he remains that way in the new DB.
Spezza v.2009 >> any other version of Spezza

Grossman, as far as the all star game goes and all that Lidas has no control over that. The calculations for that are hardcoded into the game.

u guys need to stop saying this guy needs to be rated better......this guy needs to be lowered.what makes u a specialist on the matter?im sure lidas knows what hes doing, and has systems for everything that he does, any good roster updater would.im sure he's putting in the time to make sure that everything is proper before he releases it to us all,if he is anything like me,and it seems like he is (he wouldnt be putting in all this time if he wasnt) then he is prolly OCD enough to make sure that every little detail is as close to being realistic as it possibly can before he releases it......lets not forget that he's just as eager to play again as we all are.im not sure if any of u have done anything like this before, but i know that before lidas was doing it for us,i was spending weeks if not more doing it myself........and i will prolly spend a week just tweaking things that i think should be different from what he thinks, and i suggest to u all that are making suggestions,to do the same, there is a pregame editor easily found, that allows u to go in and change attributes to the way u think they should be.......so all u leafs fans can go on there and make grabovsky a 100 point man,and schenn a chris pronger clone,so they win the cup every year.this is my first post,i just thought it needed to be said, cause u all seem to be putting in ur 2 sense as to what needs to be on that roster, but none of u (excluding the people working on it)are actually taking the time to research and make things accurate as they can be.obviously we all think that players on the teams were fans of r the best, otherwise we wouldnt be fans,i think having someone less biased makes it for a much funner game, and a much more challenging game

I noticed some minor things looking at the Penguins roster:
Alex Goligoski(PIT): shoots left, but even NHL.com has that wrong

Brooks Orpik(PIT): primary position should be LD
Tyler Kennedy(PIT): primary position should be RW, he didn't play C regularly since his Junior/AHL days
Nick Johnson(PIT/WBS): primary position should be RW
Eric Tangradi(PIT/WBS): primary position should be LW

Hmm...
Im working on 2010 and 2011 drafts right now, and stumbled upon a HUGE amount of data. (210 prospects for 2010 and about 150 for 2011).
... but that will take me weeks to fix, so I'll wait with it for v2.1 I guess, unless you guys REALLY want me to put it into 2.0 already.

My vote would be to wait till 2.1

I think that can wait for 2.1 Lidas.

2.1 also
And what about the salaries in the teams? Is this being fixed too? Because I started the 08/09 version with the Rangers and right away the salary in the team was about 10M or more above the salary cap in the NHL. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that or not, but I don't think it makes sence to start like this and needing to change a lot from the original roster only to fit in the salary cap for the league.

Rangers roster and cap issues were prevelant at the 2008-09 update times. So yes, it was right, and yes Lidas will be dealing with salaries. He basically has dealt with EVERYTHING at least for the NHL level for version 2.0

aha right, it was just somehow strange that right after i started i had to trade some of the big players so i could fit it

Some of them are probably in the prospect-lists starcrasher and Johnnyluc are working with as well. Better wait for 2.1, I think

about the prospects, what exactly is it that needs to be done? i own my own business and have lots of time on my hands, and it would be something that i would have done likely anyways.so if u need a little help i would definatly give u a hand, that way i could maybe get it done before u were ready to realease anyways.is it something i could help with?or would it still take u a ton of time inputting it into the game?

Still take a ton of time.

Put me in the "keep the big draft prospects update for version 2.1" camp. We'll have lots to play with in Lidas 2.0 and then we'll have a nice big prospect update to look forward to in 2.1.

I did a search and didn't see anything, but I noticed that there's a player in 1.3 named Nathan Gillies that's 7' 3". Hockeydb has him listed as 5' 10".

I'm all for waiting for 2.1 to have the prospects info, as long as no transactions are made from the beginning of the season so we can still use it as a fresh slate or at least the option for those who want it with the prospects and no transactions or with transactions.
Just saving the database after the prospects are done and then doing the transactions (if you plan on it) and saving again.
Thanks again.

If i start a game with the new 2.0 database and then when 2.1 with the prospects comes out, then will i be able to continue my game with the 2.1 database or i will have to start again with the 2.1 ?

To use a new database you have to start a new game. This applies to any EHM database.

Or you can update you saved game using saved game editor

But that wouldn't be using the new database. Would it?
