Well I did.
Good to hear you've managed to add the ability to change all birthdates at once. That'll come handy for Lidas.
And some other good changes there aswell. Looking forward to it.

Have you started a new game using that database? The pregame editor is going to modify the database that is used to create a new game. It's not going to affect any games you've already started.

yeah i started a new game . . is there a way to select the new database or should it happen automatically

Did you create a backup of your database to edit? If you did, you should select the one you edited instead of default when you start a new game.

i didn't make a backup . . is it not going to work without it?

It will do, but backups are used as insurance purposes, if your database was to crash, you'd then need to start a new one from scratch, always good to keep that back-up.
If you only have 1 database, it should load up automatically. Otherwise put your database in a folder and save it to your "Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\database" folder. Then when you start a new game, the choice of which you would like to use will be there. Or it should be.

It is, if you've patched the game.

Don't forget to hit "Confirm" after you make changes to a player/staff BEFORE you move on to a different player/staff. If you make changes to a player and then change players without hitting "Confirm" all the changes are canceled. "Confirm" is what writes the changes to the database record and saving just recollects all the records.

Hey SkateLine, the way to edit the team's (and leagues history), is not through the editor. But if you go to your main EHM directory: Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\database and choose the database you are using, open up the "record_config" file. If you can't open it, right click and click "open as..." and just select notepad or wordpad or something.
Oh and Welcome to TBL.

Not sure what is wrong with it... Do you have the latest one? I'd just suggest that you remove that one from your computer and download it again.

These things can't be edited in the Saved Game Editor. They can only be edited in the Pre-Game Editor. About the only things you can change in the SGE is a player/staff's attribs.

Ok so I downloaded the recent version of the editor and changed some of the teams in the NHL and now when I load it up I get a few errors. The first two are Atlanta_Index not found and Phoenix_Index not found these don't give me much trouble I usually click ok and move on then why I get to the next screen of picking enhanced leagues I get this error "v3.0.4 usa_nhl.cpp 76" and then closes out EHM. Any help?

Most likely there must be teams that are called Atlanta Thrashers and Phoenix Coyotes in the database, just shift them with another team from another (nonplayable) league and edit those teams instead.

Well half of the solution as I don't get the Atlanta Phoenix error any more but it still closes on the .cpp error

What more have you changed in the NHL?
Posted: Thu May 07, 2009 8:31 am
by BaerXIII
That's it just the team names and locations as well as putting the teams into arenas in those cities

Do the same as I told you about Atlanta and Phoenix, I don't know which NHL-that is editable so to be sure shift all NHL with other teams and edit the new teams and keep the real NHL team names in the database.
Also don't change the number of teams in the divisions as it's hardcoded to only be 5 in each.
