I just started my first real career as GM of the Habs.
After 2 nights playing this save im now 2 games into the regular season. I think now after I set everything up I should be able to advance much faster. My plan for season one is to keep the team togehter as it is right now and go as deep into the playoffs as possible. With the post deadline roster I think this team is already ready for the playoffs. I added some depth players via waiver.
This will be more like a learning career so that I'm later ready to lead the Panthers to thier first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

I've concluded my first season as GM of the Red Wings, winning the Stanley Cup, and have entered my second season. I benched Howard in the Playoffs after three games the previous year, in favor of Gustavsson, who went on to record 8 Shut Outs in the Post Season and win the Conn Smythe trophy. Nyquist ended up winning the Hart trophy, as well as most goals that season. In the offseason, I ended up trading Howard and a 2nd round pick in 2016 for Connor McDavid, as I was ready to call Mrazek up and felt I needed to reward Gustavsson with a contract and a shot at #1 Goalie. In the offseason, St Louis and Zidlicky retired, causing a hole to open up in my blue line. I proceeded to sign Green and Erhoff, making them my only signings. At the start of the season, I had McDavid on the third line before picking up Patrick Kane on the waivers. Instead of forcing McDavid fourth line minutes, I felt it was best to send him back to the Juniors for one more year. Mrazek and Gus have split my goaltending duties, Mrazek leading the way a little more. My lines now are as follows.

Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Nyquist
Mantha/Abdelkader/Kane
Tatar/Sheahan/Jurco
Miller/Weiss/Helm

Smith/Erhofff (Smith keeps pumping out 8+ ratings and racking up points)
Kronwall/DeKeyser
Ericsson/Green

Glendening (scratched)

Mrazek/Gustavsson splitting about 50/50

Seriously Coolwoff have you ever heard of capitalization of letters in names, start of sentences and for the word I? Your posts are incredibly hard to read. No punctuation either. You are not texting here. I cannot even read your posts, and I am sure not the only one who skips them.

That is nice, but you need to learn to follow this forum's rules. I do not care how you always write. Impossible to read. Do all of it right, not just some of it, and make yourself at least appear to be an adult.

Many players in the team are overvalued imo. But it is a fun team to play with.

My top6 this season is deadly.

Omark - Olimb - Aaltonen
J.Lindström - Regin - Etem

Finally got my Steam account back and managed to finish off my first season with the Sens. Didn't make the playoffs, but I was still getting the hang of things before my Steam account was stolen. Should be a better second season.

Just helped the Arizona Coyotes win their first ever Stanley Cup. The team is still pretty young too. Only like 3 players on the roster that are 30 years of age or older.

IIRC it's in the practice page, you can look at the attributes and if attributes are green they are improving, red they are declining.

Have just started my 2nd season with Chicago. We won 51 games and finished 3rd in the Conf last year; made it to the Conf Final but was eliminated in 4 games by the Kings. Had some pretty horrendous injuries/roster issues through the season which really affected the team's performance. Kane missed 52 games through injury, Toews and Sharp were injured for various periods and Hossa suffered an ACL injury with an 8-month layoff which led to him retiring early anyway. I barely had a 1st line when Kane, Hossa & Sharp were out...

Anyway, made a few roster moves in the offseason. Traded Bickell (and his awful $4m contract), Carcillo, Rosival & van Riemsdyk and didn't resign Oduya, Vermette, Richards & Timonen. Brought in Nail Yakupov, Morgan Rielly, Brian Gibbons, Korbinian Holzer & Devante Smith-Pelley through trades and UFA signings. Roster for 16/17 is:

Sharp - Toews - Kane
Saad - Teravainen - Yakupov
Versteeg - Kruger - Shaw
Gibbons - Danault - Smith-Pelley
* Nordstrom

Keith - Seabrook
Rielly - Hjalmarsson
Pokka - Rundblad
*Holzer

Crawford
Raanta

Start to 16/17 has been unreal. Gone 11-0-0 so far. Crawford with 10 wins. Sharp (18 points), Toews (16 points), Kane (15 points), Saad (15 points) & Yakupov (13 points) pace the team.

I'm almost at the 13hr mark and I just finished game 10 in my first season with Philly. Not really doing the challenge, but that's how I chose my first team.

Record
7-2-1 for 15pts 36GF, 32GA, 34%PP, 82%PK

Lines
B.Schenn - Giroux - Voracek
Raffl - Lecavalier - Akeson
Umberger - Couturier - Simmonds
Ebbett - White - Bellemare

Schultz - Streit
Grossman - Del Zotoo
Gudas - L. Schenn

Mason - Emery

INJ - Andrew MacDonald
SCR - Matt Read

Team Scoring
1. Streit 5+7=12
2. Giroux 2+9=11
3. Voracek 8+3=11
4. Raffl 3+6=9
5. Schultz 2+7=9

Hes now 57-32-28-60 after that, with Crosby sitting 49-19-33-52 and Malkin 57-27-25-52

Still continuing to dominate this season. I'm now 26-0-2! Kane and Sharp lead the league (and the team...) with 45 points apiece; Toews is 3rd 37 points. Yakupov, Saad and Keith aren't too far off. Crawford leads with a 1.26 GAA and .947 SV%. He only sees about 20 shots/game on avg. My best win came a couple of games ago when I beat the Ducks 10-0 at the Honda Center. Ducks were 3rd in the Conf at the time.

Starting second tanking season in Philadelphia.

Traded Grossman, AMac, L.Schenn, Lecavalier, Read and other stuff for missing first round picks, so roster suffered a long step back.

Del Zotto - Giroux - Voracek
B.Schenn - Vermette - Simmonds
Raffl - Perreault - Akeson
Rinaldo - Vande Velde - Skille

Couturier - Streit
Smid - Gustafsson
Manning - Gudas

Mason - Markström

Defence is my biggest problem (Couturier being best defender during first season tells a lot). Morin, Hägg and Sanheim made huge improvement in skill, still they need some seasoning in AHL. Attribute wise waiver claim Trevor van Riemsdyk looks good and might take Gustafsson's place in line-up.. Alt is about to pass Gudas in my own depth chart.

Offense is in good shape. Though, I had some problems with secondary scoring.. Schenn (15+17 101PIM) turned in to Hartnell goes down vol 2 and Simmer (16+26 114PIM) needs to score more goals. Raffl (15+23) played very inconsistent season.
Del Zotto (29+30) earned his place in first line.

So first season on EHM:EA, and it actually seems easier in many ways than EHM2007, at least in terms of on-ice results.

Having immediately traded away Erik Cole, Andy Miele, Dany Cleary and Jakub Kindl for a couple of 2nds and a couple of 4ths, the unusually injury free wings walked the Presidents trophy with an almost plus 180 goal differential and a new record points total, despite the only additions to the main DRW roster a few waivers claims like Patrick Eaves (8 points in 29 games on the 4th line) - the others only got a couple of games here and there before being flipped for picks, the released Enroth (allowing me to trade Gustavsson and Porter for the rights to Darnell Nurse and a late pick when the Oilers had both their starting tenders injured and where at that point a playoff bubble team), and at the deadline Yakupov for a 2nd in 2017 and a 3rd in 2018 - he got 4 goals in 8 and then got injured!

For the first 2/3rds of the season the Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Nyquist/Kronwall/Zidlicky line was totally dominant (Zids and Nike somewhat overrated), and their form was still good when I moved Zids to 3rd line 1st PP when his physicals tailed off, and when I moved Dats to the 2nd with Tatar and Helm (moving Abdelkader up).

Nyquist got 61 goals and 57 assists followed by 23 points in 15 playoff games (hart Trophy)
Zetterberg had 44 & 72 in 80 games, with 25 in 17 in the playoffs (Selke & +/- award- 67!!)
Dats 114 in 82 and 15 in 17 (Lester B. Pearson).
Kronwall 67 in 82 (Norris ahead of Bouwmeester and Zidlicky who each had 70!!!! points!)
Howard won the Conn Smythe & jennings & King Clancy, but annoyingly martin Jones won the Venezia with 35 less wins...
Babs obviously won the jack adams, steering the team to the cup.

THe only other real noticeable contributions were from Tatar (64 points in 75, 12 in 17 in the playoffs), Franzen 56 in 82 but disappeared in the playoffs and ended up on the 3rd line, Sheahan (38 in 78 but only 2 points in the playoffs).
Weiss earned himself an end of season trade, and everyone else is just about worth their place on the roster.

apart from the perhaps over-strength of SOME of the wings on the latest rosters, despite trading tightening up in certain circumstances, its still easy enough to exploit the ai with hoarding waived players and taking advantage of players on the block for asset hoarding. Through doing this periodically during the season while my top roster chugged along nicely, I was able to seriously boost my prospect pool.

In addition to the likes of Mantha, Larkin, Pulkinen, Oulette, Mrazek, Marchenko and Sproul, I have waiting in the wings, as it were, Darnell Nurse, Shea Theodore, Samuel Morin, Jack Campbell (released by the stars!), Andreas Johnson, Klimchuk, Nykander, Nick Sorensen, Jakub Vrana & best of all Sam Reinhart. And Arizona's 1st round pick...

I'm going to have to impose self discipline from here on in, so that I don't just end up with an uber all star roster...but it should be interesting with Dats, Zetterberg, Zidlicky, Kronwall and Franzen all on a downward curve, so lots of these kids should get game time.

On a positive note, there seems to be far better prospect distribution in the draft, with players projected as 3rd or 4th liners by my scouts (but playing for lesser teams) all the way down to the 6th round....

BTW..some of the exploiting of refuse on waivers was made much easier by the fact the reserve list limitations seem not to be functioning properly on my game. I realised I must have had over 60 players contracted more than 90 in total.

Started a new season with the new 'Start of Season' rosters. Took the Ottawa Senators. Scratched and clawed my way into the playoffs.

Battled through injuries. The most notable one being to Craig Anderson close to the beginning of the season. Lost him for 4 months. Thankfully I had signed a young goalie by the name of Ville Kolppanen. Lehner struggled during this time and it was Ville who kept me in the playoff hunt. Anderson picked up where he left off when he came back and really helped solidify my goaltending. This allowed me to trade Ville, 4th rounder (2016), 4th rounder (2015) and a 5th rounder (2015) to the Lightning for Slater Koekkoek (local boy and I just love his name).

Made a few other trades, not many. I'm not big on dealing out players. I like to develop my young players and keep them. Traded Erik Condra to the Lightning for Jake Dotchin (another young defenceman). Traded Jean-Gabriel Pageau and the rights to Francis Perron to the Bruins for Reilly Smith, which then prompted me to trade Alex Chiasson as he dropped down the depth chart with Smith coming in. Traded Chiasson to the Kings for Jordan Nolan and the Kings' 1st rounder (2017).

So I managed to finish 8th with a 45-30-7 record. Went up against the Rangers in the 1st round and went down in 4 straight. No one on the team had multiple points. My leading point getter during the regular season, Bobby Ryan had no points and 8pims in the series. The Rangers have continued their playoff dominance over me even with EHM:EA. I had problems with them in EHM 05, EHM 07 and now with EHM:EA.

I'm looking at making some more deals before and on draft day. I have a couple of players on my shortlist who I want to make a big play for and I want to try and move up in the draft. I got players to get rid of and holes to fill.

So I'm playing with Florida Panthers and have had the team enter the playoffs in my 2 years there. Unfortently we crashed out in the 1st round both years. Last year we lost 1-4 to Canadiens, who went on to win the Cup, so didn't feel to bad about that in the end I guess! I'm now 34 games into the 3rd season and while we did play well last season (up untill last 10 games anyway) we are dominating this year and just got our winstreak of 7 games ended by the Flyers, with a late late goal.

So we are 22-7-5 this season so far, playing some fine offensive hockey. That is good for number 1 in the league. We were ranked 25th in pre-season! :-o Not sure what that "pundit" was smoking. But what I think have made us even better this year is my continous improvement of the bottom 6. I brought in John Moore by trading away Oduya and Montoya to the Coyotes, so a pair of Moore-Ekblad is doing very well in D putting up great numbers as well. Garbutt was picked up from Blue Jackets for just a 4th round pick. Much improved bottom 6 this year, meaning less goals against and our PK is improved as well as a result. My team this season:

Huberdeau-Barkov-Saad
Tlusty-Bjugstad-Repik
Pirri/Jokinen-Trocheck-Hayes/Komarov
Garbutt-Bolland-Vitale

Moore-Ekblad
Kulikov-Campbell (injured 4 months!)/Gudbranson
Petrovic-Gudbranson/Lashoff

Luongo/Pavelec

Will look into offloading Jokinen again near the deadline cause Howden is tearing it up in the AHL and needs to come up and play really. But we are doing so well, I'm not sure I should change what works though.
