Yep...good place for it. I dunno though. I have seen him play in person about 16 times. Never once did he stand out, cept on penalty shots. I just wonder about him and the hype around him. I actually hope he is not another Coyote bust...but he never helped Everett do anything, other than lose in the playoffs before his team was supposed to be knocked out .

I just don't get the right vibe from him. None of the Tips guys...Hamill, Beach, Ellington, Reekie and before them Gutierez,Lammers...have ever impressed me to thinking that they are gonna be doing much in the show. The only one who ever has is that darn Flame goalie guy...what's his name? Leiland? as in Irving...that is right

And all non-Oiler goalies in the NW are crying 8-)

Nah....that's the defensemen blocking the shots....Ouch. Course when you have no forwards that can score...the defensemen should be checked well and may never get to take a shot. :-D

I'm glad Souray went out the conference. I really didn't want him in the East - the Habs PK is mediocre at it's best - we don't need Souray blasting at Huet on some other teams PP.

I think he'll fit in ok with the Oil. Although, after losing their only defensive D-man in Smith, Souray is going to have even more massive issues with +/-. I'm betting he hits -50.

Souray would be a perfect fit for...every good team who already has 3 top Dmen. Like Vancouver. Not suggesting the Nucks should've signed him, just an example of what I mean by "3 top Dmen". He'll be playing 25-26 mins for the Oil I suppose and a lot of even strength. Souray is a one-trick pony and average defensively at best.

Heh 5 mill per season for a #4-6 defenseman, who can shoot? Nope. Canucks have Sami Salo...need for a guy like Souray and his shot is zero. Plus Salo can play...even strength and kill penalties. For um....3.5 mill. Edmonton is sooooooooo stupid. Souray better play that much in Edmonton Danny, I mean...they did make him umm...one of their highest (if not highest) paid player. BWAH BWAH BWAH

Oh and to score...you have to get the puck out of your own end. BWAH BWAH BWAH,...cept if Cloutier is playing.

Heard rumours of a Donovan-Schaefer trade between us and Sens. NHL.com has Schaefer as a Bruin and Donovan on the Sens roster :D

Yeah, I heard the Donovan-Schaefer thing too. I just looked at the Bruins website and saw Schaefer on the roster. Donovan wasn't listed. Sounds like a deal to me! I'm just surprised they haven't announced it yet. I usually get one of those "Cybear" emails when they make a deal.

The rumours appears to be true.

Also, Montreal just signed 6 players:
Josh Gorges
J-P Côté
Andrew Archer
Yann Danis
Duncan Milroy
Corey Locke

Wonder how many of them will make the team this year... :-?

Radio is reporting Donovan-Schaffer as done. Salary dump for Ottawa for guys who play basically the same role.

Holydogg: Only Josh Gorges has a chance.

With the slight difference that Donovan is rubbish and Schaefer...is not

Didn't he play a solid role on their 2nd line ? Donovan is hardly an NHL 4th liner anymore. But yeah, salary dump for Ottawa, they've got some big UFAs and RFAs next summer.

Anyway, I like this deal from the Bruins point of view, Schaefer is a very good 2 way player with a little bit of scoring talent, I can see him contributing with 20-25g 50p paired with someone like Bergeron or Savard.

Edit: Holy cr*p, it got replaced by rubbish. Oh well :p

Schafer is overrated. At best he is a 3rd liner, capable of killing penalties and filling in on a 2nd line occasionally. Donovan had a bad year in Boston. He was decent for the Flemmes.

To me, the deal is a wash. rubbish is my favorite word on this site. :-D

We're not exactly cup contenders. While Schaefer might be a 3rd line guy on a top team he should easily make it into the top 6 for us. Keep in mind, our left wing didn't look that impressive. Donovan was alright for the Flames but he's been cr*p (ha :p) for us and 1m p/a for a 4th liner isn't exactly good management. I do not have a problem with Donovan personally and wish him all the best but he's just been horrible for the Bs.

I like the deal. Donovan might have had a bad year last year but the only trait of his that I see as an asset is his speed. He's got hands of stone! He didn't bring anything to the team. He'd be a 4th liner on this Bruins team and I'd rather see that 4th line RW spot taken by a scrapper (Thornton and Reich are both under contract). Schaefer is a good two-way player that likes to play the boards. I understand he is impossible to get to shot but if we put him on a line with shooters, it won't be so bad.

It works for me!

Carolina re-acquires Matt Cullen. The Rangers get Hutchinson, Joe Barnes and a 3rd in exchange.

Todays second salary dump.

The Kings sign Thomas Hickey, the 4th overall pick, the Kings always sign there prospects early, they did it with Kopitar in 05, and with Bernier in 06, i believe that Hickey will spend at least one more year with Seattle in the WHL though, they want him to blossom still. The 25th ranked skater goes at number 4, ahead of Karl Alzner, big mistake Kings.

Oh hell yeah. Hickey will play in the Dub again next year, and perhaps the year after that. No way do the Kings bring this guy in as a teenager to their squad. No way, no how. He is no Jack Johnson. Likelihood, Hickey plays his first full season i the NHL at the age of 21 or 22.

He will also likely see a year or two with the Kings farm team after that. His development pattern will be similar to that of Luc Bourdon. I betcha Hickey has a great camp this season, not so good next year, and about what should be expected in his third season. :-D

I like Matt Cullen, ever since he was with the Ducks, one of the most underated players in the game. Good move by Cane's to get him back.

What in god's name are the Penguins up to? Poor Dany Sabourin, leaves Pit, goes back to Pit thinking good backup job...and now they sign Conklin? Holy schmoly.

Well, maybe they didn't feel okay with their two WBS goalies being rookies.

I suppose...Conklin can go there. My point was more..if they use Conklin as the backup in Pitt, Dany is going to be something widdled. Cause he went to Pitt to be the backup and get more games than he did with Roberto in net here. IF he goes to WBS, Dany may as well have stayed in VAn.

if i was sabourin, i would rather be the first choice in Wilkes-Barre, rather than a backup to Fleury, id rather play more hockey for a naff team, than not many for a good team, just my opinion though

Sabby is at least 28...He is going to be a backup and knows it. He needs to be in the show now.

Sharks sign 9th overall pick, Logan Couture, i think he'll go back to the 67's for another year, and develop like Hickey, this guys gonna be good though
