Those boards at Vantaa Trio Areena are so low. Almost got hit by a puck

Went there once already this season to see K-Vantaa - RoKi game since I live in southern Finland and RoKi plays their games in Lapland. Gonna head there this Saturday to see another RoKi game

I was thinking the same thing! I got there a bit early and sat through warm up, I had to keep my eye out! The puck went out a few times during the game too.

And HIFK 1 - 4 Tappara rounds out the Helsinki (region!) tour. Tappara gave up loads of turnovers but HIFK couldn't take advantage, despite the mistakes Tappara looked the stronger team. Both teams tired in the third, but particularly HIFK. Nice brerakaway goal for Laine, who played well.

What a feeling today in the maybe last home game of Espoo Blues. Was in the corner where fans pile up and just wow. Left me speechless

There was a banner which said "Kunnes kuolema meidät erottaa" They put it up when the game had few seconds left.

Any info on the latest developments on the issue of Espoo Blues, fellas? Last I read was they were denied the velkasaneeraus-deal, even though the arena company was allowed into it, and they are now looking for voluntary debt repayment, but that is up to the creditors if they approve or not.
If Blues is out of the league, I'll probably be too. Then it'll be all NHL for me.

Follow the British Elite League instead
Sad to hear about the Blues, I really wanted to take in a game there next time I'm in Finland

Nah. I'm curious because it's "exotic".

It's not in any way final, but there is the possibility of no more Blues next season. Time will tell.

I think today is the next big day since today is the last game of the season and today is also the day that after the failed velkasaneeraus-application they had one week to pay all depts or they will be bankrupt

Yeah, I just read something about voluntary velkasaneeraus, which means they would agree with the creditors on a plan, outside the court, but it was up to the creditors to approve it first.

Canucks - Jets from Monday evening. The Canucks were pretty bad, Jets looked much slicker

Looks awesome how much were the tickets?

About 90 cads (50 gbp roughly), which seemed a bit expensive given we were on the second to back row (I didn't book the tickets)

I watched the first two home games of Modos relegation battle against Leksand, ended up seeing one win and one OT loss. Fortunately I wasn't there for the OT loss in game 7, that would have been brutal seeing as I was pretty much in shock only watching it on the TV.

My brother and I are looking to go to some of World Championship games in Germany next year. I can't believe how expensive the tickets are. The semis and the final are outrageous! And I thought Premiership football prices were bad!...

We figured we'd get tickets for three group games and two quarter finals which is somewhat better value for money (but most likely sat at the back of the rink).

If you have interest, maybe we could meet for a beer or two.

That'd be good.

Although I think you're over in Hamburg, aren't you? That's quite a distance from Koln (where the WC is taking place next May).
I'm still trying to figure out if it'll work with the amount of annual leave I have left. I think I need something like 6 or 7 days' leave as we're planning to go via Monaco to watch the motor racing. I'll give you a shout nearer the time - assuming Koln is somehow workable.

I will try to stay for a few days there (and watch a few games) so it might work out. That would be pretty cool.

Just came home from Jokerit's home opening against Avangard. The season has not started too well for Jokerit. Sure, they have got over 50% of the possible points from the eight first matches, but the play itself has been unconvincing. Today, however, they showed signs for the better, as they had the match under control most of the time, despite never taking the lead. Jokerit came from behind three times, with the last equaliser finding the net with 0.5 seconds to go. Avangard took the extra point home, however, when both of their shootout-takers delivered while neither from Jokerit did.

A tutor ended up winning a box for his use for the Jokerit - Sibir match. Without free alcohol the brutal 0 - 4 score would have been painful to watch, but I am in a bar now and everything is fine.
