To bring this back on topic, there'll be another update tonight.

Updates will be coming more slowly from now on, as my exams start in 2 weeks!

You should hand the game off to someone who has more time to update more regularly.

I can volunteer. Or someone else, of course.

It'll be alright, it'll just mean most nights will be 1 update only.

Update done tonight, and check out who's interested in Andy Sundstrom

bruins72 wrote:No way. Dunkin is deeply entrenched in the US. I think the only place they're not huge is the west coast. There are a few Tim Hortons here but they don't make an impact. Plus, I was just reading an article in the paper and I saw something saying that Tim Hortons was bought by either Arby's or Wendy's. I can't remember which. The article was about Arby's buying out Wendy's. But it doesn't really matter. Your big coffee chain is owned by a second or third rate fast food chain. Here, Dunkin is the big dog and they own other chains.
I agree with bruins DD is scary in their coverage . I figure at least in connecticut their is one DD for about every three miles. In my city alone their are six dunkin donuts. of course being the North east USA were a bunch of crazy, high stressed maniacs, just try driving around Connecticut, or worse Boston or NYC
I'm living out in the sticks now, so my coverage isn't as good (which isn't a real loss since I can't drink coffee anymore) but in the city I lived most of my life in there had to have been at least a dozen Dunkins, just counting the ones I knew of. Although if you count the ones in gas stations... oh boy. There were probably a few more in parts of the city that I really didn't go around too. When I last lived there we had a Dunkin about 200-300 yards from my door then there was one about a mile away in one direction, and another about 1/2 a mile away in a gas station. Then another one about a mile from that. Plus there was another about a mile or two in another direction. I'm starting to think I may have low balled that dozen number. We've got 2 within a mile of my office too. It's insanity!

Back to the topic at hand though! Even though I've been missing from practice lately, it seems that I am still playing in games. I played 7 games in the past month. So at least we know I'm not lost in the wood of Maine. It seems my player is just a head case. Hey Calv, is there any chance you could take a peek at the new in my player history and see if there are any more details there? Maybe it might list dates he was missing from practice or something?

Oh and... OMG! What is up with that guy having all these NHL teams interested in him at the age of 16 or whatever we are now? That's crazy!

Is this year our draft year or the next one? I think the youngest to be drafted is 17... is that correct?

Hey, I'm actually moving up to the OHL? REALLY? that's spectacular!

Also, is there somewhere we can download the game file to snoop around at all? I was looking around a bit but couldn't find one.

Thanks!

Draft year is 18th. If you are 18 by Sept 15th you will be drafted that year. If 18 after Sep 15th..the next year

No d/l is available yet

Not bad. :-D Seems like my boy is in good hands this time.
Calv: It would be nice to know the coaching staff in Windsor and in London (Knights). :-D

hey B72 my guy says to tell your guy to start showing up in practice and to quit eating the donuts. He's tired of having to carry all the production. :-D

BTW I live in a town of 340k without a single Dunkin Donuts its in the Midwest btw.

What's the deal with Dunkin Donuts? Something exciting I should know about?

We have Tim Hortons here in Canada - their coffee is waaay overrated. Everyone drinks it, but it's just not that good. :thdn:

Sounds like I would enjoy B.Stinson's blend though.... ;)

All I have to say about my TBL star is I'm glad he's outperforming batdad.

Marek Timura:

Still on the high standard, 1g 1a per game...bring on the Import Draft!

J. Jorgensen
Played 40 games with 30 goals, 31 assists, +20, 38 PIMs and an average rating of 7.13
Wanted by Northern Michigan Wildcats & Mass.-Lowell River Hawks

Go Northern Michigan :-)

I still think it is weird that I can score that many points and have a fairly low average rating - I fear my player is one of the guys with 110-120 potential :-(

Oh well, at least I will get a free education and get to score lots of college chicks :joy:

It all goes back to batdad saying something about my player opening up a donut shop because I don't show up to practice. Dunkin Donuts started out as a New England donut and coffee shop chain and has grown into a huge business with franchises all over the place. There are still some parts of the US that they're not very big in but they've got heavy coverage along the east coast. You know how everyone cracks jokes about there being a Starbucks everywhere? Well that's Dunkin Donuts here. Starbucks is actually small business here. Dunkin has more of a general appeal.

Thunderbug... seriously, it's not the donuts. I think he had to take up a part time job fighting bears for the tourists just to get by. He's got a wife and 3 kids to take care of. :-p

I really do wonder where I went wrong creating my player that he is such a headcase?

HOLY rubbish!!! January was a good month for my guy.

11GP 8G 13A...and that brings my season to over a PPG rate! :)

Just out of curiosity...and I think this is more for the next couple of seasons, will be keeping an eye on the World Juniors? I realize not many 16 year olds will make it, but the next two seasons many of us might.

by bruins72
That should be pretty interesting to see. I wouldn't be surprised to see maybe one or two of us make the Word Juniors as 17 year olds. At 18 there could be a good number of us though. If my player were good enough to be selected, he'd probably miss the plane. ](*,)

yeah World Juniors is an interesting point. I can see my player making them soon as I am only slovakian star rising up out of all the created players...

World Juniors would be really cool! With three other Canadian TBL goalies plus all the regular Canadian goalies, it might be a long shot to even make the team, nevermind actually playing. It'll be interesting to see how this goes over the next few years.

Really? You think so? Won't be long. I have all the potential you know. My ratings are based solely on the fact that Chilliwack sucks

Mannnn I don't get it:

Lantz Leiweke:
Played 60 games with 42 goals, 53 assists, +25, 82 PIMs and an average rating of 7.2

95 pts in 60 games, +25 and still only a 7.2 -- I have the fifth most goals out of all the TBL guys.

Oh well, maybe I'll crack 100 pts for the first time in my career. No better time to do it than in my rookie season in the Q.
