I find it kind of annoying how the USA U18 team never has any good prospects after Matthews. None of the players on that team ever get close to cracking an NHL roster when in real life they're full of talent. It's almost the same with a lot of junior teams. Almost all of the 1st round players come from the same few junior teams, like Acadie-Bathurst and Val d'Or.

That is due to a lack of researchers.
If we had anyone interested in updating the USHL then it would improve.
For the upcoming release the NAHL has been updated with (14-15) rosters so it should improve US draftees

Could it also be the facility rating? I would think a team like that would be nearly maxed. I think its a good or average.

I just raised their Club reputation and Training facilities. We'll see if it helps

Why do I keep seeing teams offer a contract to a player and then give up on the deal once the player agrees to the contract? In my challenge save, I've seen this happen over and over again with Boone Jenner. First the Blue Jackets did it, then they traded his rights to the Sharks and then they started doing it.

My highest paid player got injured for 7 months and the league is now bombing me with salary floor fines. I wonder if this is the case in real NHL-rules? My 'estimated club salary' went down by 6 million(his pay).

As far as i know this should not happen. As long as you were above the cap floor prior to his injury you shouldn't be getting fined.

I'm assuming you need to restart your game, start from the beginning with the new rules in place. I don't have it either.

I don't think there is one.
I think the game automatically selects your centres and two d-men from the even strength lines

Another thing on the 3on3, not enough games finish in it, i understand it's a new feature but almost all my OT games go to a shootout, should be atleast 50/50 probably more towards 1/3 going to shootout.

Yup, i'm using new db 8.0..new season new game, the only thing lack is the tactic for 3on3 OT..it weird my team choosing my 4th line center as one of the skater..

Limit your forward use to "Only three" or something like that once you get to overtime. Try dressing forwards at defense.
Maybe that is why so few games end during overtime? Too many defensemen playing

You can also specify to play two forwards or two dmen.

You can? I haven't played in a while and didn't look to hard at tactics when I did play so I did not notice that

I have two forwards set, and almost all my OT-games end in a shootout.

Is it just me or has PP opportunites skyrocketed recently. Not sure which patch could have caused this cause I wasn't paying enough attention. But I thought penalties were brought down to a somewhat realistic level previously but now I see that finding games with less then 7 PP opportunites are hard to find! I myself get about 8-12 in each and every game, most games I check though have between 7-12 PP. I assume it's the AI that is the problem though. Cause my team is WAY behind the rest of the league in times shorthanded, something like 30-ish, I think it was. And considering my team has, like I said, between 8-12 PP every single game more or less, I can only assume the AI coaches play way to hard across the board.
It's not funny anymore having half the game going on the PP and very little result is seen from them.

I have same experience too. Also have noted, that there are very little shot attempts during OT.

Guys, it would be great if you report those bugs on the SI forums.

Haven't expirenced too many problems other than the lack of scoring in OT and a high volume of power plays. Love that trading has become a bit more difficult

One thing that has really bugged me is the lack of ability to call a timeout. Is that not possible or am I missing something?

I've noticed that Empty Net goals get scored far too often and about 50% of the time 2x EN goals get scored in a game...that's just way too high

I agree on the EN goals thing, and that not enough games are finishing in OT, but in SO instead. However, having done a long-term sim for stats, overall the game produces some unbelievably accurate numbers for the NHL, at least for 2014-15 real life data; it's very impressive and almost uncanny. Everything major like goals, points, gaa, sv% etc. is spot on. Gotta give huge congrats to SI and TBL database editing guys for that. The only problems I've found are are very minor: penalties too high (about one per team per game), team shots on goal are too low (about one per team per game) and that the amount of games going to OT is realistic but the amount ending in SO, not 3v3, is too high *EDIT* forgot to add that the best faceoff men are way too good: 60% in real life vs about 70% in EHM.
My problem now, which is still stopping me really getting into EHM as a believable simulator, is the lack of variety in my game scores (these are games from my second save, the first one I deleted for the same reason!):
3-2 (OT)
2-1
2-3 (SO)
2-3 (SO)
3-2 (OT)
2-3 (SO)
3-4
3-2 (OT)
2-3
Two sets of three identical scores. Within the first six minutes of every game bar one of these ^ there had been at least one goal and sometimes two. Out of 27 periods, only three were scoreless . My starter gave up exactly 2 goals in every game for eight games in a row. (I'm playing team tactics of defensive mentality, selective shooting and puck dumping often on a Ducks team which lacks scoring but has some good two-way forwards - but in my first save game I had two offensive lines and two defensive lines with lots of fine-tuning to the team and individual tactics and still had exactly the same problem). It just feels (to me) a bit too much like the game is following a formula for the games involving teams I manage, rather than being (pseudo)random. For comparison, here are the real-life Ducks' scores from October this year:
0-2
1-2 (SO)
0-4
0-3
4-1
1-5
0-3
0-1 (OT)
3-4
1-2
This seems to be happening whether I coach/just watch/avoid my games altogether, which I remember used to change the scoring in EHM2007 going by something written on here. Is anyone else noticing anything like this? Still, a brilliant game overall.

Nope, my season so far:
4-3 so
2-4
0-6
5-3
1-3
5-2
0-2
3-2
0-4
2-4
3-1
3-4 so
3-4
1-5
0-3
Yeah, I know. I had a bad start...
