Hi, it's probably compressed. In-game go to preferences, and un-tick "save compressed". Then save you game again and try again in the editor.

What tournament are you talking about?

Its in the title ;) Its what i call in swedish "Junior-VM", i think its called "World Juniors" or "U-20 World cup" in english.

Could it have something to do with "priority" i can see that the World Cup, the World Championship and the World Juniors all have 10 in priority, which i ofc thought where the highest but saw now that KHL and the NHL have 11. So do anyone know the highest possible number here and what it does?

I don't really think it's the priority. It may be a matter of reputation. Try setting it at 20 and see what happens.

That's exactly right. The saved game must not be compressed.

I'll try to remember to add the error descriptions to the upcoming version of the Editor.

Awesome, thanks guys for the help.

archibalduk, I gotta say, this Editor is a complete game changer for me. Incredible work, it makes the game so much more fun. Is there a way/are there plans to be able to Filter through players by attributes. For example, players under 24 with a potential of at least xxx? If not, is there any way to just get a dump of all the players + attributes? I know you can Export some player data, but it seems to not include attributes.

For the sorting bit you could instead use the EHM Asisstant, http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 10&t=13874

You can also export using that tool, but i've never tried it so dont know how it works.

The first version of the competition rules and structures import/export is pretty much complete. From a technical perspective it does what it is supposed to, but I haven't had much luck getting a database to work yet. That said, I haven't been able to do much testing as I need to continue working on other parts of the Editor (the more I test, the longer it'll take to make more progress with the Editor). Hopefully a few users will be interested in testing it out when I release the next version (no ETA at the moment).

Thanks! I do have plans to expand the exporting abilities of the Editor. The current exporting function (i.e. the "Export Model" function) is really just for my own testing. My plan is to add similar exporting functions to those found in the EHM Updater (which are probably similar to the Assistant). I also want to add a report generator which will enable filtered exporting (e.g. to create a research sheet for chosen competitions and/or player nationalities - and hopefully to generate the sort of testing spreadsheets that Nino currently creates by hand).

I will probably start work on some basic exporting after the next version I release (as the exporting goes hand in hand with the importing functions I'll be working on at that time).

Can I just ask, is there anyway to delete leagues or make them dormant? The reason I'm asking is because I'm going to start to try and make a British Premier League where the Elite League and the English Premier League all play as part of the same league. I'm going to not do any conferences and not have any playoffs, just a straight league with the champions crowned at the end of it.

Yes, you could do that. You'd need to remove those leagues where they appear in the Rules & Structures screen along with any entries in the Transfer Rules, Ruling Body and Schedules (i.e. those that specifically relate to those leagues rather than the general Great Britain entries). Then remove all teams from those leagues. I would expect that would be sufficient.

That's great to hear. I'll get cracking with that tomorrow then. I suppose I could get rid of the NHL the same way (not that I have a thing against the NHL but they are still pinching my players and it's a tad annoying!!)?

Once again, it cannot be expressed in words just how great this editor is, so thank you very much is the best I can do!

The NHL, I suspect, may be a special case because the game insists on it being Selected or Enhanced. So you might find you cannot remove that league.

Thanks for the kind words. :-)

Have a wee problem with this. I cannot, for whatever reason, delete anything from the editor. Gives me an error message saying that I can't delete any rows?

Going to be a bit of real trial and error here, but I think, I think, I'm getting there with doing a 12 team Elite League and keeping the English Premier League the same - just creating a couple of new teams to the main division.

Guys, I think I'm nearly there but I have one more question then I pretty much think I've got it.

I've managed to create a 12 team Elite League with a schedule that seems to be working correctly, although I am testing it as we speak. What I've done to add the Hull Stingrays and Newcastle Vipers to the Elite League - placed the into Conferences and I get them to come up on the League screen. However, the problem lies here. I cannot select Hull or Newcastle to play as them and they don't show up on players histories etc. Tried putting players into the teams but just cannot get it to work

Any ideas?

ALSO, just managed to sim a whole season, however when it finishes on the final day I get this message:

'CUSTOM_LEAGUE::add_history_record()-invalid stage for history record, stage 2 (Elite Ice Hockey League)'.

Would I be right in thinking this may be tied to the new teams I've added? Newcastle won the league and wonder if it's tied to that? I also deleted the playoff stage to the Elite League as I wanted just a straight league. Interestingly enough, it lets me keep playing the game.

Sorry - perhaps the items cannot be deleted using the version of the Editor you have (I have added some more deletion options in the upcoming version of the Editor). The error you get is because I have not yet implemented the deletion functions yet (rather than it being an error with the Editor/database).

It sounds like you have not updated a setting somewhere to reflect the additional teams. There is a stage for history record setting in the Rules & Structures settings so it might be that. But I'd expect it to be something else given that you cannot select the teams. Have you, for instance, set the additional teams' league and detailed division settings via the Leagues editing screen?

Totally stumped. I've updated the number of teams in the settings in basic data in the Elite in the competitions - rules and structures. I've also updated the number of teams in the in stages heading in the same section. Ive updated Hull and Newcastle to be in the respective conferences in the league too so I'm not sure?

I've added compatibility with reading EHM 2005 databases and reading/writing EHM 2007 databases (currently working on writing EHM 2005 databases). Converting a database from EHM 2005 to EHM 2007 is now possible and I've just tested it out. It's not quite that straightforward as you have to copy certain files from an EHM 2007 database because EHM 2005 either does not have them (e.g. drafts.dat) or the version it has is incomplete (e.g. colour.dat).

The downside is that the club competitions are in a different order compared with EHM 2007 and the Import function in EHM 1 does not like this. So it's going to take a bit of work to rearrange things - and of course there will be some leagues that will need the number of clubs changed. But I think it is very doable and something I'm going to continue working on whilst I also work on other aspects of the Editor. If I can figure out the EHM 2004 DB format then I'll add that as an option too. 8-)

I have downloaded the DB and will take a look tomorrow.

IMO we are only scratching the surface right now. There are heaps of settings and it's hard to say for certain what is and isn't hardcoded. It just needs a lot of us to experiment and share our findings.
