Oops! I forgot to take the trades screenshot on July 1st. What shall I do about it and what will my punishment be?

Not only the trades shot, I'm afraid. The standings as well

BANISHMENT FROM THE CHALLENGE!

Jk.

I suck with punishment. Let Bruins come up with it.

Were you able to get the trades screen shortly after July 1st? That one isn't a big deal if it's done a little late because we're clicking back one to look at the previous year. The standings screen (what about your player stats and playoff results?) is a bit of a bigger deal. You can't really go back and get that one after July 1st has passed. I'm not sure what we'll have to do there. That's a tough one because that's basically your proof for your whole season's results.

I have a save from the 4th of June. I could go back to it. I'll only have to redo the Import draft and nothing much else so it wouldn't be too bad for me.
The stats I took in May as we're now supposed to

Honestly, you could just load the save from June, take your screenshots for the standings and then close the game. You'd have your standings screenshots. You said you've already got your stats screens. And it's okay to do your Trades one a little late. So I think you could then reload your save where it is now and suffer no penalties.

Now that the Upload Tool is up and running, I'll be working on collating the Challenge 17 stats and uploading them to the site. I'll do this as quickly as I can, but as you know the sheer number of stats means that is will take a little while.

You'll see that in the Challenge Centre there is an issue with the Latest Standings box. This is because the Challenge 17 stats haven't been uploaded yet. This issue will disappear once I have done so.

Ooops, I accidentaly signed Mathieu Leclair (G) October 5th 2006. RFAs are allowed to sign till October 1st. I gave him an offer sometime in September and now he accepted. I confirmed it  What is less wrong now? Keep him or release him? I can easily release him :dunno:
Sorry and thanks for any clarification.

He's one of your unsigned prospects (I haven't had a chance to start my game yet, so the name isn't familiar to me)? If so, go ahead and keep him. You're only off by a few days and it's a relatively minor error.

Yes, he was Drakkar's unsigned prospect. OK then, thanks.

Besides I don't think he's going to help much anyway :-D

This team though ](*,)

Yeah, that's why I don't mind releasing him. But maybe his time will come...

First challenge ever here, wanted to verify that the no-movement rules for Season 1 apply to signing new staff as well?

Sorry, the challenge rules weren't that clear, the only mention of Staff is here:
5.2 No trades, waiver acquisitions or UFA acquisitions may be signed whatsoever during Season 1. You may, however, renew contracts with your own players and staff at any time.
But "trades, waiver acquisitions or UFA acquisitions" doesn't really apply to staff...

Just want to make sure, as Baie-Comeau doesnt' have an assistant GM OR a Head Coach... am I allowed to sign a Head Coach as well?

Challenge rules:
9.4 If you wish to sign another Head Coach, you must sign somebody who has been contracted to your team for at least the past six months.

9.5 If the challenge team has no head coach at the start of the game (i.e. the team has a GM/Head Coach who leaves when you take over the job), you may hire a head coach from outside the organization. This only applies to starting the game! Once the 1st regular season game is played, you are no longer allowed to directly hire a head coach from outside the organization.
So yes, you're allowed to hire head coach from outside the organisation if you don't have one (that's the case of Drakkar's first season).

Yup, McQwak has you covered there.

LoXish, please make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page on the rules. There is a whole section (section 9) dedicated to staff rules. Please make sure you read them.

I have read both Section 9 and the first season rules as well as all the others. I understand the need to hire a coach from outside of the organization but that's not my question, my question was can staff hiring (IE: Asst. GM) be done in the first season? Maybe it's just me, but the rules don't seem clear.

Yes, you may hire and fire as much as you like with AGM and physios/trainers.
9.2 You may fire no more than one assistant coach and two scouts per season. You may, however, sign as may assistant coaches and scouts per season as you wish. You may hire and fire as many other types of non-playing staff as you like (e.g. physios, assistant GMs, etc).

As long as the player you traded away has been with your team for more than a year than you are good. Trading rules are section 6 under Gameplay Rules.

Ahh darn i traded away a player i drafted and signed in summer, will go back to a save before trade...darn i was on a great winning streak, the player i got in the trade was very good in that run so i want this to be fair. Still sucks.

Alright, I need some clarification.

I'm 5 games into Season Two with the Drakkar and Gatineau has signed my head coach away from me. ](*,)

According to the rules, I can't sign a UFA non-player as a head coach but must instead appoint one from one of my current assistant coaches/scouts. Do I have this right? :-?
