The Flames thrashed the Tigers 8-3 yesterday. It was so one-sided that it got pretty dull pretty quick. Although there were some very good goals scored. I can't imagine the Peterborough game on Wednesday will be much more exciting. Although I don't know if I'll get home from work in time to make the game.

I hate that when you have a season ticket and work gets in the way
Steelers lost in overtime last night to Coventry

Coventry are looking good. Nottingham, on the other hand, not so good. I suspect the Panthers and Steelers are still getting into gear. As much as I'd love to see the Stars finish near the top, I can't imagine them lasting the full stretch of the season.

I missed last night's game against Peterborough. Not because of my job, but because all of my trains were cancelled or delayed. Still, it sounds like it was a pretty straightforward game for the Flames so it's probably not the worst game to miss. At least I'll have a car again this weekend.

That sucks. Of all the games to miss... I ended up missing the mid-week game against the Phantoms a few weeks back because my train was delayed. And then I missed the following game because I was still driving home from up North. I hate missing games because it feels like money down the drain.

Cracking win against MK Lightning last night. We won 4-0. Great to get a shutout against a top 4 team. And a great result seeing as a lot of our top players were unavailable and we lost to Basingstoke the night before (another top 4 team).
Up until last night, the Flames hadn't had a single fight at home this season. Then in the course of about 10 minutes we had 2 fights and one hell of a line brawl. It was brewing all game but, with the exception of a fight following a post-whistle shot on our goalie, it looked like that was going to be it. However, about 1 minute from the buzzer, the Flames sent their enforcer out (Andrew Sharp). He proceeded over to McPherson and they had a fight (Sharp arguably got won that one).
From the faceoff after the fight, two of the MK players jumped two of the Flames players. One of the Flames players jumped fell to the ice and had his hands over his head whilst the MK player was laying into him. Sharp wasn't too happy with this, so he helped himself out of the box, threw his helmet into the face of an MK player and then laid into the other MK guy laying into his prone team mate. After he'd finished with him, he wanted another go at McPherson (or might have been Leigh Jamieson) but the ref put a halt to that. So instead Sharp goes skates off to the MK fans and goads them. I'm not a fan of fighting or goading fans, but it was pretty funny.
The game highlights aren't available yet, but somebody had uploaded some mobile phone footage which captures the bulk of it fairly well (it captures the second half where Sharp jumps out and launches his helmet):
204 PIM in total!

I agree with the former, but not the latter. There are girls in the UK, but they're all taken by MWE.

We've lost arguably our best player (Rick Plant) to Telford. Thankfully we a few players and could potentially step up and fill the void on the first line. But it's a big blow to lose our top points scorer (averaging nearly 2 pts per game) and somebody who was always very consistent. He had been with the Flames for 15 years.
Telford (or TĀ£lford as they're starting to be known as) have recently come under new ownership and it seems they have cash to splash. They've made some big signings already this season - such as Dan Scott and Adam Walker. This is hopefully good news for the league. Telford always struggle at the wrong end of the league. Hopefully they will be a lot more competitive either this season or next.

Sounds like they just kicked your team to last place archi. Because we all know that you only need one of these guys who are borderline able to play on the 5th line on a team in Slovakia, and are the top level guns in your league....to be the BESTEST TEAM IN ENGLAND EVAH.
I mean Hand is what 55 now....and is definitely the GOrdie Howe of your league, but in Canada we call him....
