Downloaded the new rosters yesterday and started playing as the Nottingham Panthers, a few errors I noticed with the Panthers specifically;

There are two Mathieu Gagnon's, both from the same city, same age, weight (I think) but both have different career histories.

Mathieu Coderre-Gagnon (Missing career history from previous season or two)
Mathieu Gagnon (Career history is wrong, unless there's another Mathieu Gagnon)

Deivids Sarkanis is still part of the roster

Tetlow and Kelsall should ideally be two-way contracts rather than loanee's but that doesn't bother me too much.

Start of the season features all Challenge Cup games in a row, about 6 games in consecutive days which isn't the best way to start a season.

If I'm being really pedantic too, Patrick Galbraith is still with Krefeld rather than with the Panthers too.

I'll go through the other 11 teams when I next go on. Brilliant job with the update though.

Had a play about today after Christmas dinner and literally into my first save:

Mathieu Coderre-Gagnon 29/10/1992 is correctly at Panthers
Mathieu Gagnon 2/11/1992 should be at Ducs d'Angers in France

MK Lightning are still listed as 'Semi-Pro' in the database (making them the only Semi-pro team in the EIHL) and need to lose the affiliation with MK Thunder (Possibly add an affiliation with Peterborough Phantoms).

Thanks very much Panther B. We'll look into fixing each of the points you raise above except for the following:

- Tetlow and Kelsall - I'm not sure we can set two-ways in the DB (which is why they're as loans). I'll double-check.
- Challenge Cup - Yeah this is a known issue (along with the NIHL cups). No matter what schedules I set, the first couple of months are stacked with matches. Once the EIHL is properly up and running (i.e. with the correct intra/inter-conference games and standings) I'll take another look.
- Patrick Galbraith - This trade occurred after the roster freeze which is why he is not on Panthers' roster (we freeze the rosters as at NHL opening night - i.e. 4 October).

Swindon Wildcats and Telford Tigers (senior teams) need to be set to Semi-pro
Blackburn Hawks Senior needs to be set to semi-pro, Hawks 2 set to amateur.

Mark Lee (G) 26/12/1987 probably needs retiring
Stevie Lyle (G) hasn’t showed up anywhere this season and can’t see an elite or NIHL side taking a chance on him. Maybe retire him as a player via the ext_config?

(Both players signed by the Guildford AI coach at the start of my save, and Will/Carrozzi released)

Yeah agreed on all. Stevie Lee "retired" a number of years ago but ended up continuing to play for various reasons. I think he should be a Head Coach now.

I wonder if Hawks should be semi-pro or amateur. I guess probably semi-pro.

Hawks have a good few ex-EPL guys so guessing they’re paying some wages? And if there’s a Senior and NIHL side would be strange for them both to be amateur?

It’s not a great ‘model’ for our level of hockey but:

Elite = Pro
Teams who pay some wages proper = Semi-pro
‘Expenses’ and ‘Pay to Play’ = Amateur

Just need to identify which team suits what description.

I don't think any NIHL teams pay wages (except possibly the former EPL teams). Teams like Invicta provide basic expenses and, for the imports, housing.

It's a tough one to make the current definitions 'fit', especially as a Semi-pro team can effectively 'poach' a player from an amateur side in the game (as amateur players are unpaid).

I'll put a few other things in here as they're visible to the rest of the community:

Jackson Whistle (Belfast) is only eligible for Canada in the db. in real-life he's been included in Team GB squads. He is correctly identified as 'British' nationality as he's not classed as an import, either de-select his 'eligible' nationality or set it to 'British'

Conor Redmond (Oxford) is classed as an import by the league (NIHL). However he has played the requisite seasons here to be classed as 'British-Trained' so think he should have GB as his primary nationality (not an import) with him declared as Irish for his second nationality as a work-around.

Liam Stewart (Guildford) should have New Zealand primary nationality (Import) and British secondary I think (declared for Britain). Story I heard was he needed special dispensation from the IIHF to play internationally, having not played in either of his 'home' nations long enough to be eligible.

Grant McPherson (MK Thunder) is set as Coach. He should be 'Player Coach'

Lewis Clifford (MK Thunder) is still at MK Lightning as coach. He is now the MK Thunder Head Coach (Possibly GM/Head Coach as he has recruited a lot of the ex-Lightning players this season, if so move Dave Fairhurst to 'Chairman')

I really think Affiliations should have a look at. Sheffield and Nottingham in particular are signing up loads of U18 players and sending them down to their affiliates when they really only have 2 or 3 'apprentice' players on the books in real life.

Duplicates:

'Richard Thornton' and 'Richie Thornton' are both in the db, same DOB (4.10.1982). 'Richard' has the more complete player history. Guessing 'Richie' is a refugee from an earlier version who had better stats as he gets signed by Steelers in my game! Retire 'Richie'

Yes affiliations really need updating. You are welcome to take a look if you like. I have prepared a new online research sheet and have emailed the link to you.

My Grandad (WW2 Royal Artillery) always used to tell me "Never volunteer for anything lad, always wait for the 'deadly pointing-finger' " :-D

I'll have a look at it mate. Will sim through another season, then make some changes and check the effects.

Brett Perlini (Nottingham) is Canadian (Primary) and British (Secondary) nationality in the db. This means he is classed as an import in the EIHL (and pushed Nottingham's allocation over 14 meaning the AI will release one at game-start).

Suggest the usual work-around of him being British (Primary) and Canadian (Secondary) so he's not classed as an import. Either de-select his national team-declaration or set it to 'British'. It was confirmed in articles when he signed that he would not count as an 'import' and this is actually mirrored by his nationality on Elite Prospects. (Only just spotted this one myself).

Not sure if its already been noted but Brett Perlini in listed in the latest database revision as a Canadian, IE requiring a work permit to play in the EIHL when in face he doesn't due to playing junior hockey in the UK (the same as Jackson Whistle the Netminder for Belfast). While these guys have a first nationality of Canadian, to save a huge re-write in terms of strange EIHL rule they should be essentially a British National with Canadian duel nationality, this will work around it.

Hi, some feedback from some NIHL South teams!

Lee Valley Lions:
Oliver Glover plays for the Lions, not Scott Glover (looks like the wrong Glover was added) - Scott should be a free agent
Oliver Glover primarily plays forward (although he can play both positions)
Daniel Tamasauskas is British trained so should not count as an import (1st nationality UK, 2nd nationality Lithuania)

London Raiders:
Jack Cooper plays defence these days (forward can remain as a second, weaker position)
Sean Barry plays defence only

Haringey Huskies:
Ryan Payne plays defence only
Alastair Band primarily plays forward (although he can play both positions)
Mark Voslinsky can also play defence (he can play both positions)
Team colour scheme should change to black, white and silver (similar to LA Kings)

Free agents:
Matthew Hamilton plays defence only
Jarvis Mewett plays defence only
Ashley Earll plays defence these days (forward can remain as a second, weaker position)
Taylor Wootton plays forward only

Create Arran Hartley (defenceman) with UK nationality (in real life he joined Lee Valley Lions mid-season) - http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=576143
Create Matthew Jackson (defenceman) with UK nationality (in real life he joined Lee Valley Lions mid-season) - https://mkcyclones.com/player/matt-jackson/

Hi Folks

Downloaded the Latest TBL Roster update 13.0, but its missing the detailed rosters for the Lower British Leagues (i'm sad and enjoy playing as London Raiders).

Is there anyway of getting the old database and/or will the Lower British League Rosters be added?

Hey Eddie, do you happen to still have the DB that had those leagues set up? I can look into them and possibly port them over. Send me a friend request on Steam.

So the most recent privot rosters of the EIHL finiances are completely wrong? First time I have ever noticed this. Basically all teams seem to pay their top players only £7,000 or so which is not right and the total salary spending seems to hover around £200,000 which again is far too low.

A few teams, Hull Seahawks of the NIHL for example have 'Manchester Phoenix' set as their rival, as do Sheffield Steelers. I guess this is meant to be 'Manchester Storm'
