Awesome! That's realistic IMO, and thus a great "challenge" (often you see a significant number of participants make the playoffs and a few even make a run for the Cup/win the Cup in season one; I wonder if it'll be that way this time...doesn't sound like it!)

m0fownz0r wrote:Or at least tank hard S1, then trade for some decent players able to play in the Top 9/4
Don't forget about the new draft lottery system...finishing last doesn't guarantee you the #1 pick

Are we allowed to release players or buy out contracts?

In my own game CBL and MIN has 23 players. (I'm WIN and took most of the FA's)
I'm not playing the challenge though.

Yepp.. But it will be fine with Lecavalier, Langkow and Richards.. :) Atm Lecavalier has 51p in 55 games, and Langkow 38p in 57 games!

Yes, Janney retires early because of medical issues (IRL), so they included that in the DB.

Hmmm... Ok, i tried to make a super offensive tactic, i think it worked..
Craig Janney win the league in points, 92p! Lecavalier 72p as a rookie.. Selivanov 42 goals, Tucker 39 goals and Clark 33 goals..
Cross 65p and Kubina 63p.. Now time for playoff!

Jagr just got moved to the Canadiens for 20 yr old Michal Ryder 1 for 1. Pittsburgh to Montreal in S3. =D>

Managed to pick-up 3 solid roster additions without giving up much. It was time for Langkow to kick it. Clark has no trade value and is a solid 4th liner.

This is my first challenge and I may not even register my progress(I just want to try out and see how it goes) but I have a question. Do I have to coach all of the exhibition games as well?

Dont know if everyone like it.. I scored the most goals, thats positive. On the otherside i consealed like the 5th most and had a horrible boxplay. I just made it to playoff, and was kicked out by Philly in second round.
I need a defensive minded center and maybe som wings for 3-4th line.. Gonna trade away Wilkie and Ciccone, i rhinkig of Micheal Peca to replace Janney. :)

Sen Vinny back to juniors and 6 games in i sent Kubina and Langkow down to AHL, team is so bad anyways so might aswell try to keep Cleveland good in the AHL :P They'll probably jump up and down between AHL and NHL all season.

Edit: Nevermind on Kubina, back after 2 games :P

No, you don't.

You should however consider registering your progress, that's a big part of the fun. You shouldn't worry too much about the stats though, jsut enjoy the ride, see what other did differntly.. have fun :)

I'm way below the salary floor in the start of the season. Any recommendations on what I could do?
