Sometimes as GM you are forced to make decisions that the fans and ownership just don't like.
How did you trade two players and acquire two players in the same season of a challenge?
6.11 You may now make a maximum of two trades per season.
One straight up 1-for-1 deal is allowed. You may send one player out and you may accept one player in return. Nothing more.
AND
One player for pick or pick for player deal is allowed.

Made those trades on July 1st. The start of season 3. I can't make any trades for season 3 now.

What he means is that you can't do two (1 player vs 1 player) trades in a single season.
Let say on July 1st you did (Weber vs Andersson) and (Shaw vs Kyrou).
Then you'd have broke the rule that says you only can make (1) trade 1 player vs 1 player per season.
Hope that helps

Unless you had a backup save somewhere ? Challenge stats can be reset when needed, so if you have a backup save before those trades, you could normally continue from there

Did you make a 1 for 1 player trade in Season 2?

I made two trades in season 2:
Jordie Benn for Sean Durzi
Al Montoya for a 3rd round pick

No backup save. Oh well. I guess I can wait on the judgement of one of the admins on this.

That's really unfortunate you have no backup save...
We're only a couple weeks into the Challenge, with six weeks to go - any interest in starting again?

Going to get around to starting S3 tonight. Hopefully repeat Stanley Cup Champions in S2.
Currently 1st in the NHL with a record of 42-16-7.
Round 1: Swept the Senators 4-0
Round 2: Beat the Bruins 4-1
Round 3: Lost to New Jersey 4-2
Will update this post as I do the playoff series.

Just finished S2 - 7th in the East and swept by the eventual champs, TB (16-0-1).
MaxPac priced himself out of Montreal by requesting a 9.5m contract (got Hampus Lindholm for him.)
19th RW Per Konell from Sweden
50th RW Graeme Clarke from OHL
69th G Cam Rowe from USHL (#1 ranked goalie prospect)
81st RW DJ Busdeker from OHL
Signed LW Rick Nash (1 year/3 mil)
rolling the following lines for season 3:
Nash-Galchenyuk-Drouin
Lehkonen-Danault-Gallagher
De la Rose-Bozak-Baun
Deslauriers-Gregoire-Scherbak
x McCarron, Reway
Lindholm-Weber
Alzner-Petry
Mete-Nygren
x Morrow
Price
Lindgren
Bring on season 3!

Had to restart the season, because I messed up. Not doing quite as well as the first time around, but that's because I had to deal with an injury to Price. I'll still make the playoffs though. I feel pretty confident in that.
For now I'm just writing down my quarterly stats while I wait for my stats to be reset

Wow. I'm 10-0-1 in my last 11 and I've managed to move from 6th in the conference to 5th.

That's beyond my ability to actually do; I've asked Arch to do so

No worries. I've been keeping track of my stats and checking to see if I can input them or not. So it's not a big deal.

All done. It usually takes me a couple of days as it involves me messing around with the server database.

Season Two Mid-Point Update
22-13-5 is good enough for 6th in the East
Scoring Leaders: Galchenyuk (33), Pacioretty (29), Gallagher (28), Drouin (25), Lehkonen (24)
Morrow (17), Friberg (8), & Lindgren (3-3-2) have been pleasant surprises
Jenner (8) has been a huge disappointment with his AvR of 6.49
Watching the trade market and hoping to pick up a solid 2C before the deadline. Also need to get Patch under contract but his ask is high
I've completely altered my player & unit tactics but can't score anywhere near what you guys are reporting. Hmmmm....
Laval is off to a 18-10-3 start
Scoring Leaders: Reway (26), Carr (25), Bitten (21), Holland (19 in 14gp), Scherbak (19)

Season 2 lineup...
Paciroretty - Galchenyuk - Drouin
Jenner - Danault - Gallagher
Byron - Holland - Shaw
Lehkonen - Froese - Friberg
Alzner - Weber
Mete - Petry
Benn - Nygren
Price
Montoya

So I traded Max Pacioretty for Timo Meier. I get a younger forward, with some hands, and size, and a lengthy contract that is still considerably less than what I was paying Max or was going to be paying Max. Since the trade I've gone 1-5-3 and find myself out of a playoff spot.

Tried signing Nygren but he didn't seem interested in coming over - I must have missed out on a window of timing.
I'm look at Patch trade options right now.

I managed to sign Nygren. Had him paired with Benn, but I found the pairing to be too weak, so I put Alzner with him and that seemed to improve the pairing. I think I'll be looking to add a defender in the off season. Haven't really decided yet.

Traded away Montoya in the new year. Mid way through March I lost Lindgren...no problem, because I still have Price. Two games later I lost Price. Now Michael McNiven is goalie. Good news is that both Lindgren and Price will be back soon. I'm barley hanging onto 5th spot right now with only 5 games left to go in the season.
