Mario, Patron Saint of Pittsburgh gets it done again

I think that most owners would have taken the KC offer. The one they're getting even with the new place in Pitt won't be as profitable as that offer was. Also, they still have to wait until 2010 while KC is ready to go right now.
So, I'm glad that Mario played his heart over his head here and kept them in Pitt. And credit where credit is due, Mario said that it was really Good Ole Gary getting involved in the latest round of talks that really got things moving again.
Stability = good

I wonder if they'll have more Stanley Cup Championship Banners to move by the time they need to hang them in the new barn
One thing I really liked hearing Mario interviewed today was he wanted to build a kind of retro type stadium and even mentioned The Old Barn the Chicago Stadium. I would love it if that happens and becomes a trend away from these giant empty warehouses like the replacement United Center or LA's Staples Center.

The clip they showed on TV here had Mario saying that the new deal will keep the Penguins in Pittsburgh for 30 years. So folks, mark your calendars! When the night falls on March 14th, 2037, the 70-something Mario will try to take advantage of the darkness and smuggle the Pens out of town.
