hmm...
i simply deleted the EHM folder before, because i couldn't even get the program to come up in add/remove programs. after re-install #1 it did show up, so i uninstalled, and reinstalled time #2. it still crashes. =/

fireholder, pardon me if any of my suggestions have been mentioned... does your computer exhibit the same crashing problems when using another piece of software? The first thing I thought of was hardware, have you eliminated hardware as the problem?

for the most part, no. i've had sporadic issues with photoshop CS4, but it'll freeze and then crash, and it's much rarer than this. that's also been going on for months... i play EHM for hours on end and this issue is sudden (occurring 2 days ago) and consistent... i cannot play this save without a crash.
i'm really quite confused, as our season is continuing cause, as i've said, others can use this save without issue. O_o

someone before mentioned defrag and scandisk. have you done these? i am talking about a full scandisk of your drives. It sounds possibly hardware related.
Have you tried another save? will ehm work then? Also what happens when you open many memory-intensive programs like Photoshop at the same time? If you put a massive load on your system does it fail?

yes.
well, it gets easily bogged down. my pc fails from time to time, most of the time photoshop is open (i do a lot of design stuff)... when it gets bogged down it's more likely to crash on me.
other save games work fine, though. (as far as i can tell in tests...)
i know my pc isn't in good shape, and i suspect hardware too, but the fact that it's only this save game is weird. especially since others haven't had an issue with it. i haven't defrag or scandisk'd yet...

If this is an online game, why don't you have them remove your GM and put you back in as a new GM? Wouldn't that allow you to create a new save? Because otherwise it seems that you're out of luck. Your save is corrupted.

-.-;;
it is not an online game. i'm not a GM.
we have an EHM league where we use an 8 team league, and all 180 players in the league are signups. of those 180, 8 of them are GMs of the 8 teams. i am commissioner.
we just use a normal savegame that we distribute to each other via an SVN server. we sim 3-4 games per day. right now i can't sim (and as an impartial commish, it'd be best if i did the simming instead of the GMs).

I'm afraid you can't do anything. Just load some older saved game and try to continue. To prevent this in future, don't use "Saved compressed" option and keep your disc and data in good condition

Also use "Save safily" or something like that not to rewrite your latest saves automatically.
Hope you understand.

NyIslanders2010, try searching this site for 'CPP' string. You'll get some results. All lead to badly modified db. Did you do any changes in db or in skins?
I'd suggest you to reinstall the game and try to start new campaign.

"v3.0.4 ingame_db_setup_.cpp 6013" error, I get this on October 1st 2007 in any game I will start now. Anyone could lead me to what I might have edited in the pre-game editor that could cause this?

Try using the default database. If you've overwritten it, reinstalling the patch should bring it back.

Yeah, it seems that you edited the db wrongly. Try passing through this date using the original db (start new game) and you'll see if it's problem with db or with the game. I'm sure it's with db.

Yes, it is the database, but I'd like to found what so that I don't have to scrap my database that I've been updating for quite some time..

Hm, I don't know then. Generally, the EHM db is extremely error prone and only God and Lidas know how to alter it properly.
What type of changes did you make? I'm afraid there is no step-by-step rollback possibility unless you've got partial backups of your db. Just start over and test it deeply after each type of change

Maybe
here you can find what are the most critical modifications and how to avoid such cpp errors.
Be glad you can use the default database. Or why don't you use
Lidas' latest one? They're proven enough already

I'm pretty sure even Lidas saves many different backups of the db as he goes, just to make sure he doesn't lose a ton of work.

I'm not too sure where to post this problem (and please do correct me if I shouldn't post here!), but I'm having a little trouble with my long term game save that I started in 2008. I am at May 2013, using TBL Roster Update V1.5 and the simulating speed has slowed down considerably and I cannot coach games myself or even view matches because it would just freeze at the opening face-off. I am patched up to 3.0.4 and I'm wondering if there's any workaround with this. I can holiday the games but can't play them.
Cheers in advance!

Does this only happen on that save? If you start a new game, do you have the same problem?

A new game has no problem, it's just this save. I've now switched to 'GM' mode (letting the head coach actually coach the guys) but I can view the game and there's no freezing issue. I'll have another look at it after my uni classes today.

My game keeps freezing on 16th May 2008, and comes up with the Vista error "EHM2007 has stopped working blah blah blah"
I always rolling save so I tried 2 earlier parts of my rolling save and they both crashed on the same date.
So I'm guessing my saves are all corrupted then? Or can someone save my game :$

I assume you edited nothing. Good. Now try running a new game past that date.
Which roster do you use?

It's pretty likely that it's a corrupt save and there isn't much you can do about that. In the future, to prevent save corruption, try un-checking "Save Compressed" in the Preferences (in game it's "Options" and then "Preferences", the check box is on the upper right of that screen).

Didn't edit anything. Using v1.3 or something of Lidas 08/09 roster update I think.
I gone all the way back to a save from Jan to see if I still get the error
EDIT: Still get the error, new game for me it looks like

Ah gay, looks like I'll have to restart, was looking good for some rebuilding of my defence after coming out of the playoffs despite my top 2 lines all getting in the top points for the season haha.
Cheers

Is there any evidence to show that saving compressed increases your chances of corrupting a save?
