So do they Rangers trade Shanny in everyone else's game? If so, where and for what. In my game he went to the Sharks for their 1st rounder.

Lightning for a 2nd and 3rd. Nice lineup in Tampa...
Richards-Lecavalier-Shanny on line one. Jesus

Auld loses game 3 4-3. Aebischer back in...wins 4-0 over the Wings. Three shutouts, 3 games. OH my god! Finally gives up a goal in game 4, late in the third in a 3-1 win over Nashville.
David Aebischer stats in 4 games. 3 shutouts, .989 save percentage and 0.24 GAA. Talk about insane.
I have to get Auld some time though...since he is in my core. He plays the Blues, and we will go from there. I want him to get 5 of the first 10.

Aebischer started awesome for me too: 2-0, 1 shutout, .5 GAA, .980 save %
Shane Doan was the Offensive Player of the Week: 2 games, 2 10's, 3 goals, 2 assists

He's still with the Rags in my game - though he was put on the block at the start of the game. No one bit. Biggest deal in my game so far is Mathieu Schneider to the Preds for a couple prospects.

Hmmm... and Schneider went on waiver (to the Caps) in my game. That Shanny to the Lightning bit sounds scary!
Doan has been kind of quiet for me so far with just 1 goal and 4 assists in 5 games. York and Reinprecht are putting up similar numbers. I'm doing better with my second line of Sjostrom-Kaigorodov-Vrbata. Kaigorodov leads the team with 8 points. I'm going to juggle my lines a bit though. I tried swapping York and Sjostrom but that didn't really help much. Instead I'm going to swap Doan and Vrbata and see how that goes.

So I'm ten games in. I'm doing a LOT better then I thought I would. 7-3. However, 2 of my losses have been blowouts. 7-2 and 5-0. Most wins have been chippy 1 or 2 goals victories.
Stats-wise, the top line is all tied with 12 points each. I've also been very happy with Jovo. He's got 8 points and is playing 28+ minutes/game.

Neither Auld nor Aebischer has been able to really take hold of my starting goaltending job, so I've been going back and forth between them. Auld just had a heck of a game though. He just won a game 4-3 in OT after facing 51 shots from the Oilers. Not too shabby!
I'm liking Vrbata on the top line at RW and Doan on the second. It spreads out the talent more. Teams were focusing on shutting down my top line before. I'm getting better results now. I also tweaked my tactics just a bit and it made a difference. Now I'm 5-4 in 9 games. I've got my PP firing at 22.2% but my PK is atrocious! I also had Morris win Defensive Player of the Week. He's really been sharp. He's got 9 points in 9 games, a +/- of +5, and an average rating of 8.89.

10 games in. Leading scorer is Reinprecht 4-5-9. Doan missed another game with an injury. he was also gonna get suspended again for 2 more, but I appealed and won. Ugh. He has 5 pts in 7 games.
Kaigo has most assists with 7, but 1 goal.
Vrbata most goals 6...2 assists.
My goaltending is rocking. 6-2-2 for me. So basically the same as CatchUp. I don't think I am gonna win though. My tactics are not working right now. This is a big issue.

Shanny was put on the block in my game too, and Forsberg went to the Caps.

And so after 10 games I am 6-4-0 (none of those OT losses for me!). I'm generating some nice offense with 40 points for in those 10 games. I've got 6 guys with at least a point per game. So I've got that going for me. The problem is, I've got to cut down my goals against (34). The last few games were getting better in that regard though. My present problem is with keeping guys healthy. Carcillo and Zigmanis have both been out for 10 day stretches and this causes lots of line juggling. The more I juggle the lines the less the guys can gel. Now Tjarnqvist is out for 3 weeks and Vrbata is out for a week. I've stuck with playing with a short roster though. None of my guys on the farm are really ready for it, so I'm not going to bother calling them up.

Okay... this is just wrong.

Mike Zigomanis just had a hat trick versus the Rangers when I had him playing the 1st line RW in place of the injured Vrbata. He had to have been playing cleanup and getting junk goals. I'm just amazed!

I havn't played EHM for a few weeks, got kind of bored with it...was waiting for the next challenge.
This is my first challenge and its brought a new breath of fresh air into playing EHM, I'm looking forward to it.
So far i've chosen my core players....replaced the staff that weren't to the level they need to be, and looked at my roster, and unsigned prospects.
Iv'e chosen the NTNB option...to add an extra challenge, It's a great idea to challenge yourself to build from within. Going to be hard though...to not pick up the waiver claims...or trade for the usual players.
Good Luck all!

I got ten games in last night as well and ended 5-4-1.
Currently my lines are:
York-Reinprecht-Doan
Sjöström-Kaigorodov-Vrbata
Gratton-Zigomanis-Fischer
Redenbach-Lehoux-Weller
Jovanovski-Morris
Michalek-Boynton
Jones-Ballard
Aebischer
Auld
Redenbach is filling in for an injured Murley.
My leading scorer is Kaigorodov with 13 points (3+10), leading goalscorer is Reinprecht with 6(+6).
Boynton is leading the way in the +/- department with +10, runner up is Michalek at +6. Ballard is dead last at -8.
So far I'd say the pleasant surprise has been Sjöström(3+5) but I had expected more from York(2+4) and Vrbata(2+4). Jovanovski is earning his paycheck so far at 5+5 (yes, my second best goalscorer is a D-man...).
No more games for me until monday when I might mix up the scoring lines a bit to see if I can't get York going, he has been awesome in the Islanders game I started to test the no-trade no-UFA koncept earlier this week.

sjsharkz, what you said about the challenging breathing fresh air into playing EHM... that's exactly why we like to run these challenges and keep changing the rules. It keeps the game fun when you play it in ways you don't normally play. Plus, it's fun to compare how you are doing to others.
Marsac, you've got about the same record as me. What I find interesting is how some players might shine for one of us and might bomb for another. It all has to do with where you play him and what tactics you use. In my game, Boynton is just okay but Ballard has been really good. Like you, I was surprised that Sjostrom was pretty good. I think almost all of us are seeing Kaigorodov to be a pretty good player. It's funny, I never paid him much attention before now.

Shanahan goes to Tampa Bay on my game for a 2007 2nd round pick and a 2008 1st round pick.

A first and a second? Yikes! Then again, maybe he's worth it. Since being traded to the Sharks in my game, Shanahan has really taken off. He's leading the league with 35 points in 17 games. Reinprecht is 4th with 25 points in 15 games. Shanahan is just tearing it up!

I am so dead. Looking at the 20 game stats guys with over 30 pts? Man I will be lucky to have one player with 20 pts.
Of course though...I may not have given up 20 goals
15 games in and Doan has missed 3, Jovo just went out for 10 days, and Ballard AND Boytnon AND Michalek are sucking for me. Vrbata is okay,Sjostrom is in and out. And the rest..other than Reinprecht have been BRUTAL. I have more guys averaging less than 7's than I EVER have...and I mean that goes way back to my first ever challenge.
Phoenix clearly needs a special tactic. Special players they are. Special Ed!!! Hey wait...Special Ed is on the team. So I should not be surprised (Of course he leads the team in giveaways...shocker!)
Now seriously...I am winning a ton. 10-3-2 so I should be happy right? Yeah...averaging barely 2 goals per game. Noone averaging a point per game. A power play at 5.7% yeah...so happy.
Anyway, at least others will have a chance to win the way my guys are going.

Sniff....Malik and Kilger both put on waivers, Calgary scooped up Malik. Still in pre-season, almost ready for opening day.
Ranked 30th as well

After 10 games I'm 4-5-1, not too bad considering I lost the first 4! Sjostrom scored 5 goals in a game for me!! My PK is struggling...as usual..my PP is respectable. My attack is doing okay...but im letting in too many PP goals...have to tone down my aggresive play! I've been using Auld as my number 1, he has solid numbers too .913 save % and 2.95 GAA. Aebischer has been down right ordinary 11 goals against in 2 games for an .864 save %.

through 5 and just got my first win after a little line shuffling. Doan is leading in Goals while play on the second line and Auld been doing fairly well in goal. My biggest problems been that we usually get at least one goal a game just the other team gets 2

no matter how the team plays it always seem we get beat by one goal.

It seems like everyone has needed between 6 and 10 games to kind of get things in order and get their guys playing decent. I really think our teams are going to start coming together more and more as we go along. I don't think it's going to be so bad.

I have the worst defence in the league, mainly due to my poor PK... its currently at 76.1%, so I need to work it out, and fast. I think I might change my top 2 lines and have 2 balances scoring lines instead of 1 good one and one average one..same with my D.
My PK sucks sooo bad....it's the only thing I can never quite master
