Wow, I didn't realised that I challenged you to so many games in my TBL challenge frenzy last night when I chatted with Shadd. But I'm in for 4 games against you. :-D

But now the cups starts so it may be cancelled games, but if that happens we just challenge eachother again.

If we look at the team strengths of the TBLers, there's actually a solid competition:
1. Shadd 16.63
2. Taloncarde 14.45
3. JoeHelmer 12.36
4. Getzlaf15 12.27
5. Selne 8.34

I guess you've all seen the news of last week mentioning that PPM now has Peter Stasny has its godfather! Getting his attention is a very nice reward for all the hard work that has been done on PPM. I hope we'll have an interview of him soon in the PPM mag...

My team is gradually improving, but i need more money to improve my Training facilities!!! :-D I'm refusing to buy players at the moment... We should have a little TBL tournament as well when we all have time...

When you say he is a godfather of the site... What does that mean?

Joe, it was a real good idea to set a 15 year old as starting goalie against my team! Now my players have nice self-confidence!! :-p Do you have more of these phenom prospects? :-p

My starting goalie is only 15 as well. It's the "in" thing having 15 year olds as a starting goalie! :-D

Play a lot of friendlies. Eventhough they don't give you a lot of money, it's still a few bucks coming in regularly. It doesn't really matter if you play at home or on the road, as the benefits for friendlies (and national cup games) are splitted equally between both teams. So you'd better play in the biggest arena and/or best team's place to maximize the number of people coming to the game, and therefore maximize the profits.

Having a strong 'Human Ressources and Economics' department also helps to bring more people to your arena. And it obviously helps to get better sponsors by the end of the season.

The other way to get money is to sell players and/or staff. A bit risky, as you pay a tax no matter if the player is sold or not, so you'd better be sure someone will buy it, or you'll end up loosing money. In the same time, it can be very lucrative when you get lucky. I'm not that high on using the market to make money though. Firstly, because you need luck, and it's not something you always have. Secondly, because it's not really the reason of existing of the market, although several managers try to use it that way. If you've got a good Human Ressources department (bringing a lot of staff) or a good sports academy (bringing a lot of players), it might be a way to explore though. But be very cautious with it. You can win a lot on the market, but you can also loose a lot (player/staff not sold -> tax + you keep the salary on your daily expanses).

Anyway, the first season is tough for everyone financially. Low sponsors, as we are just starting teams with low team strength, so it's hard to get as many bucks as we want. That's why every single buck has to be spent wisely in season 1. Even after that, of course, but especially in season 1.

My team is on a roll, three straight wins and my 15 year old goalie is playing great, he was 92% last night. I hope he can play that good in my second game in my and Getzy's serie of 4 games. :-D

And soon I got 6 games against Team Nonames. :-D
That comes with a very good timing as I'm last of the teams with name, but that is thanks to the fact that I've just played 3 games against Team Nonames so far.

It may be a bit late in the season, but I've signed up for this. Hockley Fire, in GB League III.5 if anyone wants a friendly. Already looking to sign up my first import.
