I play with only US Dollar now, but at first I switched forth and back when checking salary because I didn't know how much ex. 750 000$ was for a player.
"He wanted about 16000000 Swedish kronor over two-years I think"
I only remember the salary in Kronor as I'm not used to Dollar, even though I play with USD.

After 12 games played we're much better than I expected us to do, we're now in 12th in Conference, wins sometimes and loses with 1 goal, or in OT and shoot out, sometimes. Consistency is not this team's strong side. ](*,)

Now I lead against Dallas Stars with 2-0 after first period and lost in OT with 2-3.

There's lots of great talent made available (including some goalies) at the start of the game but we're not allowed to make any trades or waiver claims yet. :furious:

Thomas went to Phoenix on my game via waivers. ](*,)

I'm with you on that one. I hate the outlandishly high jersey numbers.

Just started the game. Khabibulin is out for 9 months, and Deslauriers seems rather weak... Boy, I've got a feeling this one's gonna be more challenging that the Avalanche one.

WOW! :-o

I just hit September 29th in my game and got a news item saying that Martin Brodeur has retired! I remember seeing something earlier that he had gotten injured and would be out 6 months but I didn't expect to see him retire. I'm guessing this might make it even harder for me to acquire a goalie for the second season.

First off, I was also in the twelfth spot when you posted your standing and Thomas also went to Phoenix for me. Are we playing the same game? :-o

The classic, happened in my last two saves too. New Jersey becomes brutal and I don't know if that would be good for me or not at the moment.

Just sim one day, and you dont need to worry about Khabibulin anymore... hehehe :bull:

Horcoff out for three weeks and my team starts winning, weird due to the fact that he was graded 9.55 with 14 points in 11 games. Play-offs here I come!

Yes, I know, I've read the previous posts, and he did retire the next day. Great job, Lidas, I must admit.

Have any of you actually succeeded in signing Omark?

I sure haven't! Every time I got the "Omark snubs the Oilers" news item, I would renegotiate with him and try tweaking the offer or just offer the most I could again. Finally on September 29th, I got the message and there was no renegotiate button. I think he got sick of listening to me. Maybe I can try again next season?

No, couldnt get him.

All preparations done, and I'm about to play my first game

BUT - Im going to finish my playoffs in another game first... just a little something I played around with while waiting for this challenge.

I didn't get to sign Omark as he rose his wanted salary after the weird low he wanted first for me. "Yesterday" he even signed a 3 year deal in Russia for big money, so no Omark for me.

I didn't managed to get Omark. But I hope to get him for season two.

I wouldn't bring my hopes up, I haven't been able to sign him in any of my 2.X Oilers saves.

So last season Manimal kicked off an un-official development competition within Challenge 15. I was wondering if there was any interest in doing this in Challenge 16. If so, who do we use?

I think Gagner would be the obvius choice. He can become really good, but is so easily destroyed.

My idea was to use lower-ranked prospects. So that we could see if anyone could get something out of someone unknown

I think Gagner might be too good or have too much upside for him to fit the purpose of that development competition. It was supposed to be geared around getting the most out of a player that isn't that good and doesn't have much potential.

I see.
Roy would take too much time to develop but maybe Motin? It will take some skilled developing to make him a regular NHLer.

Maybe Motin but he might even have a bit too much potential. What about Trukhno or Reddox?

Posted: Tue Feb 09, 2010 4:54 pm
by visualdarkness
Oh, want a even worse player. :dunno:
Between those two I would say Trukhno as Reddox already is too developed.

I haven't had much to do with the editor, but if I recall correctly both Motin and Roy have minus potential, and last time we agreed on someone with set potential.

Brulé? He's not as good as Gagner, but he looks like he's still got much room to develop. Might be too good though. I guess we'll go with someone on the border of NHL/AHL level.
