Germany one-nil up on Czech republic, whose key players are seemingly in a jetlag. Power play goal by Tino Boos, and a rather lucky one at that - he diverted a slapper from the point into the net.

German defense is hangin' tough so far.

Go Finland! Seems as we're going to do some heavy damage on powerplay, and thats never a bad thing. Niittymäki also played well, though the match wasnt that tough tor him anyways.

Well hopefully live streaming won't fill up too much of my download limit-this Germany game is good...Hope Russia and Slovakia is close too.

Well, the czechs have turned around the result with 2 goals from Kaberle (nice pass from Jagr on the second!!!).

This is normal, I think, the germans will play against the swiss for the fourth spot of this group. Both, swiss and germans, are better than Italy, but weaker than canadiens, finns and czechs.

I follow the games on a live stream (streamtvnow.com) because here in Spain there isnt a great coverage about hockey...I think they will do some games on TV, but I prefer to hear the guys from NBC who know about hockey than the spanish commentators who stink

This is gonna be a great tournament!!!

Hedjuk just completely missed the net on a penalty shot. Bad Luck. Still 2-1 for Czechs midway through the 3rd.

Apparently we're are on unlimited broadband limit, so there will be no download limit (they will just get mighty slow). That means I can watch the live streams as I wish :joy:

How many progress from each group? I hope it is not like the WCs, were those teams even at the bottom of the group get a second chance..

Jagr scores on what looked like a harmless play, 3-1 with less then 2 minutes to play.

Would anyone be interested in play-by-play (provided by me ;) ) for the Russian - Slovakia game? It starts in ~45 minutes and I can set up a chat room on aol or yahoo or something if enough people are interested. I kinda feel bad cause I get the game in HD and you guys have to watch on pants interenet feeds.

4-1 it finishes.

The main Hockey Arena is nice, but the other one is terrible-there are no stands behind the goals.

Russia-Slovakia next?

The four first of each group go directly to the quarterfinals, the bottom two teams of each group play for 9th place.

Good game between the Slovaks and the Russians!!! Watch out for the Slovaks!!! Good defense and good offense!!! They will be hard to play and can beat everybody!!

Right now its tied at 3

Yeah I know...
I am facing a dilemma at the moment-do I stick with the rubbish pictures but Barry Davies commentary on the BBC, or go for the decent pictures but no commentsry?

Russian coaching = :thdn: They had there 4th line out on a key powerplay late in the game, and when there was 2 minutes left in teh game and it was still tied up. Good game though

And USA just tied it up as I was typing this.

It was very nice match between Slovakia and Russia, in high speed tempo. Nice goals, hard hits (Zdeno Chara rulezZ :joy: ). I think that in some moments Russians play very hard, especially when Ovechkin hits hard on board Ronnie Petrovicky and ugly foul on Gaborik. It was nice match that I really enjoy. The biggest minus on match was referee.
