Yep appears I wasn't using the latest version (3.0.4). I assumed that in downloading the demo today I would have got the latest release, but I've updated and now it seems to be working. So far so good. Now just to part with my cash for a second time now to get it fully on my Mac.
Would be good to hear if an editor for the Mac existed, but still, this will be nicer than running the game on the old worn down laptop!

No Mac editor exists. You can use the pre-game editor if you install Windows on your computer, but the save-game editor won't open a Mac save file.

I merged PRB's thread about installing EHM on Mac with this thread, that is about the same topic.

I just switched to mac, and after reading through the threads pertaining to macs and EHM07, Ive gone and downloaded the trial version for the mac. Where do I go from here? Ive tried to get the 3.0.4 patch off this site, yet no luck (It seems to be unavailable). As well, I cant for the life of me find a place to purchase a licence for the game. SI's site seems to support PC purchases, but no Mac.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A heads up on the Mac version:
At the SI Forums, Graeme posted:
The Mac one isn't being sold any more - we had a support ticket a couple of weeks back with an issue that we weren't in a position to resolve (to do with activation of the game after buying it) that meant we had to do a refund. Then because we didn't know the cause of this issue and couldn't do anything to resolve it, we had to prevent further cases of it.
So, it looks like the only option for Mac users wanting to purchase the game is to buy the PC version and run it in Bootcamp or Parallels.

I am also having this problem. I have snow leopard and I can't get the game to run (I get the same error as show in the OP). When I try what the previous posters did, deleting and reinstalling the game and using a backup to add the files that are deleted, I get the same errors followed by the game actually starting but it is all messed up making it unplayable (screen is all wonky).
Please help!!

Hey everyone, I finally just got the game to work again but by doing something completely unorthodox (after trying everything others have suggested about a million times). I installed the game to a different directory and then patched it and the game works perfectly now. The patch didn't delete the files like it did when installing to the standard directory. Hopefully this works for others who play this awesome game on Snow Leopard!

I have re-uploaded the Mac patch here:
http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/dl ... ile_id=316
Please note:
The Mac version of the game has it's own database files. To get the data update provided with the patch, you must delete these, so that the game will recreate them and the data changes will take effect. You can do this 2 ways(after installing the patch):
1) Open a Terminal window and type:
cd "/Applications/NHL EHM 2007" ( or to wherever you chose to install the game. ) "./data_refresh.sh"
2) Double click the data_refresh AppleScript in the application directory.
Also, a bug fix means that game Preferences are now located in the correct place on your hard drive. This will mean that you need to re-enter your serial number one last time.
Mac License

From reading through this thread - someone mentioned that they no longer are selling licenses for the Mac version. Is this correct? I downloaded the demo from apple.com and have been trying to figure out how to purchase the license.... if it's just unpurchasable, I guess I can give up on that unless there are other options. Any help?

That is correct, see post below:

Mac License

Yea - I saw that post. Thanks for that.... the issue is that I work for Parallels (so I can't install Bootcamp) and EHM doesn't work with their software. Or at least, I can't get it to work. So I was hoping their might be some other way to get a MAC License. But looks like they just aren't available anymore. They really should remove the try and buy link from the site if you can't actually buy - would have been nice to know before I played 6 months.

I guess they probably don't care much though....

Well then, get crackin' on making your software support EHM.

I recently switched over to a mac and was wondering if there was anyway to get past the license on it. I know I can't use my pc license for it. Any help would be appreciated. There has to be a crack out there somewhere right?

TBL does NOT tolerate piracy of any sort. Even if you had a license for the PC version, you can't come here looking for a crack. We're not that type of community.

My brother just got a new Mac and wanted the game on his computer. We have the game purchased already and we only use it on one computer. Can I use the second license on his Mac? Also, where can we download it from because I haven't been able to find it anywhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Unfortunatelly, the Mac version is not sold any more. You can try to use the PC license but I doubt it will work.

It seems the Mac try'n'buy version can be downloaded here:
http://www.blasteroids.com/games/file_d ... nager_2007
Once installed, the Mac patch can be downloaded here:
http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... =82&t=6628
Give it a go and let me know how far you get. I'm not clear whether your license is for the Mac or PC version; if it's the PC version then I don't think it'll work.
[EHM 2007] Crossover help on a Mac

I am relatively new to the Mac world and I figured I would have no issues installing EHM 2007 onto my new MacBook Pro. Boy was I wrong! After some research I was able to get 3.0 running on Crossover using my PC license. Now I would like to know if it's possible to patch the game or install new rosters through crossover. I have no idea what a "bottle" is on Crossover, but I tried to install the patch to the same bottle as the game, and no luck. I also cannot find any data files listed where the game is located, so I don't know how to change rosters.
Any help from someone who knows how to use Crossover would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys

Probably not new rosters. All were done for PC with the editor. Course, I have been wrong once before
As for patches--Not sure. PC patch would need to be put into the PC game. There was a game for the Mac that SI sold at one time, but I think they stopped selling it about a year after the game came out. Again, could be wrong.
If you found a way to play the PC version on the Mac..alot of people would be interested. That is if you did it legally. If not...this whole thread is going to get locked down.
I don't know what a bottle is, other than for drinking. Also don't know what Crossover is. I am grumpy old man. Shocked it did not take me 3 months to write this.

I actually found out about Crossover while searching this forum, so I don't think it's a new thing. Here is the post I got it from:
archibalduk wrote:That's right - you can't buy Mac EHM any more.
I don't know whether this will work but it might be worth a try using the demo:
archibalduk wrote:Unfortunately the Mac version of EHM 2007 is no longer on sale and I understand this makes it difficult for Mac users. One possible solution might be to try using a trial version of
CrossOver Mac. CrossOver Mac allows you to install and run Windows software from within Mac OSX. It would be well worth trying to run the demo of EHM using a trial of CrossOver Mac. I must emphasise that this is not something I have tried (I don't have a Mac) and hence I recommend trying to use the trial version first. However, I have successfully installed and played EHM 2007 using CrossOver Linux so it is well worth a try.
If an admin said it, I think it's ok.
I don't have many posts here, but have been around long enough to know that getting this game illegally is the stupidest thing to do, so don't worry about that! I would buy this game a second time just for my Mac if it were still possible. Unfortunately it's not.

As far as patching via Crossover, that's something you may need to go to Crossover support about.
As an aside, the rosters (for example, the Lidas rosters downloadable from this site) are cross platform. They work for Mac and PC.

Hi SoxBoy90. I've gotten EHM to work on Linux CrossOver and so I assume the installation method for the Mac version would be the same. CrossOver is a perfectly legitimate method of installing the PC version of EHM.
You're right that you need to run the PC 3.0.4 patch and it must be run in the same bottle as where you installed EHM. I thin what you need to do is open up CrossOver and select the option to install new software in the bottle where EHM is installed. When it asks you for the installer file, select the EHM 3.0.4 patch and then it should run the patch. This is how I did it with Linux and it worked fine.
To install the roster update, you will need to find where your bottle is installed on your hard disc. Then you need to navigate within that to the usual EHM/data/database/ folder and extract the zip file containing the update.
Let me know if you're struggling and I'll try to help.
