You can change it with the transfer_rules_config file.
IIRC, you have to take that file out of the database first and then copy it back to make the changes work.

I just started up a game with the Rangers and it said they were founded in 1958

EDIT: I just realised you aged all the teams according to the start date

IRL the Rangers were founded in 1926.......the 1974 db is forced to use a 2006 start date,so..... if 1974 + 32 years = 2006 then 1926 + 32 years = 1958

'Leapin Lou' Fontinato's nationality is wrong
Several guys have the wrong DOB. Jeff Brubaker is one I noticed. Also, if you start up the game and on the first day check 'Transactions' under the General Manager part of the top header you will see some guys getting released from their junior teams due to age

Not sure if you are worried about waiver issues but I think the following Canucks should not be waiver eligible yet. Dennis Ververgaert(21), Bryan McSheffrey(21), Paulin Bordeleau(21), Ron Sedlbauer(19), Don Lever(21) and Harrold Snepst(19). Also the 17 year olds I was able to sign are waiver eligible as well though I'm thinking that will change when you re-create them . BTW, the Red Wings signed Thomas Gradin.

Hmmm.....could be "Date Joined Club" and/or could be "Player Info Tab" and/or.......

Ververgaert has no stats on his Player Info tab, so it's not that...but he did play 78 games for the Canucks in 1973-74 (I'm not sure of the exact waiver rules)...the Date Joined Club could be an issue (his says 2005)
Snepsts has an empty Player Info tab, a 2006 Start Date but it shows he was Drafted by the Canucks in 2004...maybe this is the issue? Ververgaert shows he was Drafted in 2003.

It might seem like the Draft Years are wrong...but they're sorta not (it was done "on purpose"); I wanted to maintain the correct Round/Overall while shifting the draft two years (see below) - I thought the game may use such information (when determining contracts for example)

One of the things I had to deal with was the different draft age (20) back in 1974 AND I wanted the NHL teams to have some young prospects at start-up (and the players were already on NHL teams because at one point it was a 1976 db).....so I moved the draft 2 years - if 1974 is 2006 in-game, you would think that players drafted IRL in 1974 would be drafted in 2006 in EHM.....but they're not. For the draft I went with 2006 in-game is the same as "when 18 year olds were drafted" IRL.....so the in-game 2006 Draft is the IRL 1976 Draft, the in-game 2005 Draft is the IRL 1975 Draft, etc..........this may be making players eligible for waivers before they should be - when I have the time I'll look into this further

Did you adjust European/Russian players ages/PA at start-up?
If you didn't then Gradin is age 23 at start-up, with a CA/Reputation of 90 but a PA of -5 (between 70 and 100)...


I haven't done the editing work on the Swedes/Finns that I have with most of the Russians.....Gradin currently has an Adaptability of 18 in the Editor (most of the Russians have a 1) - I suspect this played a part in Detroit signing him

I honestly don't get how the game sets up the waivers.
I have 20-year-olds eligible for waivers, yet Jean Ratelle, Rod GIlbert and Bobby Rousseau are exempt. They are the three guys on my team with the most games played.
The draft should not matter in regards to waivers. It is supposed to be time spent in league and/or number of games played(whichever comes to the limit first)

I also saw an invalid Petr RD in the editor

Thanks! I just made the four the same as the rest (full names/short names are the same thing).....

After further simming I've looked and the computer teams won't offer Europeans any contract. I don't think you need to change anything because if the user wants the Europeans in the NHL they can but of they want it more realistic they don't have to.

Also, I've seen that many guys who are 22 or 23 are put on waivers when it shouldn't happen. Just wanted to mention it

Bad news

At the start of November about 10 teams have started to offer some 22 year old Swede(name escapes me atm) contracts for next season. And the AI is starting to offer contracts to Peters, Hanlon, Wilson, Duguay, McCourt, and other decent prospects. Still no Bossy or Russians being offered deals though.

Adds an interesting dynamic to the save to say the least, but at least the 17 year old UFAs can be fixed. Otherwise(outside of Boston waiving Bucyk and Montreal wanting to trade Richard) the DB is great.

Detroit signed Gradin during the first training camp and no, I didn't make any changes or adjustments. Also the same thing with Henri Richard going on waivers and Johnny Bucyk being offered around. Having fun so far and about to start the regular season. Work this week tho so testing will be limited

Yes, the draft eligible players being signable can be fixed...but it'll some time to do so (it's not just 17 year olds! all of my extra young additions need to be checked for this issue!); I've almost completed a review of all the historical players in Major Junior - out of 120 players 50 need to be recreated! When the draft eligible players are fixed, and all the European/Russian Attributes are where I want them (things like Reputation, Adaptability, Loyalty, Favourite Club, etc), then a second test can be done

Richard's Reputation was low (120) so I upped it, and upped both players Loyalty to 20, and now they both start the game with No Trade Contracts! Hopefully the Reputation increase will keep Richard from being put on Waivers...
