I feel like a Head Coach in Swedish Hockey League working for free might be a troublesome behaviour. Is this the place to post this or is the Bugs thread the more correct option? If so I can make a post there instead

Another weird thing is that Leksand will play both series of the SHL relegation battle, so I wonder what will happen if both Rögle and Karlskrona will lose the games? Is there going to be two Leksand in the SHL next season or will the game crash? I guess we'll have to see

There is something a bit annoying, in no way a major issue, but still a bit annoying in my opinion : arenas chosen for international tournaments.

For instance, I'm in my second season (2016-17) and I have :
World Cup : Vancouver, Montréal, Ottawa ... Helsinki ... Malmö ... the World Cup should be hosted by a single city I think.
World U-20 : Malmö, Göteborg and ... Unknown arena
World Championship : Moscow (VTB Arena and Arena Khadynka) but Final played in ... Novokuznetsk

It changes nothing to the game itself for sure -it only displays a location and an attendance figure and nothing else- but why is it so messy ? :dunno: I suppose there is no way to change it through EHM Assistant or any other editor ?

I don't know about WC, but the World Champs is often shared between two cities. Like for example in 2013, it was shared between Stockholm and Helsinki, where one group would play in Helsinki, the other in Stockholm, while the final was played in Stockholm. This year's competition will be held in Moscow and St. Petersburg in the same way.

The World Cup of 2004 was hosted in six countries and seven cities.

Yes and it's good that ingame we also have two cities hosting the World Championsips, with each group playing in one arena, but the bug is the final being held in a third place thousand of kms away.

Absolutely true but the 2016 World Cup will be held in Toronto alone ; and in the game I had the group stage games held in Vancouver, Montréal and Ottawa, then the semi-finals held in Finland and Sweden, and then the Final back in Vancouver. In 2004, each group was hosted either in North America or in Europe and then the final stages were held in North America.

You should post that on the SI Games forum as it isn't anything we can do about it here

Hi.

Is anyone aware of an artificial way to slow down the in-game clock? I prefer to sim my thru my games without highlight animation, but after the 1.1 update the clock runs ridiculously fast,
even when set on 'slow' speed. This is actually a bit of an issue for me, because it makes in-game tactical adjustments near impossible.

Samething for me... The clock runs way too fast for me. I can't follow the game with that speed

If you have clock speed at slow and action speed at very slow, the clock will run quite slow. Not sure why action speed affects the clock speed, but seems to, nonetheless.

Edit: there seems to be an annoyance to it though. For some reason it resets the highlights setting to All Game every time, if you use the very slow action -option.

Yeah, I noticed that highlight setting problem too. I really hope they fix this soon. Very slow action setting helps a bit for me, but the clock is still pretty darn fast. I actually think that it would be better to play this game on my laptop, because it's not as high-end.

Great game but there are a few annoyances, based on my NHL play.

1-Having unwanted garbage try-outs at the beginning of NHL training camp
2-Having en masse trading offers at the same time concerning the same player. It is like a certain player became the saveur du jour amongt NHL teams.
3-Angry reactions during trades. It happens too many times when I trade someone who is low in my depth chart. I could understand if I traded my top scorer for a pick but a 3rd or 4th liner?

Turn off the open camp option from the camp screen before the camp starts.

I wish this wouldn't automatically re-enable every season. NHL should never have this option on, I can see it being useful in the lower leagues.

Anyone else having problems with like 50% of draft - eligible Americans sitting idle for at least a year? It seems a lot of decent American prospects leave their HS team, no college signs them (despite being significantly better), and they just sit, which I imagine hurts their development. A lot of times even after drafting they still don't go to any college. Happening occasionally is one thing, but over 50% is a big issue.

Also noticed about 50% of my players who finish their ELC want ridiculous $2M+ contracts, even when they only get like 20pts and a 7 rating during their best year in the AHL...not even NHL. Must happen to other teams too bc a lot of good but not quite NHL ready prospects bolt overseas or sit as idle RFAs, when a year or two on a cheaper "bridge" contract would make them NHL ready.

Last big note I have is that again over 50% of the time, when the goalie gers pulled, 2x Empty Net Goals are scored, rarely do I only see 1 scored. In real life, 2 ENGS is pretty rare, in game it's more common that 1 ENG. Not sure if it's the way the puck is handled or how/when the goalie is pulled (time vs possession of the puck in offensive zone) or shooting accuracy from the other end or what (maybe I need to watch some highlights and report back).

Something I notice that often ends up actually ruining a game for me by the time i get to years 4/5 is the talent being brought into the nhl. In 2015, there are very few great young players. However, in 2019 there are maybe over 100 players under 21 with 1st line potential and so, so many players with bright greens in all physical stats. It appears as if every draft pick in the first 3 rounds have above 15 speed and acceleration, with many being at 20. However in 2015 there are very few players in the league who have skating like that. It just kinda makes me not want to play anymore, because i figure I spent so much time to pick out the perfect prospects and make the trades necessary, however there are an incredibly unrealistic amount of amazing players coming in to make it feel real.

The example in my game is I took the sabres and grabbed the 3 and 4 picks to get Laine and Pujujarvi to flank Eichel (something i think real gms should really try to do). First 3 years with them were fine (3 finals appearances, 2 cups), but in my 4th year, instead of being the premier standout players they will be, they are quite average in their stats compared to many of the players drafted in years after them. Its kind of annoying because I put in the effort to make the trades to get those players, yet it wasn't actually necessary because so many good players come into the game. Something weird i notice is ever though having nearly identical attributes, my players perform significantly better than the "regens" similar to them. Laine has 2 conn smythes and is a ppg player while others aren't even tearing up Canadian Junior Leagues.

Im gonna try another sim to see if the influx of new players is overpowered again or if that was a anomaly.

Also something else I noticed while trading for Laine and Pujujarvi was that teams value 1st round picks way too highly. I actually had the sabres make it to the 2nd round in 2016 so I needed to trade for both of the 4 and 5. The teams all the way up to 7 would not take the 15th overall + 17th overall+ 2017 1st round pick which would certainly go through in real life. However, once I let the teams draft the players i wanted, i simply traded the player i took with the 15th and 17th for Laine and a 2nd round pick. I then traded Evander Kane and that 2nd for Pujujarvi. it was just kind of buggy that they valued the picks so highly and once they drafted the player, it all dropped off.

If anyone else notices these problems or has a possible solution, let me know!

This is something that bugs me too, since I love acquiring draft picks/the draft process so much. I guess the process is supposed to dissuade "silly" trades that aren't realistic (even though they can be both realistic and fair to both teams).

I'd imagine it's very hard to code this stuff in so it works in a way that makes everyone happy. Right now I'd just like an improvement on the Offer to All button and more than anything please.. please get Inquire to function in a way that gets actual results back. Meaning, the AI gives you a player (or players) and/or picks for the player you inquired about and negotiate to make a deal.

Isn't that how actual trading works? People inquire.. names are thrown back and forth, and three or four steps later you get Seth Jones? Let's get it done!

Say that I suck all you want but it's too hard to get into another team in the new EHM. For instance, in my most recent save I'm the GM of Linköpings HC in the SHL. First season I won both the regular season and the playoffs. Second season I finished 6th in the regular season and was knocked out in the quarter finals. In the General Manager Stats I'm rated the 5th best GM in Sweden and 62nd in the whole world by reputation.

Now I tried to leave the team after the season when some GMs got fired as they do off season in-game (I think this is an improvement from EHM07) but it seems to be impossible. I applied for Espoon Blues (Fin), Dinamo Riga (KHL), HC Slovan Bratislava (KHL), Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers (aka Nürnberg from DEL) and HC Sparta Praha (Cze). Now these teams appointed people as their GMs from the following All Nations Reputation positions: 180th, 39th, 211th and 155th. I couldn't find Riga's GM in the top 1 000 but he is 20th in Russia.
So at least three out of four of the GMs are worse than me by reputation but still none of those teams picked me, why?? I can understand that the teams generally appoint GMs from their own countries but as my nation is set Finnish still not even Blues appoints me even though I am 118 places ahead of their new GM in reputation!

I had the same problem with one older save when I was the GM of Team Finland and after a couple of seasons I wanted to sign with a national team I just couldn't get anywhere, even though I was momentarily 1st in All Nations reputation! It was nothing like this when I wanted to sign with a team in EHM07, at least then I could always get into a team in Fin-3 without any history, now I'm not sure if I could get there with the Swedish Championship. It's just plain annoying that I'm forced to make a new save when I want to switch teams, makes following other nations during a save quite pointless.

I don't think you suck at all! But what I do think isn't going to help you.....I can't believe the 5th best GM in Sweden is 62nd best GM in the world! HaHa
I would think almost every NHL, AHL, Major Junior and KHL GM would be in the top before GMs from other elite leagues/leagues...

ForNever wrote:It's just plain annoying that I'm forced to make a new save when I want to switch teams, makes following other nations during a save quite pointless.
Or you could just give yourself one of the open jobs! You do realize this right?

How many GMs move from the SHL to the KHL in real life? or to any other elite league? Do GMs frequently move amongst the SHL/Liiga/KHL/DEL/etc?
I'm asking/I don't know, but I don't think it's common (I notice the opposite issue sometimes with AI Staff.....guys coaching in/for nations they IMO never would IRL)
