EHM The Blue Line

Because the Bruins right now have one forward who's playing well (Jagr), two who are mediocre (Krejci, Seguin) and a gazilion who are either embarrassingly bad this season or good but limited 4th liners. Claude being the safety freak that he is refuses to put all eggs in one basket. Can't blame him much for that, he'd have to triple shift those three if he put them together. Krejci and Jagr have looked pretty good on the PP, but of course the Bruins are so slow and clumsy that they're getting like half a powerplay per game so not that much production happening there anyway.
At least the Lehabbies got beat up by the Leafs again tonight Maybe the Bruins are just doing everything in their power to face the Leafs in round one

I said something pretty similar when the Canucks were up against the Kings... didn't turn out well.

Well so far the Habs played one good game against the Leafs this season, their 6-1 victory. I think they better not face them in the first round if they want to pass to the second round.

Wishing to play the youngest and at the time one of the hottest teams in the NHL in the playoffs? Yep...that is an example of a Canuck fan. Wow. Anyone who really understands and follows the game outside of their own team would have had ZERO interest in playing LA, and would much rather have played just about anyone other than them. Bruins--1st of all Lucic is not a fourth liner. Never will be. Yeah he cannot skate, Yeah he does not have great hands...but if he and Jagr had another player with them, and not the idiot son of the league VP .....wow. Look out that will be a killer line.

The comparision with the Lebongo-Howard contracts for me is just not really a big deal. It was more about the PHILOSOPHY the Wings have followed. We dont pay goalies big $$$. That has been something that the GM their has said, and has followed. The point was....yeah we get it there mr GM.....you don't need to pay a goalie since you have oh I dunno...Lidstrom, Rafalski and a host of other super NHL defensemen, and forwards....and your style of play means the other team never has the puck? Wow..shocking you do not need to. And now....well Mr Holland....you have to pay a goalie big $$ because well....your defense sucks rocks. Just more of a dig at the fact the REd Wings have had this SUPER AWESOME AMAZING PHILOSOPHy, and have now completely gone against it...because well....THEY HAVE TO.

Who the contract comparision was to really did not matter. Paying a goalie big $ in Detoilet just cracks me up.


And finally...no backdiving long contracts allowed...max % decrease per year, cap calculated differently *big weight to highest year, and finally only 8 year max contract if resigned by own team, 7 by a new team.

I hope the Bruins give Carl Söderberg a chance to play with Jagr. He's better than Soupy

I'm interested in seeing Soderberg play. I've been hearing about him for years and never thought he'd actually come play in the NHL again. He's signed for 3 years though. That means he definitely figures in their plans.

Local media is saying that Bergeron might be back in the lineup tonight. If that's true, you can put him back with Seguin. Marchand is still out. So their LW is open. Maybe Soderberg? Soupy should definitely be dropped down to 4th line again.

In all seriousness, Sakic and Forsberg have been retired IIRC. Beyond Foote is there anyone else to even remotely consider at this point? Or are we talking about waiting for someone like Stastny to get through his career?

What about Hejduk? All 14 seasons with Avs so far, recording 375+430 points and another 76 in playoffs I know he's not felling good now when he lost captaincy and so on... But overall, he can be compared to Forsberg!

Yeah Milan will have that happen for him. He is a favorite there. Also another one of the all time Canuck Killers.

I guess if you ignore the fact that Hejduk took like 400 more games to get to Forsberg's scoring numbers, then, yeah...

If I were Avs fans I'd give some pause to the idea of Hejduk. Good player but... is that really someone you want to have a number hanging in the rafters for all-time? A lot of teams wouldn't really consider him or his numbers, he'd maybe be a Ring of Honor kind of guy, not a Retire Your Number kind of guy.

Yeah I know. But why not to hang Hejduk's jersey when Forsberg is already there? What did Forsberg more for Avs than Hejduk? They did comparable the same so that is my parallel for hanging #23. But honestly I don't think it will happen.

Well Forsberg talent was unreal compare to Hejduk and if it wasn't from his injuries he could have done sooooooooooooooooooo much more in his career and for the Avs too. Maybe it's because he's my all time favorite player that I think like this but he deserved it more than Hejduk. Though I'm not bashing on Milan he and Forsberg were a terrific duo. That also helped his stats to play with him.

Meh..when I look at the stats Hejduk is a long time Av who has scored at a 2nd line winger pace for most of his career....and occasional outbursts of top level when playing with some superstars. I dunno...Trevor Linden like numbers when not with Joe and Peter. I change my stats...unless this guy was a HERO in the community of Denver....like Trevor in Vancouver really only merits a ring of honor type celebration. For some reason I thought he had scored 40 more than he has, and 50 more than once. I thought he had 100 point seasons but does not even have one.

he is a great player for sure...but the guys they have retired are much much better. Adam Foote is a super leader and defensive stalwart who deserves it no question. Hejduk is borderline at best.

I hope that news I saw yesterday about having 6 NHL games outside is a joke. That's the most stupid idea ever.

He's looked pretty solid in his second game on a line with Kelly and Jagr, with that being said this line is obviously being carried by granpa Bruin and it was only against the Panthers, who are arguably the worst team in the league. Was still nice to see them spending the majority of their shifts in the offensive zone though. Still amazed how you can play hockey at that level with only 20% vision in one eye.

Not surprised, as I have said many times, Leafs are pretty decent and underrated team because of failures from years past, they should be considered a serious threat for everyone in the playoffs. Unless the nerves and excítement get in their way. Not many really elite teams in the NHL these days, especially not in the East, gives solid but unspectacular teams like the Leafs or Isles the opportunity to shine.

You know I was just joking! Indeed they have a great team but it's still weird to see them qualified. I heard great words about Soderberg, I wasn't aware he got vision problem with one eye!

If the Bruins and Habs an not careful the Leafs will take the NE Division. As it is there is a good chance that the Leafs/Habs game on Saturday will be a home ice/4th seed battle. Toronto holds the ROW tie-breaker over both Montreal and Boston.

If Montreal falters against the Jets the Leafs just have to beat get two points out the Florida road trip then beat the Habs. If the Habs beat the Jets the Leafs have to take all 3 games they have left.

Boston and Montreal each need to get 3 points in thier remaining games to knock the Leafs out of contention for the Division.

Yeah that would be be nice for them! Both the Bruins and the Habs are struggling right now. Though I'm sure the Bruins are less horrible than the Habs.
