That sucks for Panarin. I guess they didn't want too much players of the same team.

He still has a chance if Laine doesn't participate.

So they play 3-on-3 in the All-Star game now?
I haven't watched an All-Star game in many, many years and won't be watching this year either (I've no interest in skills competitions and All-Star games, and 3-on-3 doesn't pique any interest for me)

I've always enjoyed the skills competition more than the game itself. I remember one year they had each team in the NHL do their own skills competition and IIRC, they then sent their winners to compete in those events for the league. That makes so much more sense than just have the guys voted into the all star game compete for fastest skater or hardest shot. Sometimes the player who would be best at that event might not be a part of the ASG.

It seems Toews said he considered that Panarin, Anisimov and Hossa were better choices than him this year for ASG. I can't agree more

I always watch the skills competition but never the game. I'm always amazed to see their talent.

You don't like Suter?
He's leading NHL in +/-, gotta count for something?
I would have picked Scheifele instead of Laine. (lol, feels like I'm betraying my home country here!

) But what is Mike Smith doing there?

3 on 3 started last year.

I guess there will no longer be ''John Scott'' players in the All-Star game

Oh I didn't even think about it? They skipped the fan voting then.

My wife just got a call on her cell phone...my oldest daughter's at the Oiler game with her partner!
He got free tickets via his work, they're in the "sky lounge"

Tickets (if they'd paid!) are $330 each

It didn't even start from the beginning when he circled his own net first. But I guess that doesn't require much skill.

But anyway he held on to the puck a bit longer than it showed.

Danault is having a pretty good season so far. Very nice acquisition with a second rounder for Weise. If Danault continu like this he will probably be MTL 3rd center for a long time as well as being a decent replacement on the second in case of injuries just like right now.

The french-speaking guys at TVA were discussing his skills a the intermission of PIT-WAS. Saying he as a very nice fit in 2nd line C among the "vets" of the first two lines of the Canadien while others are injurued.
Almost saying "we don't need that second line center in a trade now, we have one from the system we just resigned a while ago for a decent price".
Eager to see how the youngsters hold up in the next 10 or 15 games for Montreal
..another nice dude Bowman traded from Chicago..

I've had the Oilers/Flames game in the background this evening (currently 1-1 in the third), it's been an OK game to watch

Wow that's a high scoring game! Washington actually had a 3-0 lead early in the 2nd period and the Pens came back for the win...
Malkin had a hat trick and was +1, Crosby had a goal and four points and was +3, Ovechkin had two assists and was -4 (and only 2 of the 15 goals were PP goals)

Yeah it's pretty crazy! I was looking at the +/- too and noticed that even the high scoring guys were a bit low. The second period seems to have been crazy.

I have Backstrom and Kuz in my fantasy team, was shocked to find out they only had 1 point each were minus 5 combined.
Looks like the big boys for the Caps didn't show up.

Apparently AGM Doug Weight will replace Jack Capuano...I remember Weight as a player with the Oilers, didn't even know he was the Islanders AGM!

Same here, haha!

Fantastic player!
Apparently he's been AGM and Assistant coach since 2011/12.

It was a dream to think the Avs could beat Chicago with a 4-3 lead in the third period.
Another high scoring game this time between the Rangers and the Stars.
