Thunderbug is right. We did the Kings for Challenge #7. We did the Blue Jackets for Challenge #6. If you go to Challenge Stats (at the top of the screen) you can see a list of the teams we've used. The Wild might have too good of a mix of talent and prospects. They might be too easy. The Oilers might have some talent but they've also got a lot of overpaid players and that could hinder them.

Does anyone have any other team suggestions?

Thrashers or Preds might be challenging.

I think the Preds are a good idea. I wonder about the Thrashers though. Even though they don't have any depth, I think Kovalchuk might be enough to carry them (in EHM at least).

What about an OHL team? If we're using the latest Lidas roster update, the OHL has been updated. That could be pretty interesting.

I vote for another non-NHL challenge. I would like to try a Euro league.

Yeah well not really... I used OHL's website to create facepacks for OHL but stopped after london as like 6-7 players were missing. Either they were not traded or just without contract. That might just be London though (and I fixed the Tavares trade myself so those 3 players were not the 6-7 missing)

Facepacks are not the deciding issue on challenges. They are a bonus. Also, Hypno...we may look at a Euro league, just not yet. I dunno. Maybe. I am curious about them too.

Anyway ... Manimal since you did the research any idea who are the weakest OHL teams? I am gonna have a look now.

The Kingston Frontenacs are pretty brutal...in a few runs through the first season with the Lidas DB, they consistently finished as one of the bottom two teams in the league. (Also they are brutal in real life, from having seen them actually play...)

Chilliwack in the WHL might be a nice challenge, being an expansion club and all. I think any junior level club would work, since they are run so vastly differently than pro teams.

WHL has not been updated in Lidas db yet. So we won't be using them. Once done we will look at that. Problem with Chilli is that Oscar Moller and Evan Pighin would both be on their roster right now, and it is possible that Mark Santorelli would be too. All are very good.

And since we did a junior team last time, many have figured out how it works. Remember...you are playing against other junior teams, and one that is too stacked would be too easy. Even one stud player makes it too easy.

Yeah but what im saying is that many players that are supposed to be in London arent and vice-versa

A lot has changed in OHL since the DB was released, and London was involved in a huge blockbuster trade (Tavares, Del Zotto, and many more players changed teams). Manimal continously keeps sending me updates to his research, and they will be in in next release.

I didn't participate in the last challenge, I tried to start up with the team, but I just can't get interested in a non-NHL team, I don't think I will play anything but an NHL team.

I could go for an OHL challenge for #12. Maybe Sault Ste. Marie or Erie, but I like the Kingston idea as well.

If we end up with an NHL challenge though, I would either use the Islanders or the Florida Panthers.

In the OHL, I'd definately say the Kingston Frontenacs. They are well below the other teams

I think the 'nucks are a bit too strong for a challenge, especially now that they have "Sudden"

Yeah, it's highly unlikely that we'd take the Canucks. Many of us could take them to a Stanley Cup without making any trades. A goalie like Luongo is just too much of an advantage. Plus, they've still got plenty of other talent.

i agree, the Nucks are too good. I've running a game with the Lidas roster, and the Nucks won the presidents trophy. BTW, i think Edler is far to highly rated in Lidas' rosters. I just hope we get an NHL team. BTW, do we know when a vote will start?

Edler was rated based off his performance last season. Since he signed his contract he has not been as good that is for sure. But at the time...his performance warranted becoming a potential 1-2. And maybe it still does.

A very good question. I would very much like to get rolling on my first challenge.

Honestly, when we have some time. Also want to give Lidas some time with the new research he has. Maybe then we can include a WHL team in the poll. :-D

Then I nominate Portland and Moose Jaw. I haven't seen the database yet but they are not very impressive teams

Not sure how long it will take Lidas, so we may not put WHL in.

Manimal--When you did the OHL did you do the draft picks and assign them to their teams (not the actual draft--but did you give the rights to their teams, and do their numbers off sheet?)
