Hello everyone!
I deciced to sign up here finally

. It is really nice to get to talk to the forums here.
To the point, I decided to start play with Calgary Flames. First, I traded my rights for
Tim Erixon to Minnesota Wild for
Mikko Koivu. I lost three draft picks in trade, too. My second trade was
Daymond Langkow -> NY Islanders. I got defender
Jack Hillen and rights to
Jyri Niemi. I placed
Eric Nystrom,
Craig Conroy and
Brian McGrattan to waivers. Next I'm going to catch backup-goalie for
Miikka Kiprusoff.

Do you tend to acquire Finns.

I admit that Mikko Koivu was in my plans, but Islanders actually offered Hillen and Niemi for me. I just wanted to get away from Langkow because of his big salary.

Lundmark? Jamie Lundmark?
How strong he is in your team? Is he good enough for the NHL? I watch him in my game for some time. In the European leagues, he leaves behind a good impression.

Yeah, it's Jamie Lundmark. He was OK in pre-season, 0+1 points in 4 exhibition matches. Now I have played 3 matches from the season, and Jamie has not been very impressive. 0 points and Average Rating 6. I have used him on 3rd and 4rd line.

With my Yotes in the second season, in my first season we reached the conference finals where we lost 4-0 to the then dominating Red Wings.

Kariya - Lombardi - Zherdev
Torres - Hanzal - Asham
Prucha - Mueller - S. Kostitsyn
Jovanovski - Aucoin
Yandle - Salo
Grossman - Michalek
Bryzgalov - Montoya

The Capitals were doing quite bad in the league too, so I guess that also helped.
My 2nd line is: Rucinsky - Weight - Kesler
3rd: Betts - Turris - Filatov

I recently started a season with LA Kings with Lidas 2.2.In my first season I made couple of changes and here is what I ended up with.
Frolov - Kopitar - Hossa
Smyth - Stoll - Brown
A. Giroux - Handzus - Hunter
Ivanans - R. Johnson - Gordon
Blake - De Vries
Berard - Hale
O'donnel - Greene
Harrold
Quick
Ersberg
I ended up 6th in the conference and faced Ducks in the first round. I was 1-6-1 against Ducks in the regular season so I though I was in for a good beating and it seemed like it, the first couple of games. My Kings were badly ouplayed in Game 1 as we lost 1-3. In Game 2, Kopitar scored two goals but we still lost in OT. I lost Game 3 1-3 and also lost Kopitar to injury so I though I was finished for good but then came game 4 which is one of the weirdest games I've ever played. I was winning 4-0 after the first period but the Ducks came back in the 3rd and tied it at 5. Then at 86:59 in OT Sean O'Donnel who only scored one goal in regular season won it for me.
This win seemed to motivate the guys as we won Game 5 by the score of 5-1. In Game 6 Ducks decided to start Toskala instead of Hiller which seemed like a good idea since he was shuting me out for good half of the game but he finaly broke down in the latter half to allow me to score 5 goals to come back from 0-4 and win in OT.
Game 7 was really a two-man show as Quick saved 31 of 33 and Hossa scored a hattrick to finish off the Ducks.
Up next are the Sharks and I also get Kopitar back (although I lost De Vries and Johnson to injuries), so it should be another good series.

You might have given up too much to get Ovie, if you want a cheaper price just wait till he get's injured.

I just started a new game using the Leafs. I try to keep things as realistic and challenging as possible so I don't let myself do anything that I don't think could happen in real life. For example, I can't fire my coaches for a few seasons, I don't trade away anybody like Phaneuf, Kessel, Schenn, Kadri etc., I only make trades that make sense for both teams and during the first summer I can't sign Marleau since Ron Wilson doesn't like him in real life. If finish in the bottom 10 in the league then I am not allowed to sign any star players unless I significantly overpay them and I am not allowed to sign any players age 35 and over.
For the first season, the only players I would let myself trade away were Tomas Kaberle, Wayne Primeau and Garnet Exelby and I was only able to trade Kaberle in the offseason to simulate his real life NTC. Primeau had a great season on my 3rd line so I was able to trade him to San Jose for a decent young depth player (Ben Ferriero) and a defensive prospect (Taylor Doherty) at the trade deadline. At the end of the season I dealt Kaberle (who had a pretty disapointing season) to Anaheim for Luca Sbisa and Brandon McMillan.
I finished the season 25th in the league and I'm in for a pretty tough summer since I have no 1st or 2nd round picks and there isn't much available in terms of free agents.
On the positive side I am loaded with good, young defensemen in Schenn, Sbisa, Aulie, Gunnarsson and Doherty.

Started a new game with Lidas 2.2 and the Boston Bruins. This season was a struggle, didn't tinker with my roster too much. Moved M Satan to Calgary for A Pardy, and traded D Sabourin to Pittsburgh for M Rupp. Fired the coach, C Julien (despite coaching games myself, I didn't think his defensive tendencies and low adaptability was a good match for me) and replaced him with the fired Randy Carlyle. Maybe he runs practices better for me, I don't know. Squeaked into the playoffs as the 7th seed (the board had making the playoffs as my goal) and upset the 2nd seed Hurricanes squad. Now I'm up 3-1 on Washington after this victory.
Into the 4th OT and Lucic came through. I've made my team a little tougher to play against, hopefully, with some heavy hitters. Owen Nolan, Ovechkin, Pitkanen have all been placed on IR in the playoffs so far because of the Big Bad Bruins hitting them.
A lot of dead weight in the organization, so this offseason we'll let some guys (and coaches) with expiring contracts walk.
And apparently I can't get my screen capture in here. Oh well.

Just won another cup with Detroit. But the funny thing about this season is that my second line center Nathaniel St. Pierre won the scoring race. Notching up 183 points. Ok...big deal some would say. But, he averaged just over 15 min a game.

I just started a new game with the Portland Winterhawks using Lidas 1.3 (i think) and i have a import draft question.
Teemu Pulkinen is ranked 2nd but is under contract with his Finnish team for 3-4 more years, can he break that to come to juniors?

So I currently have 3 games going that I bounce back and forth from depending on my mood and how the saeson is going.
I have an NHL season with the Leafs. This is the longest I've gone an any season. I had a few succesful seasons thanks to soem strong drafting and regens. I had Tavares and two other hot rookie forwards before I ran into cap issues. I traded one away, a few seasons later I ran into cap issues again, and traded the other one away, a month later Tavares retired....and I'm officialy into rebuilding mode.
I'm currently in the 2027-2028 season. The first four years we missed the playoffs, then we went from 11th in the East to Division champs the next season. We then made the playoffs for 12 staright seasons, missed a year was back in the next year, and have now missed the last four years.
Our accolades:
Northeast Division Champions: 2010-2011
Eastern Conference Champions: 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2021-2022
Stanley Cup Champions: 2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2021-2022
So the drought ended at 47 years.
FYI Chicago ended thier drought after my three-peat so it was 62 years for them.
Season number two is in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves. This one is in 2013-2014 season. This career has been very succesful for me. We have always been in contecntion for the J. Ross Robertson trophy.
Our accolades:
Central Division Champions: 2006-2007, 2009-2010, 2010-2011, 2011-2012
Hamilton Spectator Trophy (Regular Season Champs): 2011-2012
Eastern Conference Champions: 2009-2010, 2010-2011, 2011-2012
J. Ross Robertson Champions: 2009-2010, 2010-2011, 2011-2012
Memorial Cup Runners-Up: 2011-2012
Memorial Cup Champions: 2009-2010, 2010-2011
And my third career is the on I'm running in the blog. Currently playing in the EIHL as the Belfast Giants
We just completed our first season finsihing 4th in the regular season and winning the playoffs.
