do you think you will add the RBC cup for the Canadian Junior Hockey League some day ?

I don't know if it was intended to be fixed, but in my game in the first version of the DB, QJMHL draft is still messed up... I'm feeling it's more a Riz problem now than a DB problem since it comes back again and again

I noticed a small bug, for the QMJHL and the OHL. there is 1 team in each of the leagues which play 70 games instead of 68. In the schedule list it is the entry '' 0 ''

I modified the schedule list of the 2 leagues I can send them to you if you want

edit: I may have found the problem, for the 19-20 and 20-21 saion the gatineau olympics play twice against the ottawa 67's, so its added 2 games to the '' 0 '' entry in the 2 leagues

Some day, we have an idea of how we would do it accurately. The problems lie in the facts that we have to get the whole thing wrapped up by a few hard coded end dates or we will run into issues in the sim, also it wouldn't be easy to update if teams fold/move or realign. It would easily become very complex with a lot of potential failure points (it would be more complicated then the Olympics).

Yea this is a game bug, has been reported to Riz and he is aware, hope this will be eventually fixed in the 1.5 beta, but all is quiet there for a while now....

Looks like the record_config file was causing some issues when using Retain All Teams, I pulled it entirely.

Hi! Thanks for your work! It's marvelous! I've just noticed that there should be two more teams in the Ukrainian Hockey League. This year HC Mariupol, Sokol Kyiv and HC Kramatorsk joined the league, although Dynamo Kharkiv ceased to exist.

I think maybe Luka Dostals CA is a bit low for a GK who has dominated Finish Liiga for more than a year.

Also question for you, how should these teams be classified? I feel the league should be a mix of professional and amateur clubs, is that accurate?

I'm not 100% sure as I don't live in Ukraine I just enjoy smaller leagues Though I did some initial research and according to the results of my little investigation I would guess that these teams are professional. Every team participating in UHL is obligated to have developmental junior teams as well. I've checked the website on the Ukrainian wikipedia of the worst team in this season (Bilyi Bars) and there is an information that it's "professional hockey club". But to be frank I'm not positive how accurate this source is.

First off, thank you to everyone who's volunteered their time to make this database what it is. Great work! It's giving FHM7 a run for their money in my opinion (I'm torn at the moment).

I'm from Chicago and have done some scouting work, so I have an interest in the USHL. Here are some observations (not sure if they are bugs) based on my first season (plus) in the USHL as the Chicago Steel:

(1) It appears whenever you click on the "rules" tab in the league info, the game crashes. Therefore, I don't know what roster rules you guys are using. I've just been going off the actual roster rules that the league uses (e.g. - 4 imports, 4 overaged, etc.). I'm not sure if the game can support rules such as "2 Canadian skaters don't count towards imports" and "an import goalie (even if Canadian) counts as 2 import players", etc. If you need the rules I can send them to you, but I was assuming somebody already probably did this.

(2) Players who are considered "overaged" (2000 birth years) at the start of the season aren't able to be dressed in the second half of the season starting in January. I don't know if this same issue appears in season 2 (I haven't gotten there yet, almost), so I will let you know. I have a couple 2001s for the upcoming season.

(3) I had to select "add extra players to playable teams" because during my first test run, some of the AI teams didn't have enough players. I probably should have selected extra staff too because it appears many teams have very little staff.

(4) "foreign players" don't seem to be designated in the start of my second season. I guess this may change at some point so I'll let you know. Again, the actual rules for what is counts towards "foreign" may be beyond the game engine.

Once again, great work. I remember trying to play the USHL a long time ago and it was completely unplayable because you couldn't sign ANY players. So cool being able to scout the teams I used to scout and even seeing my old high school in the game!

1) The rules -> crash issue is a known game bug in 1.4.1, I believe this is fixed in 1.5 I'll have to check. This happens for a few leagues.

2) I'll check the transfer rules, likely some odd overlap with date cutoffs.

3) Yea I haven't done detail work on USHl yet, it's on my list for the next update as that league is (mostly) playing and has finalized rosters.

4) Would need to see a save game and get more details here, rules around foreign eligibility shouldn't just change like that.

Yea the USHL and some of the other lower-junior tiers are really hard to impossible to play due to reputation, lack of budget and most importantly, lack of a draft. It's why we try to make sure we have player rights updated where we can so at least you have some level of bench, and adding and expanding more bantam/midget leagues should give some tiers of players to dip into. All-around though playing a junior-tier/high school/college league is rough.

Hey Eck. What's the best way to contact you to report issues with the database? I just got to January 1st of my second season in the USHL and ran into the "can't dress over-aged players" issue again. Also, while the game is counting "foreign players" it's including Canadian skaters so I know this isn't accurate. Again, I don't know what the limits of the editor are and how close you can get to the actual roster rules. I can send you the most recent roster rules I could find. Thanks for all your hard work.

Apparently Liam Kirk has Swedish nationality in the DB (he's actually British). This was mentioned on Reddit so I thought I'd mention here for completeness.

Don't know if it's a bug in the game or in the DB but apparently Rasmus Dahlin is still considered a rookie since he won the Calder Trophy in my save despite having played two full seasons already.

EDIT: Forgot to say thanks for all the hard work, it's really a great DB!

Believe I figured out the issue here, have to test and verify and will push a patch if needed. Basically there were no defined Transfer Rules specifically for HockeyEttan, copying Allsvenskan may fix this.

It was causing issues and was only there for testing, I need to update the screenshot.
