This is getting so annoying, eliminated in the Conference Semis again!!!
Albeit it was to Nashville, the team we battled all season who finished with 110 points, while we had 3 more than them.
Now I'm really thinking whether to trade Marleau. I already have Tavares as the number 1 center. It might be time to trade him, and hopefully get a top 2 d-man in return (or get a pick and try to acquire Phaneuf through UFA).

Not bad. 117,000 is not bad price for forward who scores 2 points/game and 80,000 is not much for good goalie. Cheap players if we compare to their stats and showing.

For sure. Before Ramo, I was paying close to 200k for Karol Krizan, and I managed to get Ramo on the cheap.
Stefan has just been awesome, especially for the price. He has 16 more points than anyone else in the Extraliga (funnily enough, the 2nd top scorer in the league is Pavel Rosa, who is his linemate)

He was good player, except in NHL.

Stefan is one of the biggest busts in first picks history

Alexandre Daigle (1993), Gord Kluzak (1982) and Brian Lawton (1983) were poor too. Lawton was ok, but poor performances forced him to retire when he was 28.

In 09-10 season with Thrashers. Last year made the playoffs after drafting with lottery pick twice in a row. It was first round exit as i lost to the #1 seeded Devils, but i'm happy i even managed to get to playoffs with that defence. :P
08-09 Thrashers
Kovalchuk - M. Koivu - Williams
Frolov - Little - Hossa
Burrows - Filppula - Brown
Prust - Draper - Ruutu
Burns - Johnsson
Hävelid - Sarich
Eaton - Wilson
Lehtonen
Brathwaite
My first line was pure gold, Kovy entered berserker mode going 86+64 in 82GP, Koivu did 21+90 while missing few games and Williams 43+53 while being injured for 10 games. Needless to say, defence is why my Thrashers went down. Oh, and ruutu had 1238PIM. =D
Off-season
Acquired Timonen for Burns, 2nd, 3rd and marginal goalie prospect. Burns didnt quite live up to expectations, so it wasn't hard to pull the trigger when Flyers counter-offered this to me.
Traded Filppula to Anaheim for 2nd 2010 - Acquired Fil at the deadline and at June i realized he got 1.4m caphit next year, so this was basically just a salary dump.
Traded Hossa to Preds for nice package of picks&prospects - Had to do this. With Hossas 10m caphit, i couldnt afford anything in the free agency due to low budget i have. I lost the trade, but i just simply had to get rid of his salary.
I let Johnsson, Eaton and Brathwaite walk to the free agency.
I signed Orpik, Mckee, Plekanec and Fedotenko from the free agency.
So the '09-10 Thrashers (4th in east after 16GP) looks like this:
Kovalchuk - Koivu - Williams
Frolov - Little - Brown
Burrows - Plekanec - Fedotenko
Prust - Draper - Ruutu
13th F: Adams
Timonen - Hävelid
Sarich - Wilson
Mckee - Orpik
Lehtonen
Rinne
If at the time of the deadline i'm still going to playoffs, im thinking of dealing Hävelid+1st for as good D-man i can get and prolly Little to as good 2nd line C as i can (Got Duchene 17th overall at the draft, so i can afford losing Little) to make first deeper playoff push with my Thrashers.

darn you change the whole club pretty fast. You should have kept Hedberg and Metropolit. Great backup and Metropolit, when some players are injured can easily play on the second or even first line. It happen often I saw him make 60 + points per season.

Had i kept the original Thrashers core, i'd still be battling for #1 pick. :P I cant remember did i even have Metropolit when i started, i'm using Unfaking 3.0 Finland rosters, which i have edited a bit (mostly fixing player potentials and adding some prospects) Anyway, worked out a deal which sent me Gonchar and Ohlund from Canucks, for Timonen, Hävelid, and half of my draft picks to next draft. :D After the trade, i've went 9-1-3 and Lehtonens stats are finally looking something a #1 goalie stats should look like (2.83GAA and .914SV%, before it was 3.3GAA and SV% hovering around .89 and .90)

Well the 15/16 season ended in dissapointing style. After a slow start, the offence gradually picked up and we managed to finish 3rd overall, with 44 wins. We experienced our regular end of season dip and struggled to get to the 40th win but got there in the end. Parise led the team with 102 points and things looked promising heading into the 1st round of the playoffs against the Canucks. Beat them in 6 games and then played the Oilers who beat us in 5. We dominated the Canucks for the most part but really went to sleep against the Oilers. And so after 11 seasons, the Chicago Blackhawks are STILL without a cup!
A 1st round regen of mine, Cole Dunn, picked up the Calder while last years Calder winner, another 1st round regen of mine, Jace Vaughan, experienced the sophomore blues and struggled his way to 42 points - half his total from the year previous.
My solid top line of Parise-Carter-Hossa has now reached the point where they are getting old and their skills are going down so I'm increasingly relying on my drafted players to step up. I'm still to identify a No. 1 goalie; both play well, sometimes, so it remains to be seen who'll end up playing the most games.

I just finished up with the Utah Grizzlies and the Tulsa Oilers, using the original database and had okay seasons. Both teams made the playoffs, with Utah losing to Victoria in the Division Final in the ECHL and Tulsa losing to Rio Grande Valley in the CHL Finals.
In regards to Utah, Anaheim signed my leading scorer the week before the playoffs started and I ended up losing my number 1 goalie to the Rangers just after the All-Star game, but I was able to sign Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers, who had become a Free Agent and traded for Adam Edinger, who became our leading scorer in the playoffs.
Tulsa had a down year until I traded away for Aaron Davis from Austin, who was able to rack up 45 points in 37 games and then went on a tear in the playoffs with 23 points in 11 games, before he was injured. Marco Emond was the stud in net winning 9 of his last 13 and then the first 7 games of the playoffs.
I find the minor league teams to be more difficult to win with because trading can be almost impossible and there are no prospects or draft picks to deal with. I've played as the Avalanche and the Fort Wayne Komets of the UHL (winning the league, I believe twice) and they are a lot easier in the trading regard and in the case of the Komets, I'm familiar with the players of the league.

So with no challenges on the fore, and me having a little time (not much about 2 hours per day), I decided I would go back to my Canucks game with the Lidas db. I am in the year 2022-23. The team has been outstanding and I have only made 1 deal every 2 years. Everyone else goes to FA. I have drafted incredibly well, including getting the Hasek regen at #30 at one point.
Right now it is December...the team is 23-4-1. It is all regens on this team save for 1 player...Monsieur Alexander Edler. He is the captain, and at 38 years old is finally starting to lose some of his speed (down to 9) but is still my leader and best dman. Alex will have played his entire career with Vancouver when he retires.
On my team I have
7 first round picks--all taken at #30 save a guy I got 1st overall when I made a deal with Buffalo way back when for a star centre I had taken 30th overall, and 1 guy who I got at 29 when I lost the Stanley Cup final after trading Luongo (I lost to Luongo's new team--Boston.)
4 2nd round picks--all taken at #60
5 3rd round picks all but 1 taken at 90th, the other was 79th
3 4th round picks--all taken at #120
2 5th round picks-Both 150th overall, 1 who is my #3 dman, and one who is in his 1st season with the team on the 4th line, but getting some PP goals (he scored 5 points in his first NHL game)
1 7th round pick-taken 209 overall the year I lost to Boston, 2nd last pick of the draft and is my backup goalie, who now is my #1 for a month since Hasek regen is in rehab for an injury.
Anyway...the top performer of my lower round picks is a guy I got in the 4th round. He is now a staple on my 2nd line, 2nd pp and 2nd PK. A right winger, who has one the Selke twice and been on the 2nd all star team once. He won the Calder trophy and was 2nd 3 times for the Conn Smythe. In his 5 seasons with the team. And he has scored 35 goals twice and over 20 the other 3 seasons. Plus he can fight. Wow...me likey that guy.

That's the reason I've been unwilling to put EHM on my new computer....I'm still running it off my "old" laptop (4 years old, but purchased just before computers making leaps in their standard hardware basics...i.e. 512 MB RAM, 40 GB Hard Drive lol).

Thrashers save is history, decided to add/edit things into database. Basically i checked all current players potentials, most notable already drafted players potentials, added people to '07, '08, '09 and '10 draft classes, then created a bunch of finnish, czech and slovakian players to even international games little bit. It's still not basically ready as i f*cked up with Markström accidentally setting him to retire, and some players mental stats arent what they should, but i started a Kings save, prolly playing it to the 2020s so i can find out most of the things that still needs fixing.
Finished first season with Kings earlier today, finishing 4th in Western Conference with 106 points. Only to lose to Oilers in 7 games in first round. Lineup was the following:
Frolov - Kopitar - Brown
Cammalleri - Franzen - Jagr
Knuble - Handzus - O'Sullivan
Adams - Taffe - Tukonen
Blake - Visnovsky
Stuart - Keith
Klemm - Johnson
Grahame
Thomas
Acquired Keith, Franzen, Knuble, Adams, Thomas and Taffe as they were put in the block, while traded for Jagr in January when few teams was trying to get him, i figured he's basically avaible and sent my offer, which Rags accepted. Traded for Grahame at the start of the game, 'cause i didnt feel too comfortable with Cloutier in net. :P
Next season i'll be rolling mostly the same lineup, with the changes of Thomas being traded to Avs, Klemm walks to Free Agency and Johnson wants to be traded, so i might have to trade him too.
Kings 07-08
Frolov - Kopitar - Brown
Cammalleri - Franzen - Jagr
Knuble - Handzus - O'Sullivan
Adams - Taffe - Tukonen
Blake - Visnovsky
Stuart - Keith
UFA - Johnson/Another UFA/Whatever i can get in trade
Grahame
