Mmmm the best way to get UFA easy is to take a team with a good reputation, like Montreal or Toronto. Even if your team sucks bad you can have easily great UFA with them. I don't know what other team though. :-k

I'm beginning an adventure at New York Rangers. It will be nice to be a team that can get into the playoffs.... [-o< . Here are my lines for the upcoming season.

Forwards
Straka- Nylander- Jagr
Prucha- Cullen- Shanahan
Hossa- J.Ward- Hall
Hollweg- Betts- Ortmeyer

Defense
Kasparaitis- Rozsival
Tyutin- A.Ward
Malik- Rachunek

Goalies
Lundqvist- Weekes

Even though it's still early in the season (17 games played), I'm 1st.

Rangers are a pretty easy team to have if you wanna ake the playoffs. Jarg can make you win games just by himself and Lundqvist is one of the best goalie in the game.

Any recommendations on who I can replace him with?

I've completed my first season at the Rangers. We made the playoffs finishing 6th in the east, getting record points high (for me) of 101.

In the playoffs we were up against the Bruins, they beat me 4 times to my 0 in the regular season. The omens didn't look good. At one point during the series I had a 3-1 lead. In game 6 I was up 3-1 only for the Bruins to beat me in overtime (for the 2nd time). Game 7 proved to be an anti-climax I lost the game 4-1.

Hi guys! Long time lurker, first time poster! I support and play with the Thrashers, I made a few trades in the beginning, how's this for a roster? Feedback would be very very highly appreciated!

Forwards
Afinogenov-Antropov-Kozlov
Arthyukin-White-Williams (Justin, traded from Kings)
Boulton-Little-Roy
Slater-Kane-Peverley

Defense
Sutton-Kubina
Odyua-Davison (Rob, from Devils' AHL team)
Bogosian-Valabik

Goalies
Hedberg-Pavelec

I know it's a bit weird, prospects such as Kane and Bogosian really play on higher lines but I judged from the stats (even as Kane being my favorite young player) and putted them low, and Antropov has played very well and players such as Slater keep on scoring even in lower lines. Whadda yall think?

You should put Kane in AHL or is junior team just for is development, I don't think it's a good idea to make him in the NHL right now and plus on the 4th line. do what you want with him but that's what I'd done with him. For the rest, great line-up!

.....By the way, why don't you go in the Arrivals section to introduce yourself!

Thanks!
Yeah, I think I was too hungry to see my fav kid play you know :D But sure, I'll send him to AHL, I think there's an urgent need of players down there anyways. Is there any way of helping him evolve or should I just send him down and wait for a while?

I never played with the update database honestly, but put him in the AHL for now, if after 10 game he's like 6 or 6.10 of ratio, drop him with his junior team, if he beat everything in the AHL, let him go like that all season, it's gonna help for sure!

I'm currently playing my GM career, where I started as unemployed.
My first job was in Danish Liga Nordsjaelland Cobras in late january of first year, but after month I moved in HPK SM-Liiga. In HKP I only played 7 playoff games where we lost to Blues in thrilling series. ](*,)
In summer my apply to Wheeling Nailers in ECHL went trough and I found myself in new team again.
Year in Wheeling ended and we won Kelly Cup. Because I didn't get any applications trough in AHL or NHL teams I hopped back in SM-Liiga and this time in Ässät. ECHL didn't give me any challenges and Ässät is currently very challenging team. In last year Ässät fighted against JokiPo and barely managed to stay in SM-Liiga.
Pre-season was though one and we lost all training games even to Mestis teams.
My main focus in this team is rebuilding and I am doing pretty fine at the moment. We still lose almost every game, but we are doing better after every match. We currently have youngest team in Liiga 24 years average.
I'm planning to stay in Ässät until I get job offer fom AHL or NHL.. that might take a while. :nerd:

Managing the Bruins. I've completed 8 seasons, which includes 4 Stanley Cups in 5 trips to the Finals. Oddly enough, the last four years, its been my vs. the Canucks every year, with me winning three of those matchups. Safe to say, the Bruins and Canucks in this world probably share a healthy rivalry by now.

I've always wondered how you guys make Tavares such a good player. He never became that good in my games.
The best I got out of him was about 60 points once. Maybe wrong practise.. :-k

Oh.....you don't play with the lastest DB?? When I play with the original DB, he never became THAT good too...sorry I was just guessing. :-p Still surprising to see them won this earlier.

Tavares only scored 76 points that season. And he was traded to the Oilers a few seasons later, and is now in Anaheim.

Looks exactly like the Tavares I got in my games, never draft him and never wanted too, I prefer my regens. :-D

Apparently my board felt I was doing a bad job. After winning 4 Stanley Cups in 7 years, I only got 49 wins and finished 6th (2 pts out of 4th) last season, and was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. As a result, it was apparently clear to them that I should be fired...

I've been playing as the Rangers as of late, and I've been to the Cup finals 4/5 years of my tenure (1st year was the only time we didn't win, tank for HALL!!! (103 pts in his rookie season on the 2nd line with Little and Bergfors)).

Lines are looking pretty nice, lot smart trades.

Ladd - Malkin - Hossa
Hall - Little - Bergfors
Neal - Backlund - Ortmayer
Mackenzie - Smith - Russian Regen (Looking like a 2nd liner soon)

Coburn - Green
Mitchell - ???
(CDN Regen) - (SWE Regen)

Quick
Some random plug.

Waiting for some of my prospects to develop. Looks like I have Hasek and Forsberg. Brodeur's regen is in the next draft and so is Lidström's.

Though with my entering the Sting Challenge, I might have to put this off for a bit.

4 years in....and what not one Ranger left. Wow. Not sure why but that always bothers me. Moved out at least 20 guys in 4 years.

5 years in and I just buried the naff contracts in the minors. The year before that I had 5 Rangers remaining that I had to let go (Grachev being one of them, I was sad to release him as he wanted 5 million, and I was only going to pay him 3-3.5. Though he got up to 73 pts in his 2nd and 3rd seasons, he had an off year when his contract was up for renewal.

I gutted the entire team in the first year and built my defence through the draft and through some major trades.
