Minstrel or Archibalduk, maybe you can't comment on this but I thought I'd ask and let you decide if it's appropriate or not.
Since you've been beta testing the game will you have some mod files (specifically rinks with logos) ready to go on release? Or, again if you can comment, are they the same as v2005 so other than teams like Buffalo that change can we still use the old ones? Or feel free to comment on any mods that may be in the works, if appropriate.
Thanks,
Sweed

Yeah, I've just got a new computer and was wondering if I should bother transferring the graphics over from the old one, are the formats the same?

Of course I'm not Minty or Archi but IIRC, I saw a thread around here somewhere saying that they were working on a photo pack mod. Pretty slick stuff.

There's a couple of projects we're currently experimenting with at the moment. We've got some logo and facepacks (amongst other things) in the works but I can't say when they'll ready - maybe some will be ready for Friday whereas others will be after.
I don't want to get in trouble with SI so I won't say anything too specific about EHM 2007. But I will say that it does use different image dimensions for logos as compared with EHM 2005. I think image sizes for face images have also changed but I need to double-check that with Minstrel. The way rink graphics are done is also completely different.
One of the really good things of having Minstrel on the EHM testing team is that some of his input has led to EHM being more customisable in the way of graphical addons. The SI team have added some really neat features allowing greater customisation.

Arrrr... we don't want to finds ourselves swabbin the decks or walkin the plank for giving up too much information on the new booty... [/pirate talk day]
I'll probably release a "Project Ideas for EHM 2007" thread in the Graphics Forum on Friday to hip people to what some new options are and how they will work.
Many of the things you will be able to copy over, of course there will be 2007 updates to account for new teams, team renamings, restyling of logos/jerseys etc. soon after release.
We had more content tested and ready to go for 2005 since there was the Gold beta we could get people to test projects before the actual full release, since things were still changing in the last moments we haven't had that time this year. We will however have things available on release day and you'll just have to stay tuned for futher releases especially from our designers who will only be recieving the game on Friday.
We'll be doing more to keep people up on what's been released this year too

Thanks for the replies guys. Certainly don't want anyone violating their NDA , just getting stoked for Friday and any info that I can get to help me plan ahead feeds the flames
My son's at college and my wife and daughter are going to be gone for the weekend. So other than getting stuck working 8 hours Saturday I'm going to have a lot of uninterupted free time to see what the new game has to offer

Good luck!

Can you have a freind dowload it for you and burn it to a CD? Even if you have to re-hook to the 'net to enter your code the game will still give you six months of gametime as a demo

Will the Demo be out when the game is released?? As I will downlaod the demo when it is released.

The demo is the game... everyone downloads the version that allows them to play six months in the game, it's putting in the code that allows you to continue

Argh. I know they said they was releasing it in time with the game. I guess this way I get to try out different leagues for 6 months at a time.

Will players who don't purchase the full version still be able to have full online capabilities ala 2005?

I assume so as it's the full version of the game and they don't usually do anything except add in the time limit...

I can go round someone's house and download it I guess, but I reckon I will hit 6 months game time pretty quick. Not to worry, I will probably do that, does anyone know what size the download is, I've got one of those portable drives with 128MB capacity, will it fit on that?

It'll be about 110mb. You should just be able to fit it on your 128mb USB stick.

Marvellous, at least I'll have the demo then.

Anyone heard any details on what time they're releasing the game tomorrow? I'm hoping it's a slow day at work and I'll have a chance to play. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until that night.
