CIS next?
CIS would be great eventually but it's pretty far down my list. Somebody else can feel free to take a crack at it. I've never really paid much attention to how well CIS sims in the game anyways - do the CIS teams sign CHL-grads and guys from lower junior leagues pretty accurately or how does that model work in this version of EHM? Like - with NCAA, obviously there are some hurdles to making it 100% accurate but at least the game has always inherently had US colleges sign prospects from non-CHL junior leagues. But since CIS teams often get guys out of the CHL who either can't cut it at the pro level yet or want to continue their education - does that already happen in the game?
PS - isn't it called like USports or something silly now?

I believe in-game it works pretty good. Yes it's U-Sports Hockey League now...

As someone who enjoys watching collegiate hockey from time to time, I appreciate you putting the time and effort for this.
Wanting to manage an NCAA team myself, I've tried experimenting with method #2 in the database editor, but ran into some issues along the way unfortunately. The scheduling happens to be one of them. I have the maximum amount of games set to 34, but for some reason, the game schedules around 50-60 instead.
The other is the crash I get when the season preview comes up. Pretty much what you've mentioned when it comes to having 60 teams in one league.

I really like the idea of building my own college team, however that doesn’t seem to be the case. I tried the version here but I couldn’t recruit anything and in the new TBL roster 9.2, even the ones that want to play college hockey, like Casey Mittelstadt for example, turns me (Boston Univ.) down. I can get Mittlestadt to try-out for me though, but not sign. I can't sign high school players either, even though I give them the status they want when it comes to contracts, they always turn med down.
Can someone help a rookie here? I just want to recruit and build my own college team. How do you guys do it?
TBL 9.2 Rosters [NCAA] Can't offer new staff money.

When trying to sign staff in this new update from TBL, I can't offer new staff any money on their contracts. I even fired an assistant coach to make sure that I wasn't at my "staff cap" or anything.
Is anyone else having this issue?

Thanks for reporting it. We will see what we can do to sign coaches in NCAA but it might be game bug. Seems also is hard to sign new players in NCAA teams. Did You also see this situation?

What team are you playing as?
What is their rep?
I'm thinking this is an issue with some programs having too low of a rep.

Haven't gotten that far yet, but my player budget is 20,000$, and with 24 players on the roster, I'm sitting at 35,000$. With each player making 1,500$, I'd have to let 6 players go to make it under that budget, and then I wouldn't have enough players to ice a team.

When you offer "contracts" to players in NCAA leagues, the default values should be for $0. At that point, a budget of $20,000 is just to keep your board from complaining about finances.

I'm having similiar problem along with inability to hire any staff. Tried with Army Black Knights, Maine Black Bears, Minnesota Golden Gophers and Wisconsin Badgers with no luck. Tried different start dates (early and US)
I'm using the 9.2 roster.
Edit: Tried giving the teams money - still not able to hire. Can only offer 0 as the contract offer.
Edit2: Adding Financial rules along with (TV) money to Big Ten teams allows me to offer money to coaches and potentially hire them. Still the sums I can offer are really low: around 5000-7000 euros for assistants, 43k for head coaches even with almost a million in available cash, but at least I can hire coaches now.

Something for Riz to watch at unfortunately.
I set 10.000.000 in money and 10.000 in reputation it doesn't change.

This not the case. There's something wrong with settings. If you have a low rep, you won't sign ovechkin, but you'll be able to sign jussi jokinen. Here you can't sign even my grandfather

Like I said in the post, Boston University. I tried to put the reputation on the same level as the Boston Bruins, but no luck there either.
Really sad, because this is such great work, but if we can't sign our own players, it becomes pointless.

I'll need to get in and poke around I guess. I'm not sure what's different with BKarchitect's DB and the TBL one.
This is partly my bad for missing it. I tried starting a game as Arizona St. (because I said I was going to do a much lesser school) and couldn't sign anyone and assumed that was because of low team rep. I shouldn't have just assumed that was why. So I raised their rep and budget, and they still can't. So yes, there's definitely a problem still somewhere with the TBL DB. I'm going to open two editors and start comparing stuff. I'm wondering about the League reputations now....
BKarchitect's has B1G rep at 10, and the TBL has it at 9. He also has the Division Level at 02, and TBL has it at 05.
He has the NCHC at a league rep of 10, and TBL has it at 9. He has Division Level at 05 and TBL has it at 06.
10 and 9 again for Hockey East, with both set to Division Level 01.
WCHA reps are 10 and 9 also.
I wondering then if 9 is simply too low a league rep for the NCAA leagues, and 10 is where they'll sign. Regardless of team reputations then, players will just maybe spurn the leagues themselves.

I haven't changed much from BKarchitect's db. I don't really think it's a DB thing. I think that the NCAA must have something hardcoded. The game isn't designed with NCAA in mind, remember this.
That being said, simming costs nothing and I will do some tests.
If we solve the problem we'll release a new version right away.

Ok I eat my words: there's something wrong with our DB.
I'll release a new version as soon as I find out what.

Tried to set rep at 10. No luck. Still need to figure out what's different from BKArchitect's db with ours.
I also set div. level the same as he did.
If anyone can help us, please do so.

Having downloaded both database, tbl 9.2 and bkarchitect one's, one of the probably main difference is team's like Miami Redhawks for the NCHC, Michigan Wolverines of the BIG10 etc.. etc.. are set to "Junior" in the 9.2 Tbl rosters and "Amateur" in the BKarchitect one for the "Professional status".
Probably Easier to signe players if its considered as an amateur team and not a junior team

Well done on implementing the NCAA into the game as well as some other leagues. I must say, I'm rather impressed.
In regards to not being able to sign players, I was having an issue with that as well. In order to compensate for this, I went into the database editor and added in financial details for the United States and the NCAA Frozen Four. For balancing reasons, I had to do this or I else couldn't sign any players/staff.
Also, I noticed that each conference has the same OT format. I thought I'd inform you guys on this since some conferences have different OT. For instance:
BIG 10: uses a 3-person shootout following the initial OT period. If still tied, a sudden-death shootout follows.
NCHC & WCAC: Five minutes of 3-on-3 OT. If tied, a sudden-death shootout follows.
AHA, ECAC, Hockey East: Five minutes of OT. If nobody scores, then the game ends in a tie.
Of course, this is only minor imo as these rules for non-conference games are agreed upon by the coaches of both teams beforehand.

Posts like this - no offense intended - are unuseful.
Please tell us what you did in detail so that we can try/implement.

None taken. It's quite simple, really.
1. I open up the database in the database editor.
2. Then went into
Finance Info under
competitions
3. Copied the financial info for Canada and named it United States with the league set to none.
4. Then I copied the info for the Canadian Hockey League Memorial Cup, named it NCAA Frozen Four with the league set to NCAA Frozen Four.
Of course this is only a template, but it really helps.
If you have any further concerns, feel free to let me know.
