Whoa, just won fifth match against Halifax in the President Cup final and therefore I've qualified for Memorial Cup. :-D :joy:

darn, right before Memorial Cup my best player for the season, FGC, gets signed by Fresno. ](*,)

that is how the junior hockey goes in this game. For now, we have to deal with it as it happens...maybe in future challenges we will change things up. We knew this might happen (and likely would).

IRL, players don't get signed to minor-pro contracts until after their junior season has finished

Even without FGC I managed to win the Memorial Cup as well, guess I just had bad luck with the awful timing with him signing to Fresno.

How am I going to record that FGC really was my best player, he scored 71 points, but now when he's in Fresno he's not in my stats over my team.

Oops, it should be "of my team".

That's another one I think we'll have to discuss. It's not like you traded him. He got signed away. For the time being, I would take a screen shot of FGC's QMJHL stats and hold on to it.

Congratulations Joe! That's no small feat. I guess you won't be the most improved team next season, though. :-D

Yeah we know what happens in real life Manimal. But the game is messed up in this area and we knew that going in. As B72 said about the stats..screenshot showing FGC signed by Fresno, and screen shot of his stats with Sea Dogs will do it. We are being nice...

Oh, you do, do you? I thought you were just a cranky ol' hockey mom, screaming at the coach for not playing your kids even though they can't skate and has the stick upside down. ;)
Just joking around, pulling your leg (that's a major for slew-footing)
All I meant to say was that it's an error in the game. It seemed like people took it for something that happens in reality as well

my guys are starting to get on my nerves, 40 shots on goal and they give up only one goal, next game they give up 7 goals on 20 shots. Joyal keeps letting Adam Oates shots go by him, even dribbles will go by when they shouldn't.

However Luc Melanson is my man in one-on-one situtations, i don't know how many times that guy has picked up a loose puck at center ice and put it in the net. been amazing for me in shootouts and in regular games.

My team is also making me want to put my head through a wall as we lost 13 of 17 in the last segment. However, we've started great in the 3rd segment of the game, winning 4 in a row to start. Even with the great turn of events, I needed to shake things up on my 29th birthday, so yesterday I made a deal with Rimouski:

I sent my 4th round pick in 2007 along with Bouchard (who had 7 points in 28 games and was a healthy scratch in the other 6 games) to Rimouski for Olivier Legault (A screenshot can be brought up if needed)

This sends one overaged player for another, plus Legault is an enforcer, which is needed.

In real life Legault plays here in Fort Wayne for the Komets of the International Hockey League and the fans here love him.

I'm pushing to get Benoit Doucet (another overager) from Victoriaville, but I just don't think that I have enough resources to get him.

I also made another trade, this time for David Perron of Lewiston, for Matthew Stoddard, the rights to another player and a 5th round draft choice.

Both screenshots of the trades are in my personal image gallery, since I have no idea how to create a link on the message board (just too lazy, either that or plain ignorance OR just plain disgust since my Avs lost, again)

Quick question from a newbie. Season 1 for me will likely be completed this weekend, and I am not sure how to save and post the screenshots. Am I correct in saying that once I save them on the hard drive, I upload them below?

The Blue Line Forum Index -> Image Gallery -> Personal Gallery of stacker_s

Once I upload them, how do I then post them in the stat challenge forum?

P.S. My team can't score worth a lick, I don't know how you are all doing it.

I've never done them from the Image Galleries here, so I couldn't tell you how. What I've always done is upload them to something like Photobucket. It's free to set up an account. Once they're uploaded there you just have to copy and paste the links they provide.

Yeah I use photobucket too....So easy.

So I went to Mem CUp in year 1. Team left something to be desired though. AFter beating London. We were beaten 4-3 by eventual champ Everett. Then we were hammered by the Giants 5-0. In semi final though team played hard and only beaten 3-2 by Vancouver.

My trade of Maxim Joyal for Jonathon Bernier (I took back an overager as well, and gave them one of my 19 year olds in the deal..cannot recall which one) really paid off. He played better than Joyal and the 20 year old I got back did well on my 3rd line. Helped make Thomas a much better player, and assisted with Voracek (my only other trade was for Voracek and Lund). becoming a decent power play guy in the playoffs and mem cup.

I hate FGC and KGC but for some reason I will still have at least KGC for season 2. FGC has to make it as one of my 3 20 year olds. Not sure he will.

FGC was great for me during the second season, he was so good that he earned a contract with Fresno Falcons, too bad it was 3 days before Mem. Cup, but I managed to win it anyway. :-D

Great trades there by the way. =D>
I had Bernier as well and he was a key player in my team both in the first where almost he alone took us to playoff and in our Mem. Cup victory season 2.

i just finished through 34 games (took awhile since the team got on my nerves quickly) and is it me or do the guys just make you wish you could strangle them sometimes? i see them playing just stupid at times.

On a lighter note i Melanson is my teams 2nd leading scorer behind FGC and Block is becoming my main guy on the Defense i want taking the shot (9 goals so far and i think like 7-8 assists)

haha true, though i wish they played more like high school football QBs who make stupid passes. These guys take 10 minutes to decide where they want to pass the puck. however, the defender only waits for about 5 minutes before he takes the puck ](*,)

I'm almost done with my first season (65 games played) and past the trade deadline. I haven't made one trade. I'm in first place in the Q and third overall in the CHL Top 10 rankings. I probably should've made some deals but I wanted to see if I could make do with what I have and then address my needs in the draft.

I just had to start my game over as my first save was appearantly corrupted, I couldn't get past Nov 6 (I think) without crashing.

Something I noticed is that the randomness for some players at this level is crazy, Sauvé only made the team because of an injury and KGC is playing on the farm. Veysey is far from the scoring speedster he was in my first save, he had both skating numbers in the green, and moved from the first line in that game to the fourth line in this one.

I guess the good news is I don't have to play the first 17 games with the same team again, I get to do it with a whole new one. :)

Marsac, I had a similar experience to what you had (including having to restart due to a corrupted save). I remember Veysey being pretty good on my first game but he's a 4th liner on my current one. Sauve was a little better in my first game but he's still good in my current one. Cote was a regular on my defense and did really well in the first save but he's sub-par in the current one. FGC was better than KGC but now it's reversed. Sparling wasn't so special in the first game but he's my top point producer now. Neil was one of my top 2 centers and now he's my 3rd line center. MacLellan didn't do much in my first save but in the current one he's 2nd only to Sauve in points among my defensemen. His attributes don't look special but his play has been.

Because these guys are so young, we're seeing more of the random potential come into play than we normally do. The thing is, in all of our other challenges this has happened as well but we don't pay such close attention to these youngsters.
