Dubnyk will be hard to develop to be a regular, but as everybody "have" to play him, it becomes a bit lacking in strategy.
The most exciting thing about my last game wasn't the score nor the fact it brought me up to the 7th spot, it was this:

8 games in and I've won exactly 1 game! I've also registered 4 O/SL. I can't win a shootout to save my life! I'm actually impressed with O'Sullivan so far. He's leading the team in goals, assists, and points.
As for the developmental player, Brule has a set potential but it's too high. Reddox might be somewhat developed already but he doesn't have much room to develop. He could still be an option. I'm not really too keen on using the goalies for this. Their stats are based too much on how the team in general is doing.

I won 2 shootouts and lost 1, also won one game in overtime. I'm not too impressed with Sully, he got 14p and 7.14 in 18 games for me.

I don't know how Moreaus Fighting got changed from allowed to Encouraged, that's why he got so many penalties and got thrown out a lot! Well, he racked up grades between 7-10 and is now at 212 pim in 18 games

. Captain Emo shows how it's done!

I'm writing down the stats for the first time. One point out of Play-offs isn't too bad.

Woo-hoo! I'm riding a 3 game winning streak! 13 games in and I'm not 4-3-6 and in 10th place. I don't know if it's the training and players learning my tactics or if it's the slight juggling of my top 2 lines. Either way, they're looking okay lately.

Who are you using on the top lines, B72? Me, I'm still in the exhibitions and haven't decided on the lines yet. I guess I'll move O'Sullivan to the left wing and play him together with Hemsky and Gagner or Horcoff, and Comrie with Penner on the second line. We'll see how it goes.
Roloson on waivers... I really have to hold myself back to avoid claiming him. Toskala's shopped around by the Ducks, and boy even having Toskala would be nice.

Right now I'm using...
Comrie - Horcoff - Hemsky
Cogliano - Penner - O'Sullivan
And on the PP I switch it up to...
Horcoff - Comrie - Hemsky
Cogliano - Penner - O'Sullivan
I had the left wing and center positions juggled a bit before this. I've also had Hemsky and O'Sullivan swapped but only for a game here or there. I'm having the worst time with Gagner on the 3rd line though. I just don't like him. I didn't like him in the Jets challenge and I still don't like him now. Maybe he'll be trade bait for season 2?
It's November 5th and I got news items saying that Hemsky is the Offensive Player of the Week and Gilbert is the Defensive Player of the Week.

I'm juggling all my lines all the time it does wonders for me. Horcoff is the only player that always plays on the first line.
How many of you are in manually in charge of the training? Usually I let the Head Coach run mine, but I am trying to run it by myself this time.

I always handle my own training. If I let the computer do it, it seems to put so many players on "General" for most of the season. I don't even use "General" until about half-way through the season when some of my top line players start getting tired after games. Otherwise, I train much harder. Check out
this thread for more info on training/practice.

I'm following the thread already. I've changed General to a tough General-training. The lack of PK and defensive ability on the team have made me put a lot of players into a more defensive training than optimal, but what to do when you can't trade.

WOW! My team has definitely turned things around. 15 games in and I've got a record of 6-3-6, good enough for 6th in the conference.

I had Horcoff, O'Sullivan, Souray and Cogliano injured at the same time and it killed my montum.

Anyone else send some of the young guns down to the AHL? Sent both Gagner and Brule to Springfield where they'll play on the same line for the season. Not a fan of how either of them had been developed so far, and planning on tanking the first season so that helps

I sent Gagner a couple of others back to juniors to develop, they didn't achieve anything up with the big guys.

I got Gagner,Cogliano,Brule,Smid in Springfield.
stats so far after 57 AHL games
Gagner 25g+49a
Cogliano 43g+40a
Brule 29g+46a
Smid 8g+27a
i think they devolp faster by getting 8.00+ in AHL then play in rubbish team in NHL

Some potential candidates for the development competition:
Jean-François Jacques
Ryan Stone
Ryan Potulny
Colin McDonald
Potulny seems a nice option. Or Jacques. Whaddaya think?
