At the moment enjoying at Fife Flyers in EIHL. Hmm interesting as they have like 350.000 USD per season budget while some other teams have up to or over 1 million. But with good tactic money don`t count much :-p (Link to my story)

Hi all,

11.8.15 started with Kiekkokopla in Fin-3 and got promoted to Fin-2 =D>
30.7.16 took offered GM position at JYP in Finnish Liiga. Two times regular season winner with out major playoff success. ](*,)
9.12.18 Resigned from JYP and took a job at Fort Wayne in ECHL.
6.2.19 Resigned from Fort Wayne and took a job at St. John's in AHL.
25.3.19 Resigned from ST.John's and finally got a job at NHL level.

So.. first season with about 20 games to play and I finished dead last in 16th place. :help:
4 seasons have passed and my team has won regular season 4 times and has been crowned as Stanley Cup Champions 4 times.

So i guess i'm right when i  to the fans who are outrageous when i offloaded some overpriced stars in my team. GM knows best.

Carolina Hurricanes are on a winning streak :)

Got a Lightning save on-the-go (Milton Keynes Lightning), coming up to November and first in the league but not running away with it. Have edited in the real-life transfers to happen as they did in real life so will be juggling my lines to accomodate Frankie Bakrlyk and Martti Jarventtie. Will be losing my top-scorer Rene Jarolin (who wasn't as successful with us in real-life) to my rivals Basingstoke Bison as well, so will be interested in how it pan's out.

Also just started a NY Rangers save. Not out of pre-season yet but working on my line-ups. Going to keep this team together and see how the play-offs go. If it's anything like real-life though I'll be looking to offload Girardi and Nash in the close-season. Setting my sights on trying to pry the Sedin's away from Vancouver, or signing TJ Oshie...

Will also be doing a EIHL season (Brit Elite League) but vacillating between Cardiff Devils (and developing Ben Bowns in net for them) or Manchester Storm (and try to develop some British players for them).

Just about to start season two with New York Islanders. First season went terrible because John Tavares only played 27 games and Travis Hamonic only 40 due to injurys. We finished 12th in the conference and we got to draft Julien Gauthier #9 overall. During the season I also traded Josh Bailey and a 2nd round pick for Arizonas 1st. We chose Carl Grundström with that pick.
Spoiler: Click to reveal
Jimmy Vesey had a really strong camp and pre-season with one goal and three assist in five games so he gets the chance to start the season. If it doesn´t work out though we have Troy Brouwer on our shortlist as a UFA.
We are ranked 25th in the league and the board expects playoffs, and I believe in playoffs as well.

Toronto Maple Leafs 2018/19

A great 4th season with a 3rd straight President's Trophy and finished it with a Stanley Cup, 2nd in 4 years. :1st: Having a lot of fun with this save, building the team mostly through the draft. Have, by the looks of things, plenty of offensive talent coming through with the AHL team finsihing 2nd in regular season but going out in the conference finals. Number of injuries has seen several young prospect coming up to play in the NHL and a few impressed and stuck around all the way to the cup. :-) Our way to the title:

4-0 Ottawa
4-1 Boston
4-1 Washington
4-3 Anaheim (last years finalists, lost to Rangers)

Our team:

van Riemsdyk - Stamkos - Kapanen
Kadri - Bozak/Brushett - Nylander --> Brushett picked 138th in 2016, replaced Bozak who got injured late in the season for 3 months.
Spaling - Brushett/McLeod - Bracco --> McLeod picked 53rd in 2016. A surprisingly good line for us, even when Brushett moved off of it.
Ross - Glendening - Panik --> Ross traded from Chicago in 2016.

Marincin - Shattenkirk
Reilly - Tanev
Gardner - Lööv/Ruhwedel --> Ruhwedel traded from Sabres in 2015.

Reimer/Sparks

Notable players:

Phillip Danault (C, traded from Chicago in 2016), Tyler Benson (LW, drafted 18th in 2016), Sean Day (LD, drafted 26th in 2016), Jake Kryski (C, drafted 198th in 2016) Filip Hedberg (LD, drafted 57th in 2016).

I really like the look of Bracco, Benson, Brushett and Kryski. Think they could all make it big. But they all have one thing in common...they can't defend. :-o Seeing some of the big guys aging now, checking forwards will be my main priority in the upcoming draft! Finding it real hard to find good 2-way players through the draft, I have to say.

Doing something a little different... a 92-93 run of the Canucks.

1st season we finished 5th in the West and knocked out Detroit, Quebec and then got eliminated by the Kings who then went on to get beat by the Devils for the cup...Ended up having a pretty solid draft.

19th Overall- Todd Bertuzzi - RW/LW - 6'3 244lbs - 18 years old - Canadian - 54pts in 57gp in WHL
49th Overall- Brendan Morrison - C/LW - 5'11 185lbs - 18 years old - Canadian - 48pts in 49gp at Michigan
59th Overall- Janne Ninnimaa - LD - 6'2 220lbs - 18 years old - Finnish - 56pts in 55gp in Finnish Elite League
60th Overall- Cristobal Huet - G - 6' 191lbs - 17 years old - French - 19W in 35gp in Swiss Elite League
69th Overall- Jay Pandolfo - LW/RW/ - 6'1 194lbs - 18 years old - American - 19pts in 43gp at Boston University
73rd Overall- Evgeni Nabokov - G - 6' 198lbs - 17 years old - Russian - 14W in 24gp in RusLg2
79th Overall- Marek Malik - LD - 6'5 233lbs - 18 years old - Czech - 18pts in 8gp in Italia Lg2 :-? (Player rating of 9.18... Classic Malik!)
89th Overall- Andreas Lilja - RD/RD - 6'5 222lbs - 17 years old - Swedish - 20pts in 45gp +39 in Swedish Allsvenska
99th Overall- Marcel Hanzal - C - 6'1 189lbs - 18 years old - Czech - 20pts in 22gp in Slovakia Extraliga
109th Overall- Kimmo Kuhta - RW/C - 6' 189lbs - 18 years old - Finnish - 55pts in 56gp in Finnish Elite League
139th Overall- Frediric Howard - C/RW - 5'9 180lbs - 18 years old - Canadian - 68pts in 50gp in Swiss Elite League
169th Overall- Vadim Shakhraltchouk - C - 6'4 216lbs - 19 years old - Ukranian - 50pts in 50gp in KHL

Now onto the offseason...

Ottawa Senators 15-16
In this save im just trying to get Erik Karlsson to win Art Ross, or at least do 100p.. The first season he racked up 66p, mostly because of Hoffman who scored 41 goals.
We made it to to playoff, and lost the conf final against Rangers..
One trade in the beginning, and shipped Michalek to Anaheim for a 1 rounder (Michael McLeod).
So this was my lineup, season one:

Hoffman-Turris-Ryan
MacArthur-Zibane-Stone
Prince-Lazar-Pageau
Greening-Smith-Chiasson
Chris Neil

Methot-Karlsson
Cowen-Ceci
Phillips-Wiercioch
Mark Borowiecki

Anderson
Hammond

In the draft i picked as #21 Clayton Keller, #27 Michael McLeod, #57 Jalen Smereck, #117 William Knierim, #147 Linus Nässén, #177 Nikita Makeyev and #207 Sergei Teryayev.
I also traded away two prospects for Nikolai Prokhorkin.. Chris Neil, Alex Chiasson, Chris Phillips and Patrick Wiercioch was realesed to the free agent market..
The guys who joined was JT Brown, Jack Skille and Braydon Coburn.
Zack Smith hade one year left, and i traded him to the Blues. I was planning to let Prokhorkin start in the AHL, but i could not send him down, without going trough waivers.. So Greening is my extra forward. I also called up Chris Wideman, to replace Wiercioch.
I have just started the second season, and after 6 games Karlsson has 3+5. The team is pretty much the same as last season, take a look:

Hoffman-Turris-Ryan
MacArthur-Zibane-Stone
Prokhorkin-Lazar-Brown
Prince-Pageau-Skille
Colin Greening

Methot-Karlsson
Cowen-Ceci
Coburn-Wideman
Mark Borowiecki

Anderson
Hammond

With this lineup i feel we have more of depth scoring. We play a offensive minded game, all 4 lines. Thats why i shaked up the bottom 6.
A quick look at the prospects, we are full on the center position.. Filip Chlapik, Colin White, Clayton Keller, Quentin Shore and Michael McLeod. On the LW/RW we only have Matt Puempel and Gabril Gagné. On defence we have depth, Thomas Chaput will be a top defender in NHL, also Jalen Smereck. To bad they both are LD..

Let the Art Ross hunt begin!

Not been able to play for a bit as I had the DirectX error message that a few people have had but sorted it now. I won the first game in OT but lost the second so we're currently tied at 1-1.

From my NY Rangers game I can see why Tanner Glass has been on the roster in real- life despite his perceived failings... Nobody else on the roster can fight! Dominic Moore stepped up first time I played Philly in my game and took a right pasting according to the commentary.

Will make sure either Glass or McIlrath are in my line-up from here-on out!

Toronto Maple Leafs 2019/20

Another fine season with a President's and a Stanley Cup to lift up. :1st: So 4 straight President's and 3rd (2nd straight) Stanley Cups in 5 years. Though it was a much tougher run in the Stanley Cup this time around and things are looking a bit interesting for the future. Players are leaving/aging and I'm unsure how to field the team in the coming years with so few players well capable in the defensive department. Got loads of offense though! =P~ May be a good time to trade some of these guys for good young-ish 2-way players.

4-1 Montreal
4-3 Tampa Bay --> Came back from 1-3.
4-2 Washington
4-3 Minnesota

van Riemsdyk - Stamkos - Nylander/Kapanen
Kadri - Draisaitl - Brushett/Nylander --> Draisaitl a FA signing. Dumb move by me as I didn't think about Bozak having a no-trade clause.
Benson - Bozak/McLeod - Bracco
Girgensons - Glendening - Spaling --> Girgensons a FA signing.

Rielly - Shattenkirk
Marincin - Tanev/Ruhwedel --> Tanev traded to Florida mid-season, wanted FA and wasn't playing up to standards.
Hultström/Day - Vaakanainen --> Hultström from Djurgården in 2016, has been v.good in AHL. Vaakanainen drafted 30th in 2017.

Reimer/Pickard

Notable players: Evan Fitzpatrick (G, drafted 36th in 2016), David Sherman (LW, drafted 174th in 2016), Mitchell Marner (RW).

Fitzpatrick is likely our starter in the near future, very well developed right now. Sherman looks like a goalscoring playmaker of high quality, a steal at 174th overall imho! Spaling is dropping fast though, and Bozak is slowing down at 34 years of age as well. Poor contract with 2 years left...yeah I hate myself right now. I hope he will be able to do a job on that 3rd line still, but with his unmovable contract he is restricting me when it come to new signings.

Our AHL team tore that league apart and won by a landslide + the cup as well. A number of players got recognition with individual awards. Future does look very bright it seems.

Picked up my old 2014 Coyotes start the other day. I'm in the 17-18 season. On the bright side, McDavid is a PPG player in his first NHL season (let him spend time developing in juniors), on the not so bright side my team's mediocre and my goalies are awful. Contemplating spending hard to get Malcolm Subban's rights from the Bruins. He's insanely good and went to Dynamo Moscow for this season when he couldn't work out a deal with the Bruins. Won't help me this year, since he won't come back til the international transfer window, but it'll make a huge difference next season.

Also on the bright side, my AHL team has lost 1 game this season and it's December. So that's good.

Rangers save has just got into December and starting to look at possible trades.

So far Fast and Miller are two of my most productive forwards and Hayes is having a season far better than he did in reality.

Nash is struggling to score goals, he's scoring at important times though, just wish he could be more prolific!

Currently leapfrogging between 2nd and 3rd in the metropolitan conference.

Have 2 different EHM things on the go... A 93-94 Canucks and a current Canucks with 8.2 Rosters.

In my 2nd season with the current team I signed John Gibson to a 1 year deal worth 2.45M per year and Steven Stamkos to a 5 year contract worth 8m per year...Also had McCann and Virtanen spend the 2nd season down in the AHL.

My lines are:
Sedin-Sedin-Stamkos
Baerstchi-Horvat-Jensen
Pearson-Sutter-Weise
Kenins-Cassels-Hansen

Edler-Tanev
Hamhuis-Svedberg
Jokipakka-Helgeson

Gibson
Markstrom

I have a question for you all playing this. Well, a few actually.

I currently play the older EHM07 with the patches from here that allow update rosters and season start dates. It is excellent.

Can you select or mod a new start date for this game in the same way??
Would you say it is actually better than EHM07 or just the same with new league rules etc??

I am going to buy it anyway to support the devs, but if you cant select start dates then I might wait for next year's version. Is there any word on them developing this?

My Yotes got their goaltender for the future in Malcolm Subban (already 5 stars at age 24) in a trade with the Bruins. Offloaded John Moore (4 star defenseman) as the centerpiece of the deal along with a couple of other players and a mid round pick. Subban is playing this season with Dynamo Moscow but has signed a contract to join the Coyotes for next season. I have faith that this is my missing piece, and my Yotes will be a legit contender next season. McDavid is a PPG player, I've got a good D, but my goaltending is holding me back.

Not sure this was the best thread to ask this but I'll weigh in:

I think that while you can't select the start-date like you could with '07 and the Custom Start-date patch, you can use one of the retro rosters and I think it automatically starts in the correct year for that database.

The old TBL databases might not have all the leagues selectable/playable as they are in EHM07 (I think that was the case as we found the British Leagues weren't playable on the 98/99 retro roster that is a work-in-progress) Pretty sure though that any database that has been produced since EHM:EA came out, and the NHL retro-rosters will start in the correct year. Nino or Braeden (above) might be able to explain in more detail...

I believe you are correct. You need to import the database using the import feature on the home screen of EHM. You should be able to use any database that was useable in EHM07 or the new game.

Thanks for the answers chaps.

Looking forward to get back into Hockey Management gaming.
That Franchise Hockey Manager game was just too threadbare and didn't really feel satisfying or scratch the itch.
