Oh thanks. I kind of mixed him up with someone else.
I figured out Shaikhelislamov, its actually Yahin. I cant believe he is turning into a real good defensive player, but his bravery Rating should have given me a hint.
One more guy who is really showing up for me is that one

.
He ended up the last two seasons with an 8.27 and an 8.17 Rating respectivly.

This guy will become a superstar for sure! I never saw a player this good under 16-17 and he is 14. I have no idea who regen it could be, but's it not the Holmstrom from the Red Wings because he hasn't retired yet(I'm only at my second season with 3.2).
If anybody want, I can post pictures of him at 18.
Here is the report from my scouts
Who cares about Crosby anymore?

The first one is Forsberg (they changed him from a C/LW to a LW/C) and the second is Naslund. It's cool that you drafted them both.

Hello
Are regens only from players that were NOT retired at game-start up? As they retire they regen....
For example the default db has over 2,300 whose Job for Club = "Retired" at game start-up...will these 2,300 regen?
I'm asking because in my 1974 db I have some Retired players "marked" at game start up (like all capitals for their name, or a number added) to make them easier to remember/find for future editing purposes.....will these players/staff regen? because if they do they'll have all caps or numbers in their names and that's not good...
Thanks

I'm almost certain that this is a Forsberg regen, but I'm not positive:
His consistency is 17.
I also got Naslund's regen the previous draft year, and he's currently tearing up the AHL as a teenager
Can't figure out who this one might be either. I thought maybe it was Robert Lang but I don't know (this one's consistency is 12) :
Thanks!

I think these guys regen if necessary. But there will be noch caps or numbers in their names. The names randomize.

I think I'll change them just to be on the safe side (because the names with caps/numbers may be "randomly picked" and I wouldn't want that).
Thanks again!

No, the game only picks the names it has in the database. They can be found in the pre-game editor in the 'first names' and 'last names' tabs.

So when I edit a name to "John OVERWRITE" or "BAD STATS" using the Editor, isn't OVERWRITE, BAD and STATS automatically added to the list of names?
It sounds like you're saying such editing is only "one time for that player" and that the "new" names are not automaticaly added to the list of first/last names.....well maybe I'll leave it as is then, because I do find the labelling helpful.
EDIT - I have since learned every name saved once is basically in the database forever! The "new" name IS automatically added to the list of first/last names!

No, I don't think the names are added.

Well then I think I'll leave them as is then!
I've got a bunch named "BAD STATS" for Retired/Invalid players whose Player History tab can not be deleted
and
I've got players like "Vladimir Krutov 14" for Invalid players that some would/could use in a career (see below)
Guys like "Vladimir Krutov 14" are for my personal use, and I'll probably leave them in for a "release" so those that want to go through the trouble for the cool results can do so.........the idea is to have historical "young in 1974" Europeans/Russians in the 12-19 age range set as "Invalid" in the db and set with a DOB that will make them 20 at game start...the fanatical (maybe just me) can go in with the Pre-Game Editor and include all these young Europeans/Russians and then on day 1 of game start-up go in using the Save Game Editor and change all the Birth Years so the ages are correct and the players are no longer 20.....WHY? This is the only way I've found to avoid the NHL Release Clause (if the player is 20 with a low Reputation he will not get an NHL Release Clause!).
So guys like Larionov, Krutov, Makorov, etc can start as teenagers and they'll stay out of the NHL for 10+ years, and others like Pelle Lindbergh and Hakan Loob and Kent Nilsson can be kept in Sweden (and with shorter contracts...players from Sweden/Fnland can be joining the NHL a few years before players from Russia just like IRL).....AND I do intend on increasing the number of "well known" historical European/Russian players (think Canada Cup rosters); and longer range plans include historical names for the players in all top leagues in Europe/Russia (and thus the need for the "workaround" - to have young players outside of NA grow up playing in their home country, and those that leave for NA will still start/stay in their home country for a good chunk of time).
For those that can recall the players of the era it'll help I think when you're playing your NHL team in the year 2010...2012...2016, and the overseas tournament News Items you recieve mention historical European/Russian players (and you play against those players in such tournaments!)
Regards

Actually, yes, the names
are added. Not only that, but the more players you add with a name, the more chances a regen has of being named that. Therefore, since Nino says he's got a bunch of people named BAD STATS in his db, even if only a temporary measure, in his game, there's fair chances that clubs will start hiring people with names like "Willy BAD STATS" or "Jean-François BAD STATS" within a few seasons. If you go take a look in the pre-game editor, under tab surname (I assume you put these as surnames), scroll down to names starting by B-A-D. You'll probably find BAD STATS was added to as many nation's namesets as you renamed players from. I strongly advise you rename all these players with real names, then go to Tools and select Allow Editing of Forenames/Surnames. Then, return to the surnames tab and retrieve all instances of such "marked" names. You cannot delete them, but you can overwrite them with a real name. Doing so does not affect the players in the db to my knowledge (never tried to change a name that players in the db wear however, so there are chances I might be wrong on this), so you have to manually rename them all.
Do backup your db before doing so, the editor warns that names editing has some destructive potential, though I have not witnessed anything dire in any of my games as of yet.

I asked this on another thread, but anyway...
Does anyone know if regens carry over the original player's preference for college/major junior/europe?
I know this can be edited in the pre-game editor, but does it carry over to this players' regens? Or it's random?

I remember reading somewhere that it does. Can't guarantee it, though

Thank you!
I will probably test it sometime in the future.
In my DB, every Canadian prospect worth their salt will be going to Major Junior, Europeans will mostly prefer to stay in Europe and Americans will be College bound. I'm still owrking on it, though.

He can be one of the "random" players that Lidas (it was actually I that asked him about it) added to non-elite nations for them to be able to get NHL stars too and reflect the spreading of hockey over the world. They are highly randomized.

Identifying players who regen right away should be easy for you to do since there's a limited number of players that immediately retire in a new game.

Hi,
Would you draft an excellent prospect with 3 stamina? Can it evoluate to a decent value?
I'm pretty sure he's Forsberg regen so...
Thanks.

Personnally I wouldn't. If it's some other attribute with a 3 or a 4, that doesn't bother me but stamina is the most essential thing for an hockey player. With 3 of stamina he will be always tired after games, couldn't last long on the ice and if he is always tired he will have more chances of been injured. If you have nothing else to pick, maybe you could make a bet on him.
