Vokoun seems to be okay after the whacked stick to the head:

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=508150

No concussion or inner ear injury.
The worst problem now is that he isn't comfortable wearing his mask after the stitches on his lacerated left ear. He returns to play when they get him something to make him able to wear the mask.

Good news for him, but I wonder how Ballard feels, he looked like if he just had seen a ghost in the clip that Reynaldo posted. :-k

Not that it matters because he would have probably been unable to play those next two games. But way to make your point Colin... :-k

I know it's not the Youtube thread but a couples of days ago we were talking about Kaleta and i've found this video. What Batdad says about a jerk, coward and everything are all shows in the vids. :-p

I don't get it how Ovechkin's suspension isn't going to be 2 games after he returns, now he get suspended and returns in full health.

Or was he even injured? Didn't found anything on it. :dunno:

The Blackhawks are suppose to announce Thursday afternoon that they've been able to sign Kane, Toews and Keith. Both Kane and Toews will have a 5 years deal averaging 6.3 millions per season and Keith is suppose to have a 13 years deal ( :-o ) with 5.5 millions per year.....so with Huet, Khabi, Hossa and Campbell over 5 millions each it's gonna be awesome at Chicago!

Savard celebrates his new contract with his 200th career goal vs Tampa. Game ends 4-1.

If they indeed managed to re-sign these guys, Chicago will have one of the best player cores for the upcoming years!

I am so mad that I missed this game. I was out with my wife and didn't get home until it was about over. I was keeping track of the score on my cell phone while we were out. I'm glad Savard scored right after signing his big new contract though. That's the way to show you want to earn that new pay.

Yeah but from what I read, they're going to have to dump some salary going into next season or these deals will put them over the cap.

Yes they will be really over the cap, just this year i think they don't have too much space left. So Khabibulin or Huet are out. I will be suprise if they dump Campbell, but who wants him at 7.5 millions.

Khabibulin is already gone. His contract expired and he signed with the Oilers in the off-season. The Blackhawks have Huet and Niemi as goaltenders.

darn that's true. :-D My god what a mistake i just make. I've been the first one to announce it on TBL. lol

So maybe Campbell will be dump finally ? Huet will stay because Niemi isn't ready to be the #1, well, Huet either isn't but at least is more than nothing. Maybe Sharp will go he's been in alot of trade rumors last summer. :-k

Going to be hard to dump Campbell. One or two of Buffy, Versteeg, Sharp and sending Sopel to minors is more likely. But if they can dump Campbell for nothing...wow. Highly unlikely though.

I'd love to see the Bruins get Barker from the Blackhawks but that's not going to happen.

Posted: Thu Dec 03, 2009 6:58 pm
by batdad
No it is not going to happen. Barker is not playing well this season though. He has really skated poorly and is moving the puck horrible. Sometimes I wonder if he is Sopel. Then he is able to make a turn to the right without falling down. And then he takes a shot...and I know he is not Sopel.

But other than CAmpbell he has been the weakest of the Hawks top 6. Hjalmarsson has been awesome. He is RFA by the way at the end of the year as well. Hawks need to resign him too.

If everybody would play well, you would have to pay them a lot of money. You see, a team needs a couple guys playing horrible to help the team financially. ;)

Well that's interesting reasoning, selne. :-D

The Leafs shut out the Habs at Montréal. I knew the transformation wasn't going to be easy, but to lose to Leafs by that margin... Doesn't seem they know what they're doing. Neither does Burke by what it looks like, mind you.

Gustavsson has some heart problems again. There's no detailed info at the moment, apparently.

Oh, and anybody knows what's up with Ovechkin?

The Leafs just trade Tlusty to the Canes for Philippe Paradis their first rounder of 09. Good trade for the Leafs but i don't know what Rutherford was thinking at the moment. :-k

Brooks Orpik(notes) of the Pittsburgh Penguins on the Ovi suspension: "To be honest, I thought he was getting suspended when he hit Kaleta from behind last week ... If you look at how he hits, it's all or nothing. He takes 10 strides before he hits guys." [Tribune Review]

Anyone else agree with this 100% or is it just me?

Posted: Thu Dec 03, 2009 10:27 pm
by batdad
I slightly do. Like Orpik is one to talk though. :-D Oh, and the only difference between Orpik and Ovechkin when they hit? Orpik takes 10 really really slow strides.
