EHM The Blue Line

Just bought the week ago and started in German DEL with Iserlohn Roosters.

Played with Toronto Maple Leafs up to 2023. We won the President's Trophy 7 times (2017-2023) and the Stanley Cup 5 times (2017, 2019-22). Got knocked out in the Conference Semi-Finals last year by Buffalo, for some reason those guys have our number. The team in the final year:

I've now decided to enter an alternate reality and put my Toronto save on hold and signed as Detroit new GM, after they finished 14th last year and their GM retired. Will be hopefully fun and interesting trying to re-build them. They have a ton of signed players and a lot of bad players, but lots of cap space to work with. Looking at what they have done last few years they seem to have been a horribly run team, trying to hit the "win now" button but giving up way too many picks and even a potential superstar for little return. Guess that is why they went from 3rd to 14th in one year.

I've just won the 2038 Stanley Cup. Had a very good season, possibly the best one I've had in this save. Had to do hardly any tactical changes and finished 4th in the East. In the playoffs we lost just one game and swept the finals against the Coyotes.

Some of my notable players were my goalie Sharam Zak, forwards Steele Trottier, Jyri Ruotsalainen and Tie Baumgartner. If you don't recongnize any of them, you've been living in a closet!

So I was just messing around in EHM. In the past I had talked about doing a challenge where we would need to play an NHL team with only Scandinavian players, could only trade for, sign, and draft Scandinavian players. So I decided to try it out. I simmed a game up to the playoffs (once the Wild were eliminated) and then took over to start drafting. Once trading opened, I started unloading all of the non-Scandinavian players and trading for them. I also drafted drafted all Scandinavian players (which was rough in this draft) I signed a couple UFAs that fit the criteria too. This is the team I was able to assemble.

I've also got some guys in the minors. I tried not to go too crazy on the deals. I included a 7th round pick and the rights to a prospect (just an okay one) in one deal. I also acquired a 1st and a 3rd while dumping a player. The board and fans threw a tantrum over a couple of my deals but celebrated one as a steal. I haven't played any games with them yet (starting the preseason now). But the team looks like they're fairly fast and skilled. Should be interesting!

Out of curiosity, how did you obtain Leon Draisaitl?

As a Wings fan, this makes me sad.

Had to go back and take a look. Seems I picked him up as a free agent in 2019. He signed a 1 year deal with Oilers in 2018 and was then let go to.

Seems like the Maple Leafs are very popular to start with. Here is my team for my fifth season. First season we were second to last and won the 1st draft pick. After that we have had 1 Stanley cup win and two short playoff runs. However now I feel for the next 2-3 seasons we are a serious contender.

Goaltenders: Reimer, Flitzpatrik
Line 1: Drew Doughty- Luke Green - Jamie Benn - Auston Matthews - William Nylander
Line 2: Morgan Rielly - Marincin - Van Reimsdyk - Nazeem Kadri - Alexander Nylander
Line 3: Sean Day - Defensive Hole 1 (Looking for a free agent / Waiver here; but literally no cap space ) - Matt Tkachuk - Tyler Bozak - Mitch Marner
Line 4: - Svetlakov- Logan Brown- Kapanen

Doughty, Benn were UFA transfers. Alexander and Tkachuk were trades post draft. Everyone else in the team is a draft or a free agent signing. Needless to say my board is often mad at me for the trades i have done but I thought What the Dickens its only a game and lets go crazy.

I got some prospects in the 1st team (Tilander, Brushett plus a couple of backups in case any of the first choice gets injured) I am trying to move on Phaneuf so that I can make some space in budget- he already cleared waivers and no one wants him it seems because of a 7 M hit. The prospect depth does seem low currently, especially in defense and LW. Maybe I cover it in the next draft

So far in 13 games I have a 11-0-2 record, which is the best I ever had in EHM so far. I basically use aggressive tactics with lots of criss crosses and loads of shots on goal.

Season 6 done with the Steelers

Finished top of the regular season standings
But lost 5-4 on aggregate to Manchester Storm in the first round of the playoffs
Lost in the Challenge Cup semi finals again to the Manchester Storm
Also went out of the CHL in the group stages only winning 1 match out of 4

The Storm have done you properly there! Still you did win the ACTUAL league. We should do a British 'Challenge' sometime and watch everyones heads explode with the League being the most important trophy...

The Storm are pretty good in this save along with Fife.

I'll be honest I just use a logo pack for the club badges I don't have face packs or any other extras may have a look when I get some time though

I'm in season three with the panthers and ive signed paul Maurice as an assistant coach.

eliminated in round one in Europe. (sigh, I hoped to get through at least the first round)

on top of the league, walking away with the division/conference title (that guarantees me a third seed at worst) and am perfect throughout the first round of the cup. have Edinburgh for the third straight year in the quarter finals.

the game hasn't put the league title in the history part of my team, but have put 2016 down for Belfast.

and my conference is now by far the weakest going. some reason the scots and Manchester are coming strong now after the second season.

started resigning some of my players, and have now gone ten and 0 in the cup, semifinals here we come.

conference is now secured, and soon shall so will the regular season (and most important trophy).

lost my starting goalie for the last three months and now I need to decide between two goalies.

wikman while being outstanding for three years is 33, while jp Anderson is slightly better, and 25. decisions decisions

I aslo applied for a khl job and got it but turned it down..

it didn't suck I deliberately turned it down because the facilities and the staff there suck.

yeah I am, enjoying it so so much.

and now my panthers (after losing ryan murray to the sabres, (he'll finish the season mind)) need just one more win to secure title 2, and 2nd trophy of the season. they also held their nerve to win a shootout to win the cup semifinal.

I know what id do if I was actually gm'ing the panthers, and that's start to set up an organisation, instead of it just being the panthers i'd get neil black to go and buy the jaguars and the leopards and start an organisation. not sure if that's even possible in this game either

Won the play offs though beating Cardiff 4-3 in the final
We were knocked out of the challenge cup by Fife

Top scorer was Brendan Gaunce with 42 points from 50 games.

you've had the best season in Europe out of anyone ive seen in Europe so far. you won twice and still didn't qualify.

out of curiosity, how much money do you have? because ive made nearly 4,000,000 the last two years, and the steelers are in the next finance bracket, and are now rich. so I'm wondering how much you've been making?

My balance at the moment is $3.5m and i have $2.1m to spend per year on wages.

had a weird moment where my board decided to pay 2.8 million in dividends to themselves. to say I'm annoyed is an understatement. that was half of the club cash reserves. so this year, they're going to be investing everything into the clubs training facilites

started season 4 perfect so far, changed to a neutral zone trap and have conceded4 goals in 4 british league games.

after losing only three games to start the season in the elite league. I cheekily applied for and got the gm job for the Colorado avalanche.

three years, to the gm of an eihl franchise to the big big leagues of the nhl.

ive also made a multiple saves, because ive got unfinished business in the eihl, i.e I wasn't bored of cleaning up (ive lost three games in about 28 to start the season...) yet so I still in one save want to achieve more there.

and its going quite in the rocky mountains.

climbing the table, 4th in the conference, started around 10th. signed jon cooper as the head coach.

ive gone three months without a regulation loss with the Nottingham panthers...

(I had some fun with the avalanche, but for the next couple days I want to concentrate on the panthers,)

its the tenth of January, I last lost 4-2 in regulation on the 29th September.

I've lost one in overtime and one in a shootout.
