But Orpik is by far a better and cleaner hitter than the Ovechicken

Campbell
Byfulien
Kris Versteeg
1st round

For

Luke Schenn
Juri Tlusty
2nd Round

I can see this trade or something along the lines of it happening with Toronto. Hawks dump cap and get a good young d-man, a player similar to Versteeg and a high 3rd.

don't think this would work and plus, as i said later, Tlusty been trade to the Canes.

I disagree. Tlusty is meant to be the real deal, has great hands and can score. Paradis is projected as a 3rd line checker and isn't exactly lighting up the QMJHL at the moment.

He makes a pretty good job with the Cats right now. You doesn't have to score 100 points in each season to be a good player, plus he is project as a defensive player. He got a good size 6 feet 1 and 205 pounds and Bruke like that. Tlusty so far is a complete bust. He didn't seem to improve at all. Like we said often a change of air will maybe help him.

Tlusty is less than a point a game player. At best. I will be shocked if he ever scores more than 20 goals in an 82 game NHL season. He's going to play in the A for a while at least.

Paradis has some upside and has, how do you say...truculence. ha. :nerd:

Actually a good trade by Burkie, IMO. =D>

I'm thinking...if you'res supposed to be a skilled player and you can't make the 09-10 Fails team...you kinda suck :dunno:
Then again, Laughs are winning again, and they even scored 6 goals so far

Did you get this from the HF Boards Leaf forum? Because trading two young up and comers with Campbell (almost $14 million total salary) for a 3-4 dman (at most Schenn commands a 2nd round pick and Versteeg or Barker) and a useless fifth liner (who was dealt for another useless 5th liner already)AND GIVING up the HIGHER of the draft picks? Did you forget that Stan Bowman is Scotty Bowman's kid?

I know..you said or something like it. I am sure something like it would be Campbell and a 3rd for Kaberle.

Wait, I know you could not got it from there because in addition to all those Hawks moving to TO and the 1st, you forgot to add in the compulsory 4th rounder for the clowns in the Leaf forum over there.

And to have Tlusty in there, even though about 3 posts above it was noted he was dealt to Carolina.

That is an absolutely ridiculous trade proposal. The Hawks do not have to make a deal this season. If they are announcing the signings they have the room already under the "tagging" rules of the CBA for the following year. NOTHING CHANGES for this season in their cap by signing those guys for next season. They do not have to move anyone until next season. If they did, they would have to do it before signing TKK. If tagging is a problem...they can waive Sopel and relieve the stress.

That being said...the Hawks also have to sign Hjalmarsson.

Now..somewhere along the way ONE of Barker, Sharp, Buffy, Versteeg, Campbell will have to be moved to make room. They may have to move two if Campbell is not moved or Sopel not moved/waived. But that is all they need to do. They are NOT...repeat NOT desperate to move salary. So there will be NO Erhoff type deal (and even the Erhoff deal is mild compared to your suggestion). That is unless in August 2010 the Hawks still have not been able to do something.

No way do they have to throw in a 1st rounder to get someone to take enough payroll. Buffy, Versteeg, Sharp, Barker, are all DESIREABLE quantities. If they have to move two of them for picks/prospects they will. Or...they dump Campbell. And maybe they have to entice someone there. But I doubt it. Atlanta would love to have him. So would Dallas.

An absolute guarantee--that deal you proposed will not happen. Not even close to that kind of a deal. maybe throw in an expiring contract (Kaberle) and it could be done. But not with the pick exchange. That won't happen. Besides Chicago's 1st may be EXACTLY one pick higher than Toronto's second..so what would the point be?

So yeah, after a pathetic performance in Montreal where even the refs couldn't help the Bruins (as much as they tried), they bounce back pretty nicely against the Laughs. Phil a -3 on the night with one assist...on Chara's goal :-p
Komihidealot is such an embarrassment to this league, and the game of hockey in general. Crosschecking guys that are 5'10 from behind well after the whistle but literally hiding behind the refs and yapping in every scrum when Chara or Thornton are on the ice. Really loved it when Sobotka went after him in the corner :D The TBL Kaleta award for the month of December goes to Mike Komisucksalot. I admit it...I'd laugh if somebody took him out for the season with a headshot. He deserves it, period. Downside is, of course, the Leafs would be a much better team with this pylon off the ice. Tuukka Rask has more points in less games than he :D =D>

I would prefer that Komi been knockout against the Habs though. :-D I tell it to my friend that it would be nice to see him injured for the season against the Habs.

Fortunately, I missed most of the Bruins/Habs game. I turned it on late, saw that they were doing bad and turned it off after a bit. At this point in the season, I can tell when they Bruins just don't have a win in them. Saturday's Bruins/Leafs game was a whole other story! That one felt good! I loved the Anti-Kessel chants too.

Let's put it euphemistically: Komisarek is NOT a great defenceman. And the stuff he's been producing this season is at best pathetic. Shame he's of Polish origin. :-D

Leaving that aside, great job Bruins!

Burke is not going to trade away his young players for other young players.

I think Burke is planning to keep most of the veterans too, save maybe Kaberle, who could be dealt in a pick laden deadline trade.

The Leafs need some size up front. Skill for that matter.

Hall is probably the guy Burke wants...and he will likely do what ever it takes to secure him.

I will not be surprise. This is a typical Burke plan.

If that's the case, Burke should have done the Kaberle & TOR's 1st in that last draft for Kessel like he proposed to Chiarelli in the first place. He would've had his 1st round pick this year, which would have given him a good shot at Hall, and he still would've had those other picks. He overpaid for Kessel and because of that he'll probably miss out on a chance at Hall.

Yeah I think the Kessel trade was kind of dumb. Burke has a history of mixing things up and I feel that the Leafs will be better because of him. I think Wilson is the wrong coach for that team.

Brodeur gets his 103th shutout in his career =D> . Now he has as many shutouts as Terry Sawtchuk. =D>

But who's the next goalie who can make over 100 shutouts? :-k Not a easy job

Maybe, but nobody knows if he flops after few good seasons or if he gets serious injury :-k . Steve Mason can make over 30-40 but i don't think he can make more. Same with Carey Price and Cam Ward. Antti Niemi has played well, he has 2 shutouts but i don't think that he could be superstar in NHL.

We won't see a goalie make 100 shutouts again for a very, very long time.

If he were the Islander goalie the only thing that would be said is...well at least now we know he can stop a Denali. Too bad he cannot stop anything smaller.

Anyway, Witt got hit by a car, and Witt took it. Witt is tough fo sho. -15 tough. :-D
