If no one can help you
then go into the saved game edior for your game save, look him up, and look at his PA, and his offensive/defensive roles, as well as size
then look in the pre game editor of the database you used, look for an american with the same PA and compare their roles and size

Just found it, and he is the regen of R.J. Umberger...

ugh...

EDIT: I do have the Iginla regen though! That's some good consolation.

Honestly? the player he regens from matters as much as I do to Jennifer Lawrence. Ive had Glen Wesley, and Chris simon become two of my best players, with Toskala as my starter. In another game ive had Keith Tkachuk and Alex Kovalev putting up 130 points each, with Nick Lidstrom, and Joe Sakic put up 30 each.

It really is more about their attributes at start. My Lidstrom isnt exactly a strong skater while Kovalev was putting up 150 points out of Junior with 99's across the lower technicals at 17

I mean its really fun to find them out, but in the end, linkin park

I feel like this one should be easy but I have no clue. 18 consistency. Whoever it is the guy is a stud. just finished his second year of jrs scoring over 2 pts/gm and avg rating of 9.6 over full season. Not sure if I should give him a chance to stick with the NHL team or not this year. Dropbox won't allow the site to show a preview I guess.

Let him try the 9-10 games test and just send him back if he's not doing the job. In the AHL he will probably be very good and could develop well enough. Let him play on the third or second line in the NHL with PP time and see how it goes.

Are there any specific/unique ways to identify the Lidstrom regen? I believe I have him in my game...but then I found a similar Swede on another team. I'm not certain which one has the Lidstrom regen. It's not really significant either way, I'm just curious. One of the players has weaker skating but the better mental attributes and his offensive skills seem to line up more with #5's (Positioning, Checking, stickhandling), while the other seems to line up more with #5's skating....but he is listed as "strong and a tough checker"...which definitely doesn't seem like #5. However he has even better "offensive attributes" for the majority of the skills. both players have 17's for checking and 12/13 for hitting. The one with weaker skating is like 6'2 187lbs, which seems about right for lidstrom (but again weak skating? I don't know ehm). And the other one is like 6'3 200 (doesn't seem lidstrom-like, but again his skating and offensive attributes make me uncertain)

Any thoughts guys? Sorry for the lack of screen shots, if it would be useful I will add them later tonight.

Edit: Adding to my uncertainty - the 6'3 200 smoother skating player is listed as a "reliable" defenseman in his bio, while the other one...which I'm leaning towards being the actual lidstrom regen is listed as a "Flashy offensive dman".

Also, I have no clue who this other regen is (consistencies are 18 and 20), any guesses? I was thinking pitkanen...but he's a fin. ANyways, any thoughts would be appreciated

As you can see, I'm currently playing in 2020, in 5.3 rosters, 2006 adjusted, and I drafted this guy, 24th overall of 2020 draft. Just wondering who he can be ? I was thinking for Ilya Kovalchuk, as he retired in 2018. Kovalchuk is the only left winger from Russia in the HOF. But, the weight doesn't fit with Kovalchuk :S Maybe i'm totally wrong and it's not a regen, but some help would be great ! Thanks !

My best guess is Alex Semin; right handed left wing from russia

Even if A.Semin retired in 2020 ?

Guess not then. It would be someone who retired in 2018

try using the saved game editor to see his PA, offensive role, defencive role, and size, then use the pregame editor to find someone similar

It's not Kovalchuck or Semin. It's more than likely a Russian winger that stayed in Russia and just regen'd with good deking/stickhandling and shootin.

He will gain about 10 lbs from the time he's drafted up until he turns 22.

High caliber regens are pretty obvious too. Kovalchuk or Semin would have a much higher average rating than a 6.13, even at 18.

Last thought -- don't get caught up in regen hunting. I really don't think this one is going to be special.

So how do you guys know when players retire? Do you just check all of them at the end of each year and have a spreadsheat or is there a way to check when they retire?

If it is the star-players then you can see that in the Hall of fame

If you read just the first part of the first page of this thread I think you'll get your answer...

If you're using the TBL rosters then everyone has consistency showing.
Databases that aren't using a certain file is another matter

Thanks for the reply! I am using TBL roster so I guess my only way of finding regens is by waiting to see who retires, writing down their country of birth, shooting hand, position, flair, height and weight and then trying and find him in the player search function?

If that is the case, I have 2 questions:

1-Do I get mail about who retires? I'm in my second season and the only one I saw retire (I think) is Jagr, at the end of last year.

2- How long does it take for the regen to appear after the original has retired?

It's all probably been answered already but I couldn't find it, so a big thanks to anyone who answers me. Recently discovered this game and it's fun. Really fun

After years of playing EHM, I just recently dove into this regen hunting business and it has brought a whole new level of depth to the gaming experience (and time consumption)

Image
(6'9" / 231 lbs)
Starting off with the obvious one...

Image
(6'5" / 207 lbs)
I'm quite sure this fella is a regen of Ponikarovsky(?)

Image
(6'3" / 201 lbs)
Any ideas for this one? Elias maybe?

Image
(6'2" / 203 lbs)
I'm totally wandering in the darkness trying to figure out this guy's origin. A power forward with consistency rating of 10.

Using TBL 7.1 rosters
