Well maybe Archi or Manimal will know what the problem is

Maybe you could just pick an available team for the missing affiliation, and then try to save-close-reopen (and then see if the needed team then shows up in the affiliations list)

I don't really know how you've ended up with those blank affiliations if all you have done is add new teams. The best thing to do is to take a fresh copy of the original database you were using and add your teams again. Then save and exit the Editor - and then go back in and add/edit the affiliations.

I don't think there should be a problem with adding affiliations for new teams - I know I have done it on occasion.

Alright. It sucks that the delete button is greyed, as I would just delete them. It didn't take too long to make teams, though. Also, is it possible to assign players to the team in-game rather than using the editor? I want to make the teams completely with free agents, but I don't want to have to go through each player in the editor and set their team to one of the teams.

Yes of course. Sorry, I thought you were referring to using some saved game editor to move FAs (which of course isn't possible).

Awesome. Finally, is there a way to change the number of teams in each division in the league rules? I can't import the game because it's saying that the number of teams doesn't match what's in the league rules.

AFAIK at this time you can't change number of teams in each division...currently the choices are the 2006 setup or the 2014 setup

Just making sure - the NHL at 30 teams, the limits for the AHL and ECHL - they're totally hardcoded, right?

Thought I could find a cute way to add in expansion teams (even while accepting there's no way the game can do an expansion draft - I'd have to do a league-wide fantasy draft or assign players myself) but it doesn't look very doable unless I replace/edit existing teams.

I tend to edit the database a fair bit on my own, but there's something I wonder about

Some players, I enter the CA/PA and leave attributes at 0 for random, and offensive/defensive roles really help to mold the types of players without figuring out attributes. However, how can I make sure it's a shooting setup or playmaking, or hitting, etc. I understand the passing tendency attribute, however it doesn't appear to affect much in game (still get results like 30 goals, 50 assists for 8 passing tendency), and it doesn't affect say a player's shot being better than their passing attribute, etc.

How can I adjust that?

I advise you, if you have some of the attributes provided with numbers, then do not let others Attribute with 0. When PA / CA high, then you get the attribute numbers that you have set. If the CA / PA low, is sometimes withdrawn. (That's my impression) You must try out a little bit. Use the Updater.

At first glance, even reading through the updater threads, player roles is still relatively confusing

I believe Archi added to the Updater download a PDF file that is a chart of the different Roles, with a description and example player(s)....have you seen the chart?

I apologize if this issue has already been dealt with, but I'm having difficulty getting the pre-game editor to apply in my EHM-EA sims. I'm not sure how else to describe it. I make changes in the editor and they do not show up in the sim. I am using the EHM 07 version of the 7.3 rosters. Is there something I need to do after making my changes, saving them in the editor and opening the game? Thanks for any help!

Yep, I have. My problem stems right now from what all the roles will effect in game. For instance, I am aware it probably helps shape future attribute growth, but say attributes and CA do not line up. Currently, the game fills in the states. With a role set, does it fill them in according to that? Alternatively, does it also affect general playstyle (in the game, if I set Stamkos to c_sniper, will he become a shoot first goalscorer, or will he stay as what he always is in game for me, a 30-35 goal, 40-50 assist guy)

Sorry if I am a pain, or missing the obvious!

Yes! That's exactly what it's supposed to do! But it is Early Access HaHa so there may be some bugs and/or tweaking needed

That would be more than just Player Role! NHL players and others (like top prospects/worldwide players) have all their Attributes inputted (there's no "0" random Attribute used), and so the fine tuning/tweaking of different Attributes is done in an effort to best represent/model the player.....in your example with Stamkos, Attributes you'd be looking at closely in the fine tuning/tweaking process would certainly include Pass Tendency (to get the right goal-assist ratio) and Consistency (how often the player plays to his full ability; small increments can increase/reduce point production with a sniper)

I think we're all trying to fully understand the relation between the new Player Roles and the existing Roles/Attributes. I think once the next TBL Rosters are released, when most/all of the playable Leagues will have their Player Roles set, we'll be able to better test/understand things...

Thanks for the help.

The pass tendency updater seems like a useful tool, too. Hopefully it will work well. I haven't noticed much change in stats based on pass tendency with trials so far, though.

Sorry, you're absolutely right. I was thinking only of the Pre-Game Editor when I replied. But of course there was recently an option added to the transfer_rules_config.cfg file where limits can be set (see below).

Hey, am trying to switch coaches for two different teams, i have set coach 1 to coach team 2 , and coach 2 to coach team 1, I save the DB, and start up the game, but the changes revert so that coach one = team one and coach 2 = team 2 , any help would be appreciated !
