OK (thanks!)
That's weird, as I have never had the issue occur (and when I do tests I select all leagues as enhanced)
I haven't done a multi-season test in awhile, but I regularly do "load up/advance a bit" tests
EDIT - Issue resolved/no concerns
do you remember how you fixed it, and what caused it?
Archi's version of the database was missing a team from the ECHL

darn
Thats not the problem mine has, but its still crashing
but it works when I select at least Canada as enhanced, so I have no clue what it is

Have you moved any teams and/or changed any team names?
My biggest nemesis by far has been team name editing...weirdness happened again with my most recent team name editing efforts as all was going fine and then for reasons unknown to me both "Tampere I" and "Praha Sp" caused crashes if I even moved them!
Because of past issues (crashes/data loss) when team name editing I pretty much make a single team name change, save/close and then load up the game and test to ensure all works...and then repeat again as necessary, going very slowly/carefully (I hate team name editing! HaHa)
Good luck!

I've got Head Coach names for all the Finnish teams, but none for the Swedish teams.
I'm looking for the names of the Head Coaches for the teams listed below...ideally from 1974-75, but if not anything close that's available is better than nothing (or perhaps a famous old player from the club who'd retired by 1974?)...anyone have any answers/suggestions? Thanks!
AIK
Brynäs IF
Djurgårdens IF
Färjestads BK
Leksands IF
MODO Hockey
Skellefteå AIK
Södertälje SK
Timrå IK
Västra Frölunda HC

Why do you need to edit Tampere Ilves? Isn't that name correct from the beginning? Or is it just Tampere I?

It's just "Tampere I" in the 1974 database (the 1974 database was built from the original default database and not from the "unfaking database" that corrected fake players, staff, teams, competitions, arenas, etc. to their correct real life names)

Here are the head coaches for those Swedish teams. Whatever info there is on them can be found on Eliteprospects.com.
For Skellefteå I listed the head coach from 75-76 as earlier could not be found. Swedish hockey system went through a major change in 1975.
AIK - Anders Parmström
Brynäs - Tommy Sandlin
Djurgården - Hans Mild
Färjestad - Arne Strömberg, Olle Öst(assistant)
Leksand - Vilgot Larsson
MoDo - Lennart Höglander
Skellefteå - Per Lundström
Södertälje - Kjell Svensson
Timrå - Eje Lindström
V.Frölunda - Lars-Eric Lundvall

The game didn't have SM-liiga license so in the original DB all Finnish teams were only town names, like Espoo, Turku, Helsinki J and Helsinki I, and so on.

Curious about Jarvis though: shouldn't he be with the Habs? Since the Leafs traded him to the Habs for Greg Hubick right on draft day IIRC...

Sokol Kiev played in the russian 2nd league in 74-75 and is the same team as what you have for the Belarus League.
The entry should be called Sokol Kiev (or actually Sokil Kiev, which is the correct transcription now used by the IIHF but as you most likely have all other Russian names in NHL spelling better keep it as Sokol)

Getting rosters for teams from Russia/Czechoslovakia (Czech Republic/Slovakia) was very challenging!
Basically I used rosters that were 4-5 years later, and when I changed the ages to match 1974 I moved anyone who ended up under age 20 to the appropriate European/Russian Junior League.
I'm not sure how much team editing I'll get done (it's not my favourite task/I have to be in the mood to), but I'm sure I'll look at it some more before release.
And I want to look at Staff Attributes (especially European/Russian) before release too; I'm going to use the soon to be released new EHM Updater to do so.
AND I'd like to try and look at North America again before release, looking at NHL staff/player Attributes & maybe looking at Major Junior too (I suspect the completion of player adding for College, as well as Attribute review for Minor Pro/College, will have to wait for now...as will adding the European/Russian "minor hockey" leagues and extra young players & filling out the playable Leagues as needed with fake players)
I just applied the attribute_update csv file to the 1974 database! significantly updating the European/Russian player Attributes!
Running a test right now...everything loaded up without issue!

Ran until November 1st of season 3 with all Leagues on Enhanced...no issues!
I'm now running the same test with an actual 1974 start date (it was pretty exciting to see 1974 on the screen for the first time!)

I was just wondering if you found a way to have a player "Go Kovalchuk"; Go to a lower rep league for more money, or go to a lower rep league closer to home. IE: A player bolting back to russia despite getting offers in the NHL. I know you were talking about that earlier in the thread, dont know if you got it working or not

Not sure, as things haven't really been tested yet while looking at any details
While I'm not yet happy with the results of my EU/Russia Attribute editing, it is "getting there"
I'm setting what Attributes I can to keep Europeans/Russians in Europe/Russia and I suspect many will stay, and many will come to North America...rather than North America (the NHL) seeing a gradual increase of Swedes/Finns through the late 70s into the 80s (with a few Czechs), ever increasing until the Russians joined around 1990 like IRL - in EHM07 with the 1974DB I suspect that while a vast majority of Europeans/Russians will stay at home we'll still see a significant influx of Europeans/Russians every year throughout the 70s (things'll just happen much quicker than they did IRL)...EHM does seem to be coded in such a way that the NHL always gets the top talent

I can't remember whether you tried this before, but have you tried setting the reputation for the Russian league to 20 and the NHL to something like 16 or 17? I think you might have tried this before, but I can't remember for sure.

I don't recall if I tried that, as it's been awhile since I was actively working on keeping most Europeans/Russians in Europe/Russia...what I do recall is spending a great deal of time removing NHL Release Clauses from contracts (by adjusting CA/Reputation) only to find the game/NHL signs them away anyways!!!
Not sure if it's just that the game is coded to ensure the NHL always gets the best players OR there's a lot more that needs setting up besides Reputation (i.e. when changing/increasing team budgets, you need to increase player salaries too or it doesn't work). I also recall it doesn't seem any Russian player can ever make more than about $250K, as that is all that shows in game regardless of what you edit team budget/player salary to be
Now I've basically accepted "it is what it is" and I'm not adamantly/actively trying to accomplish the same things (there used to be less than 100 Europeans/Russians, now there's about 1000, so for now I've accepted that there'll be a significant influx of Europeans/Russians much earlier than there was IRL)

Players above a certain # of reputation simply wont sign outside of the NHL, period. You can set league reps however you want, but you can't get players of a certain reputation threshold to sign anywhere else. My guess is there a hardcoded reputation threshold in the EXE.

As I recall I tested players like Tretiak (and other NHL caliber star players) starting with single digits for Reputation (if I made everyone 1/1/1 the wrong players ended up on national teams) and they still immediately sign with an NHL team! So CA and/or PA must play a part too (Tretiak/Yakushev start with a 175 CA, Kharlamov starts with a 170 CA)
If the Reputation is set low enough (80 and under IIRC) the player will not get an NHL Release Clause added to their contract at start up - BUT the NHL teams still sign them away! European/Russian contracts have been shown to be meaningless to the NHL teams for some reason...and even if Adaptability is set to 1 players come over and do well...I believe age affects things too, as it seems older players
might stay "home" but younger quality players seem to pretty much always come to the NHL...and I suspect the Ambition/Pressure Attributes might play a part too

I set the NHL to an age cap of like 12 years old, to not even let it be an option for guys, and set my modified RSL to 20 rep. Guys just plain wouldn't sign with anyone, they'd sit for season after season with no NHL option available. NHL or nothing for them. Stamkos, Crosby, Ovechkin... all were happy to just watch their primes fly on by.
EDIT: Bleh. Forgot to add that once I mass rolled back EVERYONE'S Reputations by 35% all of these guys were available to sign with no other changes. I do believe it is solely and purely Reputation-based

Perhaps it is with no NHL available (but again I'm still wanting the NHL to be the top League in the World, I'm most definitely not wanting to eliminate its existence!)
