Finished my 1st Season with Philadelphia(1998-99 DB). Made a few minor trades. Traded Chris Therien and Brian Boucher to Pittsburgh and they were willing to give up the 1999 1st, 2002 1st and 2003 1sts for them..... :-o

Offense was solid as we had 8 10+ goal scorers(Including 19 from Dan McGillis and 27 from Alex Daigle)

2nd in the East with a 55-25-2 Record and went against our arch-rivals of the 90's, the New Jersey Devils. Took seven thrilling games but we knocked them off, winning Game 6 and 7.

Next up was the Dominator and the Buffalo Sabres. We fell in Game 1(4-2), but the Beezer shut the door on the Sabres allowing only four goals as the Flyers rattled off four straight.

In a rematch of the 1996-97 Eastern Conference Finals, we met the Rangers to punch our ticket into the Cup Finals versus a VERY DOMINATE Red Wings Team. Alas our dream was crushed as our top defenseman Eric Desjardin was knocked out of Game 5 with a Hip Pointer and would miss the remainder of the series as would Petr Svoboda. Our Blueline consisted of McGillis, Chris Joseph, Richardson, rookies Andy Delmore and Dmitri Tertyshny and Garry Galley(Acquired in a minor trade). We fought hard but the Rangers won in six.

Phantoms fell to the Fredericton Canadiens in the Conference Finals in 7 Games

Detroit would go 16-1 en route to a Stanley Cup Championship

Was able to sign Rafalski, Visnovsky, Hlavac and Kim Johnsson to contracts.

Philly walks into the 1999 draft with Picks #8 and #26

8: Henrik Zetterberg
26: Ryan Miller
56: Doug Janik
116: Ivan Huml
146: Samuel Pahlsson
206: Jimmie Ericsson

always bugs me when guys come on and say the games to boring or its too easy when they go after every star player and make an all-star team by exploiting AI. but to each their own :P :dunno:

Don't like the idea of Fantasy Draft.
Check out the TBL Retro Rosters 1998/99, if you've only played the modern database. ;)

Was running with the Canucks but got upset that my favourite player ever, Pavel Bure was sitting out for 8 months. Thanks Messier. [-(

Any ideas what to do with the 98/99 rosters? You did excellent work! I don't want to take one of the empty teams either. (WPG, MIN, CBJ I think they are)

Rebuild would be fun, I like the draft. I was doing the TBL challenge we had up but I think I deleted my save accidentally.

Season 31/32 is over and my Sharks won the Stanley Cup for the 8th time. When the awards were given my team had many winners.

Norris: All 3 were my players
Vezina: My rookie goalie won it but the Calder went to my rookie D-man :dunno:
Jenning: Also to my goalie
Calder: My rookie D-man won it and my Vezina winning goalie was at 3rd place.
Lady Byng: All 3 were my players
1st All-star: Both D-men from my team
2nd All-star: Goalie, D-man and 2 forwards from my team
Rookie All-Star: My Calder winning D-man who also is on the 1st all-star and my goalie :-D

After a couple of months without playing EHM I got back into it starting umemployed. We're now in february 2016 and I just got a job with North Bay in the OHL who are dead last in the league. :D This is going to be interesting as the board expect me to make the playoffs with not alot of games left.

The challenge for me is going to get familiar with the rules of the league since I have absolutely no clues how things work in the OHL. I'll try to land a championship before moving to another (higher I hope) league at some point.

As exected I finished dead last in the east. There was no way I had the time to turn the team around to make the playoffs. This is going to be hard to do something with them haha! They have barely 3 good offensive players, the defense sucks and their goalies are really average. There's alot of building to do!

I still haven't found and head-coach yet. I'm negociating hard with Oates but it seems his NHL experience boosted his ego at the same time. Other than that I found decent assistants-coaches though so at least there's that. I hope I can land the first overall pick for the draft! It could help alot. At least I hope.... :D

Oatsy is an awesome skills coach and get's bookedby a lot of NHLers for individual training. At least IRL. :-)

at the end of season five, ive had three players drafted to the nhl.

to clarify in real life only two have been drafted after being trained in the uk.

sam duggan got drafted in the 7th roud 206th overall.

Bernard rose got drafted in the 5th, 148 overall.

bu the coyotes took grant Holland 21st overall, signed him immediately, and gave me 500k.

my youth system seems to be working me thinks.

After a long summer my training camp is done and the start of the season is near!

I did alot of work during the summer to rebuild the team the best I could and I can say that we improved a bit, not alot but a bit for sure. Overall the defense didn't changed alot but it sure look more stable than it was. I drafted a 15 yo d-men in the second round that is already in the line-up and so far he's having a pretty decent camp and I hope he will continu to improve during the season.

In attack I did alot of changes since it was pretty bad. Released a couple of players, added couple of vets and good defense foward. My 1st overall pick is also ready to go and I hope he can have a nice season. My 3rd round pick is also in the line-up and is looking good so far. I added alot of young guys but the vets from last season (the good ones) are still there to back them up. The mix will be interesting.

Unfortunately the only place, one of the worst, I wasn't able to improved yet is in the net. I still have the same goalies who were pretty bad last year. I tried to make some trades but it did not worked and didn't find any free agents worthy enough.

So there's that. We are ready to go and I hope I can clinch at least one of the last playoff spot. I haven't been excited like that to start a season since a long time! I feel like I'm playing a new game with a pretty good challenge. This gonna be fun. :D

darn I love the 98/99 db. I took the Canucks and turned them in a powerhouse, lost to the Leafs in the SCF in 02-03 and 03-04 then I beat the Flyers in 04-05. After the 03 SCF I drafted Shea Weber and Ryan Suter, Brouwer, Bryan Boyle and Garrison 04 I drafted Ovechkin, Edler, Wheeler, Dubinsky, Radulov, Stalman and after winning the Cup I just drafted Kopitar, Franson and Martinez. I wanted to draft Crosby but the AI wouldn't trade picks :( Had to draft Kopitar instead

I also made one of the hardest trade I've ever made in EHM. Alexander Mogilny, my Canuck hero, and Nikolai Zherdev for Evgeni Malkin.

I'm really surprised Marty Turco sucked ass, I ended up doing a massive trade for Kiprusoff.

Image

Scatchard was a great 2nd line defensive C I was sad to let him go but Kipper just won his 3rd Vezina trophy in 4 years so I'm far from being mad!

Another trade was Aucoin, Cooke, Peverley and Bryan McCabe for Zetterberg. However NYR waived Cooke and I claimed him, he's such a good bottom 6 player.

Here's a report card of my team Image

Bonus Tampa Center trouble: Image

Lecavalier, Richards, Getzlaf and Crosby on the same team. No it's not team Canada.

1999-2000 Season

Offseasons:
Signed Olaf Kolzig(Let Beezer walk), Geoff Sanderson, Kris Draper, Ian Laperriere and PETER FORSBERG

To fit Forsberg we parted with Brind'Amour(Sent to Columbus for 2002 1st).

Finished 4th in the Conference(55-17-10, New Jersey was 3 points ahead of us), added Alexander Mogilny(For Peter White and Dmitri Tertyshny).

Quarterfinals(vs Rangers)
Game 1: 4-2 Win
Game 2: 4-1 Loss
Game 3: 3-2 OT Loss
Game 4: 3-2 Loss(Down 3-1)
Game 5: 3-2 Win
Game 6: 3-2 OT WIN
Game 7: 3-2 Win(Win Series 4-3)(Dallas overcame a 3-0 Lead vs the Defending champs, Detroit Red Wings)

Semi-Finals(vs Toronto)
Game 1: 5-2 Win
Game 2: 3-2 OT Loss
Game 3: 3-2 OT Win
Game 4: 2-1 OT Win
Game 5: 5-4 OT Win(Win Series 4-1)

Conference Finals(vs New Jersey)
Game 1: 3-2 Loss
Game 2: 5-4 OT Win
Game 3: 3-2 OT Win
Game 4: 4-2 Win
Game 5: 5-1 Win(Win Series 4-1)

Stanley Cup Finals(Vs Dallas)(Dallas added Keith Primeau who would lead the League in Points, 25 Points)
Game 1: 2-1 Win
Game 2: 8-2 Loss(Kolzig crapped the bed)
Game 3: 5-1 Loss
Game 4: 2-1 Loss
Game 5: 4-3 OT Win(Sanderson GWG, Belfour blew out his UCL and Turco is now the goalie)
Game 6: 5-4 OT Win(Tied 3-3, Forsberg Winner)
Game 7: 3-2 Loss, Stars Win the Stanley Cup. Lindros and Forsberg both registered 5 Ratings ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Pretty good year. Defense was young and adding Mogilny gave us some firepower on the Right Side. Desjardins led the defense with 70 Points, while Visnovsky finished one point under Tanguay for all Rookies. Kolzig had 47 wins, but was under .900 for his Save percentage....not happy about that. Lindros(33-44-77), LeClair(46-37-83) and Forsberg(26-55-81) led the offense with Geoff Sanderson putting up 40 goals as well.

Prospects:
Simon Gagne went OFF on the QMJHL(59G-52A-111PTS) and took home six QMJHL Awards
Henrik Zetterberg put up 12 Goals, 22 Assists in 40 Games with Timra(7.28 Avr)
Ryan Miller signed with UMASS and went 33-3-4, 1.65GAA, 94.0SV%.
Doug Janik(LD) went to Rensselaer, 10G-31A-41PTS
Samuel Pahlsson(C) scored 24G-24A-48PTS with MODO

Awards;
Brain Rafalski won the Calder Trophy :-?
LeClair won the King Clancy

Draft
Very Curious draft....Scott Hartnell(RAnked 4th) was still floating around when the 10th Overall pick came up so we offered our 1st(23rd), 2nd(56th), WSH 2nd(53) and Ivan Huml(Prospect) and Ottawa accepted.

83rd Pick - Nikita Alexeyev
113th - Matt Ellis
143rd: Patrick Yetman
157th: Dmitri Naumov
165th: Nicolas Poirier
173rd: Roddy Scmermund
203rd: Brandon Bochenski

Offseason Next....

North Bay update 2.0

First season is now over and we finished 4 pts behind the last playoff spot with a record of 24-38-6. Overall the season has been terrible. In my EHM career I never responsed to so many messages who were criticising my players haha! That team is so inconscistent it's unbelievable.

One of the good point of this season is that my rookies did pretty good so I hope the futur looks brighter even though there is still a ton of work to do. On the the draft now! I hope to land a couple of good players since I'll be drafting in the top 5 again and I got a couple of picks at the deadline too.

Offseaspn 1999-2000

A really tough call had to be made.....my Charles Montgomery Burns money tossing ways caught up to me, in signing Peter Forsberg to a huge contract along with the huge contract Eric Lindros has, one of them had to go especially if we wanted another shot at Lord Stanley. We were tight last year and a few injuries would have derailed us severely especially with the mid season addition of Alex Mogilny.

Mogilny wanted to test FA so he walked, but I was unable to sign LeClair before he hit the market, so we offered out Forsberg to the league. In typical EHM fashion I got 21 utter rubbish proposals for one of the best players in the league. Managed to work two solid deals and it was a tough decision. I had an agreement with Nashville(Kimmo Timonen, Greg Johnson and a 2003 1st Round Pick) and San Jose(Patrick Marleau, and their 2003 AND 2004 1st round picks). Went with the San Jose deal.

This freed up money allowing us to sign John LeClair to a 2yr/$12M deal(NTC) along with some more young players.

Colin White, Jochen Hecht, Andy McDonald and Jason Smith all agreed to contracts during the Free Agent season.

Those signings allowed us the freedom to make an additional trade; Shjon Podein and the rights to Mike Maneluk to St. Louis for Michal Handzus.

Some notable signings from around the league:
Keith Primeau signed with Buffalo
Bobby Holik signed with Carolina
Ray Bourque signed with Carolina
Rick Tocchet, Andrew Brunette, Fredrik Olausson, Sean Hill and Sergei Brylin signed with Columbus
Mark Messier went to Minnesota with Larry Murphy and Matthew Barnaby
Alexander Mogilny and Mike Sillinger signed with Phoenix
Dominik Hasek went to San Jose

Then this happened

In my Senators save, in the 2027-28 season, rattling off a few consecutive cups wins, grabbing Ovechkin, and then Crosby via the FA market.

Ovechkin actually surpassed Wayne Gretzky's Goal scoring record ( he sits at 911 and counting) At the age of 41.

Jay Bouwmeester calls it a career in Edmonton after almost reaching Gordie Howe's games played record, he played 1713 games.

Jagr finished his career with 1805 points, good enough for 3rd all time, Crosby and Ovechkin are closing in on him, quickly.

Fluery and Lundqvist would both go on and Surpass Patrick Roy in the wins column, but wouldn't reach Brodeur.

Just thought it was interesting that some of these records were broken, or came close to being broken.

Anyone have Gretzky's points total surpassed?

Some of us beat Gretzky's point total for a regular season but I don't recall someone saying he surpassed his total career points.

Has anyone else experienced any new rookies coming in and not putting up astounding numbers? Most, aren't even point a game players. Examples Matthews 709 Games, 356 points, Matthew Tkatchuk has 256 points in 791 games, it's very consistent that higher draft picks/'future superstars' etc end up with subpar numbers. Is this a common issue with your guys' saves?
