What does the SEGA buy out mean for the future of EHM? (Let's ask the question in the thread, too

According to the press release, they'll continue to develop EHM, OOTP, and FM... plus other projects. I can only think this is a good thing. By being a part of SEGA, they'll have more resources at their disposal and more weight with the leagues. This also makes me wonder if they might branch out into American football and/or basketball now that they fall under SEGA.

On the SI board they said an NFL manager is unlikely due to licences.

I check out the SI board after reading about the deal here (I stopped visiting SI's board regularly because it got boring) and saw the same thing. Stupid EA has it. That's too bad. I always wanted to find a good NFL manager game.

I think it's good news for EHM. By the sound of things, they'll be pumping more resources into the development of the game. I hope they can get another person or two to come in and help Riz and GK...

Yes! That would be great. They're always saying the only reason they don't add more to the game is because of a lack of time and resources. If they had help, they could add more features than they normally would've been able to.

As the majority still don't know and/or understand that this game is quite literally a two man crew that works on this game more resources could only help. Anyone else they want to help them they have to steal them from other projects; if it wasn't for them both working 12-14 hour days it wouldn't be half the game it is now.

I think in the short term this is a very good thing for SI. An influx of cash and access to the resources of SEGAs other divisions can only make this game better. (Can we look forward to the games being played out in full 3D?) Also, it could mean the ability to purchase more licenses for the leagues and teams.
It's always scary when a large company comes in and buys something we all know and love. The uncertainty that they will change it, or dumb it down "for the casual gamer" is always there. But SEGA has been pretty good with the other companies that it has purchased like Creative Assembly, and as long as people keep buying SI games I don't see them putting their hand into too much. Don't fix what isn't broken and all that. The bottom line is that SEGA wants to make money, and as long as SI is making money, they won't change anything. This isn't the case of a large company coming in to buy a struggling business, making layoffs and all that. There really aren't a lot of people for them to layoff anyways.
Plus, one of the things that I think makes this game so good is the interaction between the developers and the customers. There are few games out there where the people who actually work on the game will answer your questions or listen to your feedback. And SEGA said that they will not change any of that.
Now if people stop buying SI games or they don't meet SEGAs expectations, then we should be worried.
