EHM The Blue Line

The wait is nearly over! The first EHM roster update for the 2012/13 season will be released within the next 7 days. I just need to finalise some bits and then I will upload it.

Before I post the changelist for v5.0 (to whet your appetite! ), I must first say that this is Manimal's final involvement with the roster update (he stepped down last month). Alessandro is now the Head Researcher, but I will also help him to maintain the roster update (I expect I will maintain/organise the UK and North America and Alessandro will concentrate on Europe/Russia). Anyway, I just want to say a huge thank you to Manimal for all of his hard work over the past number of years. His work has been nothing short of outstanding and he has single-handedly been a big reason why we still enjoy EHM so much. Thankfully Manimal will still be present on TBL and no doubt he will continue to be an invaluable source of information relating to developing the database.

Finally, I also want to say thank you to everybody who contributed to the roster update and the history update (I will post a full credit list when we release the rosters). Researchers are really hard to come by at the moment and so we're grateful to everybody who has helped out.

Here's a brief run-down of what the update will include:

NHL
* Updated rosters and contracts
* Adjusted attributes (I am going to look at completely re-rating the NHL for v5.1, but I'm not promising anything quite yet)
* Updated team budgets
* Updated average attendances
* NY Islanders' arena move added for the 2015/16 season

North America
* AHL & ECHL - Updated rosters
* CHL, SPHL & LNAH - Partially updated rosters
* WHL, OHL & QMJHL - Partially updated rosters (these will be further updated for v5.1)

Europe
A very wide range of updates spanning the vast majority of Europe. The most notable updates include:
* Czech Republic - Updated rosters and attributes
* Finland - Updated rosters and attributes and over 500 new young players created
* Great Britain - Updated rosters and attributes, over 1,000 missing players created and all missing junior teams created
* Russia - Updated rosters and attributes
* Slovakia - Updated rosters and attributes
* Sweden - Partially updated rosters and attributes

Player Career Histories
* Over 58,000 player career history entries added, covering virtually every player in every playable league (except Great Britain) and a wide range of non-playable leagues
* We have approximately 1,500 career history entries yet to add (because there were mistakes/errors) - these will be added for v5.1 (and hopefully also the UK career histories)

Competition Histories
* 2011/12 competition histories added for all playable leagues
* 2011/12 NHL player award histories added

Logos
I am working on a 2012/13 logo pack for all playable teams and leagues - and some non-playable ones too. Hopefully I will have this completed before the end of this year.

What roster update?? Nothing is happening in the NHL right now. I suggest a Manimal lock-out DB version were nothing as change.

You have made my week. Fantastic work. As someone who has followed this game since EHM 2005 I have been a huge Manimal fan. Thanks for all your hard work guys!!

One question about the quoted. Do you mean that the rosters of all teams have been updated but not all attributes? Or do you mean that all rosters not have been updated?

I can't comment on the attributes right now but all transactions that has happened since 4.2 has been done. There might still be some former junior guys still on the teams that have moved on IRL

Just to clarify that we have now imported Daelh's attribute updates for Sweden. So I'd now describe the Swedish update as more than just a "partial" update.

If you feel that a lot of transactions need to be made or staff/players created for Sweden, if you put them all in an EHM Updater csv file, we can easily import them into the next Manimal DB Update (I can explain how to compile the spreadsheet - it is very easy to do).
